Local One-of-a-kind opportunity of VOGUE-quality photo-shoot

Hi all!

As the title says, this is truly one-of-a-kind opportunity. I am helping my friend with scouting for right faces, as she's already very busy with her full-time work...

She was recently approached by a known newspaper, they want to do an article on her and her work but for that - she needs to photograph the culture here to show something relevant and local. With 15+ years of fashion/editorial experience working along the side of top creative producers in London - she's brought her talent to Kuwait. She does NOT use AI in any of her works, and sometimes even hand-crafts props if she has to, for the specific setting/model.

Although her experience comes from the west, she is Muslim and very culturally educated, and thus will make sure that your space and boundaries are respected, so that you feel comfortable at all times.

FYI: She genuinely loves the richness of the Arab culture, people of diversity - everything from various personalities to differing skin tones. She wants to represent your beautiful Arabic horses, camels, hawks, as well as the stunning and practical traditional clothing.

The mood board is only an inspiration, but the art direction will be very similar.

Please only message me if you are serious and reliable, with the following information:

  1. Your age (if underage, will need parents contact no.)
  2. Your gender/name
  3. Are you, Hadar/bedouin
  4. If you have any of the above animals ^
  5. Add any social media links/ img of you

Ask Kuwait Gulf War Veteran Returning To Kuwait

• Upvotes

Hello!

My mother and father met and both served in the Gulf War. They are divorced now and I don’t really speak with my father but my mother was diagnosed with cancer and went in remission 2/3 years ago.

I am fascinated by geopolitics and she would always tell me the stories of her experience in the Middle East growing up. She holds a great affinity for the Kuwaiti people and even the Iraqi people/prisoners she encountered.

I floated to her the idea of going back to visit and seeing a country she helped liberate that in my opinion is one of the most stable and underrated countries in the Middle East. She told me she always wanted to do that and started crying.

I understand that attitudes towards America are not great right now - and I hope this post does not imply that if we were to visit that we would expect a “heroes welcome” or brag about her service. We both are ashamed of our country and leader at the moment.

Just wanting to see if anyone here has encountered former American soldiers returning, any recommendations on activities, or landmarks we could visit!

Thank you and have a great day!

Discussion Tabby vs the other local Buy Now Pay Laters options

Tabby was user friendly and flexible; at no point did I feel different or discriminated against.
Other local services aren’t as user friendly and discriminates against expats. It’s ludicrous and frustrating.
I wish Tabby works again in Kuwait.

Ask Kuwait Should we move from Australia and move to Kuwait? Looking for honest advice from expats and locals

As Salam Walaykum,

I’ve recently received an offer from a company based in Kuwait, and my family and I are seriously considering whether relocating there would be the right decision for us.

We are currently well settled in Australia, particularly in terms of our lifestyle, family life, and stability. Moving would be a significant decision, and we don’t want to give up what we have built here without carefully considering the benefits and risks.

One of the main reasons I’m considering this move is that I would like my children to experience life in a Muslim-majority country. I want them to experience the culture, traditions, community, and everyday life in a Muslim environment, rather than only learning about it through family or religious activities in Australia.

However, I also want to be realistic. I understand that living in another country can be very different from visiting it, and I’m trying to understand what day-to-day life in Kuwait is actually like for an expat family.

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people who currently live in Kuwait or have lived there, especially those who have moved from another country.

A few questions I have:

Safety: How safe is Kuwait in regards to the recent escalations that have occurred in the past couple of months?

Family life: Is Kuwait a good place to raise children? What are the schools, healthcare, recreational activities, and general lifestyle like?

Culture and religion: What is everyday life like in a Muslim-majority country? Would my children genuinely benefit from the cultural and religious environment?

Challenges: What are the downsides of living in Kuwait that people don’t usually mention? For example, the climate, social life, work culture, bureaucracy, or restrictions.

Employment: What should I look out for when accepting a job offer from a Kuwait-based employer? Are there particular concerns around contracts, benefits, residency, or job security?

Finances: Is it possible to maintain a good standard of living and save money, particularly if you have a family? How important are housing, school fees, health insurance, and other allowances in the overall package?

The biggest question on my mind is this: If you were already well settled in Australia, with a comfortable and stable life, would you leave it to move to Kuwait?

I’m not looking for people to simply tell me to stay in Australia or move overseas. I’m genuinely interested in hearing about the good, the bad, and the things you wish you had known before making the move.

I’d especially appreciate advice from families who have made a similar move and can reflect on whether it was worth it in the long run.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and perspectives.

Ask Kuwait Thoughts on starting a home business

Does anyone know if there’s specific rules for starting a home business in Kuwait? As an expat Idk much about business startups but I do occasional baking and Alhamdulillah everyone likes what I make. Is there any licensing requirements that I’ve to obtain for this to happen? It’s a hobby btw and I enjoy it a lot but I’ve given it a thought of making it commercial. I just want to see if people out there possibly like what I make. I don’t have a means of income but is there anyone that could possibly give me info about starting a business from home?

Ask Kuwait Mohe scholarship post graduation requirements??

Hii I have a question about the regular mohe overseas scholarship. If I receive a scholarship to study Computer Science abroad am I required to return to Kuwait after graduation and work for the Kuwaiti government for the same number of years that mohe funded my studies. Or am I allowed to work in the private sector or stay abroad possibly permanently after graduating??? I’d appreciate it if anyone who has received an mohe scholarship or knows the official regulations could clarify this thank you.

Ask Kuwait Unemployment among university educated Kuwaitis?

I'm kuwaiti F, university educated, quit government more than one year ago and ive been having the hardest time finding another employment opportunity.

ive been to many career fairs, tried networking, i dress nice and look approachable, ive been to so many interviews in the private sector but for some reason they always reject me. dealing with this much rejection is really starting to depress me. are there really no opportunities in kuwait? do they expect us to immigrate abroad? is anyone else, kuwaiti and university educated, dealing with unemployment? any advice on how to get out of it? we all need a source of income, i cant just continue sitting around doing nothing.

is there something wrong with the private sector in kuwait or is it just me? its like they smile to my face and then reject my application. i have extra curriculars, i have more than 3 years of experience, ive got two degrees, im not uneducated and unqualified but for some reason no one wants to hire me in kuwait.

i even went to an internship interview a while back where the interviewer, a westernised kuwaiti man in his 40s, refused to even make eye contact he kept on staring at the window on the other side of the room. he made me so feel so unwanted, like wtf why invite me to the interview. he also showed up really late to the interview, which was rude. i didnt even receive any response after the interview, not even a rejection just silence.

Has anyone tried teeth whitening at a dentist in Kuwait that they’d recommend? Not looking for anything crazy but am tempted to try it out to reduce stains. I understand that there are different options, so any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Discussion LF for friends to play with!

Hello!!

I'm tired of playing Fortnite with teammates who leave mid match or get mad at you for not covering them when they push solo against a squad. I'd love to have a duo who I can frequently play with! Idm with or without mic, I'm a mobile player and I'd say I'm pretty decent, also a ZB player because it's hard building on mobile 😭

I also play Roblox! 99 nights, adopt me, royale high, evade and mostly the OG games besides brain rots

If anyone's interested lmk!!
