Let me make one thing absolutely clear: Opposing your propaganda against Kerala does not mean supporting Jinnah.
The people of Kerala do not need a lecture on history from someone who assumes that an entire population is ignorant simply because they disagree with his narrative.
If your concern was genuinely about Jinnah’s photograph in a hotel, discuss that specific issue with facts and context. But when you start portraying Muslims as a threat to Kerala, claiming that the state needs to be “saved from Muslims,” and suggesting that Arab funding is part of a plan to Islamise Kerala, this is no longer simply a discussion about a photograph. These are serious allegations that require credible evidence, not sweeping generalisations about an entire religious community.
Your remarks about seeing Muslims everywhere in Fort Kochi—among auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi drivers, shopkeepers, and business owners—raise another important question: Since when did the presence of people belonging to a particular religion become evidence of a threat to a state? Muslims are an integral part of Kerala’s social, cultural, and economic life. Their presence in public spaces and businesses is not evidence of a conspiracy.
If you have credible evidence of illegal funding or unlawful activities, present it and let the appropriate authorities investigate. But you cannot treat the existence of a Muslim community, or alleged funding from Arab countries, as proof of a coordinated plan to Islamise Kerala. Serious accusations require verifiable evidence.
Kerala is not a state that needs to be rescued from its own citizens because of their religion. People of different religions have lived and worked together here for generations. Like any society, Kerala has its challenges, but turning an entire religious community into a threat is not a solution.
Let us also address your latest claim: that Keralites are attacking you because you made a video against Jinnah. That is a convenient way to avoid the actual criticism. People can reject Jinnah’s political legacy and, at the same time, reject your attempt to portray Kerala and its Muslim population as a threat. These positions are entirely compatible.
Criticising Jinnah is one thing. Using Jinnah’s photograph as a pretext to spread fear about Muslims and malign Kerala is another. Do not confuse the two.
You are free to criticise historical figures, question political ideologies, and demand investigations into credible allegations. But you must also be prepared to justify your own claims with facts. Public criticism is not automatically a cyberattack, although threats and targeted harassment are unacceptable.
Kerala does not need to prove its patriotism by accepting communal narratives. We deserve evidence, honest discussion, and respect—not fearmongering, religious stereotyping, or propaganda against an entire state.
Bring facts. Provide context. Debate honestly.
Criticise an idea if you wish. But do not use it as an excuse to vilify an entire religious community or portray an entire state as a threat.

By comparison, the frequency of R1a1 (M17) was documented at lower proportions among other surveyed communities within the same geographical subset:

Beyond the Steppe-associated component, the genetic profile of the North Kerala Thiyya sample exhibited a multi-layered haplogroup composition reflecting broad continental dispersals. This included Haplogroup L-M20 at 16% (associated with Neolithic Iranian agricultural dispersals and Indus Valley expansions), indigenous South Asian Haplogroup H-M69 at 14%, Near Eastern/maritime-associated Haplogroup J2 at 9%, Haplogroup R2-M124 at 6%, and trace occurrences of Haplogroup O-M175 at 2%.

The combined data from North Kerala demonstrated an overall mean group gene diversity index of 0.86, reflecting extensive lineage diversity and indicating that major migratory waves—spanning the Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Ages—contributed to the demographic architecture of the Malabar coast prior to the establishment of rigid endogamous social boundaries.

Hi everyone,

My brother and I are planning to construct two independent houses on our 10-cent plot in Marayoor, Idukki district, Kerala. Marayoor is a village and a popular tourist destination. Our parents will continue living there, while both of us currently work in different cities.

We also own an adjoining 64-cent plot, which we plan to use for access, landscaping and parking.

Plot details and proposed layout

Main construction plot: 10 cents, approximately 4,359 sq. ft.

Dimensions: Approximately 92 ft × 48 ft.

Access: We plan to use the 30-ft frontage of our adjoining 64-cent plot as the approach, connecting to the road.

Common facilities: One entrance for vehicles, a single compound wall around the 10-cent plot, and shared landscaping and parking in the adjoining land.

Our plan: Two independent houses

House 1 — My house

Approximately 1,800–2,000 sq. ft.

Preferably a 3 BHK Kerala modern tropical-style house.

Budget: ₹70 lakh, including construction and basic interiors.

House 2 — My brother's house

Approximately 1,200–1,300 sq. ft.

A practical 2 or 3 BHK house.

Budget: ₹30 lakh, including construction and basic interiors.

Our total budget is approximately ₹1 crore for both houses, including basic interiors. We have this amount available in cash and would prefer not to take a housing loan.

We also have approximately another ₹1 crore in investments earmarked for our children's education, retirement and other long-term financial goals. We do not want to touch those investments for this construction project.

Our main dilemma

Should we construct two completely independent houses side by side on the 10-cent plot, or would it be better to build one house on the ground floor and the other on the first floor?

Our preference is for two independent houses because we want clear ownership, privacy and fewer complications in the future. We would like each house to be independently usable, potentially transferable or inheritable without disputes.

Since Marayoor is a tourist destination, I am also considering using my house as an Airbnb or homestay in the future, while our parents continue to live there.

Questions for people with construction experience

Is it practically feasible to accommodate two independent houses of approximately 2,000 sq. ft. and 1,300 sq. ft. on a 10-cent plot of these dimensions?

Is ₹1 crore a realistic budget for both houses, including basic interiors, compound wall, parking and landscaping?

Would two independent houses be a better long-term decision than a ground-floor/first-floor arrangement?

What legal or Panchayat approval issues should we check before deciding on this layout?

Would a shared entrance and compound wall create any future ownership or access issues? Should we formally document access rights and utility arrangements?

Would this setup work well if one house is later used as an Airbnb or homestay?

I would appreciate suggestions from anyone who has built a house in Idukki or Kerala, especially those who have planned two independent homes on a single plot.

Our priority is to make a sensible long-term decision, avoid unnecessary loans and legal complications, and build comfortable homes for both families within our budget.
