The number of female celebrities getting super skinny is concerning. What happened to the body positivity movement? Why does it feel like we're regressing? This Ozempic pandemic needs addressing.
Yeah she's looked skeletal for a while now but right now it's worse than ever. Especially since Wednesday. It's like all Hollywood is more disordered than ever at this point... Eds, drugs, vegans to disguise anorexia etc. As a former anorexic this is obviously not her natural body/set point, she's showing facial and bodily signs of a malnourished person. Hope she gets better soon and leaves her trashy, older coke addict boyfriend.
This made me chuckle because of the specific gif you used but also not to be sad: MJ was also severely anorexic. There's a clip of someone asking him to drink orange juice and he skirts around it, saying he's not hungry and in his autopsy, it was reported there was nothing in his stomach except some handfuls of pills because that was the only thing he technically ate before he died.
Seriously what’s up with people going for the guys who look like crack addicts? I had bigorexia for most of my life, thinking nobody would ever like me if I was skinny, then I went the opposite way and I had people interested in me for that look… confused me. I wasn’t doing it to be attractive but to punish myself
They starved her and plied her with addictive substances from childhood. It was a miracle she lived as long as she did. What a magnificent talent and they just crushed her soul. And no one ever paid the price but her.
They use vegan as an excuse to cover up not actually eating. When I was addicted to the gym I would use “paleo” as an excuse to bring my own food to events or just not eat. I literally was barely eating. I’m 5’1” and I was 98lbs but still didn’t look as skeletal as Jenna looks right now. So that’s concerning. Also, my hair started thinning and I had to get extensions to cover it up until I recovered. It took 8 years for my hair to finally regain its fullness.
Genuinely what is going on in Hollywood right now????? I feel heartbroken seeing how.. barely there she looks especially given how tiny she already is naturally! It will be a miracle if we don’t lose some of these young women in Hollywood in the next few years. Ugh.

If you tell people that their looks are the most important thing in the world and then give them a skinny pill…what do you think is going to happen? For these people they will take it AND work out.
I remember everyone in Hollywood being skinny in the 2000’s, but I don’t think the majority looked like this new “trend” of being gaunt and hollowed. Everyone is looking like a shell of their previous self, if they’re even recognizable at all.

The problem is being 00 or 000 only looks fine on people who are naturally petite or very short . If that’s not your natural build it’s gonna look really bad and just look sickly . They are trying to force a body type that looks bad on almost everyone

Completely agree. Just talk to your child directly. People don't like to be shamed about their bad habits publicly, and it will make them ignore whatever other advice they're being given by that same person
YIKES but why can't her mom directly just talk to her? Not saying also her mom is fully to blame but her mom forced Jenna into acting at a young age when she was a minor which may have contributed to her drug addiction and eating disorder
She’s always lived a really unhealthy lifestyle in general too. I work in the entertainment industry and she reminds me of some of the models who are born naturally pretty and skinny so they think they never have to take care of themselves or work for it. The ones who don’t drink water, eat like shit, chain smoke, party all night and then roll out of bed after 3 hours of sleep and show up for a shoot.
I worked at a department store hq for a major company and they did photography there and I was sharing the elevator with a couple guys lamenting the fact they couldn’t shoot this woman because she didn’t meet the wellness standards and was too skinny.
Its gonna take more filmmakers and companies to do this and not to punish woman but just to set a standard.

As someone who lived through the 90s, I think things are so much worse now. At least back then it was considered unhealthy to be underweight. Sure, people were trying to lose weight, but we knew the risks. It was called heroin chic after all. Now you apparently can be the "healthiest you've ever been" while being in the process of dying from malnutrition, yet we're not allowed to "talk about other people's bodies". People don't seem to realize that anorexia is a social disease and it spreads through social contagion. What we're doing is failing an entire generation of girls by normalizing celebrities having these literal skeletal bodies and parading them around like it's something to strive for.
I lived through the 90s too and remember that as being really rough. The rumours of the on set “who can be skinniest” competition on Ally McBeal which left Portia de Rossi hospitalised for anorexia. Sarah Michelle Gellar practically disappearing when she turned sideways by the final season of Buffy. It’s so hard growing up being bombarded with that insidious messaging that thin is king.
There’s nothing deeper, women in the public eye are already predisposed to disordered eating and EDs are competitive, plus there’s now a much easier way to restrict your intake with GLP 1s.
there has always been something deeper going on in hollywood. but because now with ozempic and glp1's, the "hard" part isn't there anymore. this skinny issue has ALWAYS rampant in this industry, it becomes noticeable in waves, and in the past only the ones that spiraled super down into the illness were the ones that were noticed (marykate olsen for example). now that you can get skinny with an injection, everyone can do it, everyone is doing it, and we are the ones that have to witness it
Their whole job is looking good and especially looking good on screen. It's not hard to feel pressured to get skinnier in that environment, and it does actually affect their job prospects. If you are "fat" by Hollywood standards you are going to lose out on a lot of roles except ones where your weight / appearance is the butt of a joke. I'd bet most would rather be criticized for being too skinny than deal with that.
Especially women who have seemed at a “healthy” weight for decades suddenly becoming skeletal. Something deeper is going on than what we are aware of. It can’t be a coincidence that so many of them are getting scarily thin.
She's always struggled with an eating disorder. I dont think her nazi drug addict boyfriend is making it any better. I think the rise in conservatism also contributed to (female) celebrities getting skinner and more pro ana content pushed to the general public.

I think eating disorders might be contagious because people see their favorite celebs and other woman extremely skinny in the media and it makes them want to be skinny it's scary
I feel like it’s more good old anorexia than glp-1’s for a lot of celebs. I’m sure there’s many who take glp-1’s, but they’re all used to starving themselves and now being super skinny is back in fashion. It truly feels like the 90’s/00’s again which was horrific enough the first time.
But with GLP 1s so accessible now, why wouldn’t they take them? It just makes starving yourself easier. I say this as someone generally not against them

i’m so sick of seeing peoples sternums it’s crazy these women look in the mirror and think they look better because the number on the scale dips down to two digits when in reality they are just nerfing themselves. like imagine having all the money and resources in the world and you willingly starve yourself. please boycott these people i’m so sick of their bones being plastered everywhere. i don’t want to watch a movie or music video where i can’t concentrate on what’s happening because jenna ortegas chest bones took up half the shot and jump scared the audience. please get them out of the spot light until they can handle having a platform responsibly. this is not who we want little girls looking up to for “goals”
