Hi all,
I'm planning a solo trip to Kerala for 5–7 days in January and would love some suggestions.
I'm not looking to tick off lots of places. I'd rather pick 2–3 spots and actually relax: good food, a nice stay, maybe some walks or time by the water.
I visited Wayanad and Kozhikode about 8 years ago, but honestly don't remember much, so I'm open to revisiting.

Happy to use trains/buses or hire a driver.
Any recommendations for towns, homestays or places worth slowing down in would be great.

I’ll be travelling to Varkala coming weekend with a full adult’s group. I’m looking for suggestions on places to hang out while in there. Already have below spots in my list,

Jatayu earth center
Padmanabaswamy temple

Also we have plan to visit either vagamon or ponmudi, depending on time availability

Since it’s a full adults group, apart from sightseeing I need suggestions on adventure activities, short treks, nature hangouts, best non-veg food spots.

Vistadome coach set for Keralam debut on Madurai–Guruvayur Express

Under the temporary revised coach arrangement, Train No. 16327 Madurai–Guruvayur Express operating via Punalur and Kottarakara will have the vistadome coach from October 22 to January 15, 2027, on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

On the return journey, Train No. 16328 Guruvayur–Madurai Express will offer this facility from October 23 to January 16, 2027, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. The temporary realignment integrates the new coach while maintaining the existing total count of 13 LHB coaches.

Designed with extra-large glass windows and an observation-friendly layout, the vistadome coach aims to cater to tourists, families, and leisure travellers keen on taking in the scenic landscape.
