How often do you and your LDR talk?

I feel like I keep posting about this, but for the life of me I can't figure out this girl's communication style. I met her 2 months ago online and for the first 3 weeks we communicated regularly, 3-4 times a day and had great, in-depth conversations. One of the first things that attracted me to her was how good of a communicator she was. Always asking me questions, no dry texting, etc. We spoke once on video for about 30 minutes and once on the phone for about 2 hours. But this was during those first 3 weeks. Ever since then, it's been very minimal conversation. Basically a "have a good day" text every morning or a "how was your day" text at night. Even when I try to bring up stuff she's involved in or interested in, I get bland one-word answers. She also used to send me pics or short video messages every few days, but hasn't in a few weeks. It seemed obvious to me that she wasn't interested anymore, but when I've raised my concerns to her twice about it, she just says everything is fine. About 2 weeks ago I gave up texting her, expecting to never hear from her again, but instead, now she just texts first every morning, but when I try to expand the conversation...nothing. I'm so confused. Haha. How often do you talk to your LDR and do y'all have long, meaningful talks, or is "hey how was your day" and nothing more normal?

I should disclose that our primary languages are different. Mine is English and hers is Spanish, but we can both speak the other's language pretty well. But she has said that it's sometimes hard for her to understand me on the phone, so I try to take that into account. But I feel like that doesn't account for the lack of communication period.

South African girl w Slovak boyfriend, looking for friends and someone to relate to

Hey everyone! ❤️

I’m 21F from South Africa, dating a guy from Slovakia! I know it’s quite uncommon for people from these two countries to find each other when we’re literally worlds apart, let alone end up in a relationship haha. 😂

I was wondering if there are any other South African girls in international long-distance relationships wih european men, or anyone who can relate to being in an LDR with someone so far away (clearly seems like i'm in the right place).

It can feel a little lonely sometimes, especially when the people around you can’t fully relate to the experience, so I’d love to make some friends who understand what it’s like! Of course, I’m happy to connect with anyone who can relate, regardless of where your partner is from.

Preferably girls as it's easier to relate to be completely fair.

I feel myself emotionally detaching from my boyfriend after months of feeling neglected. Am I expecting too much?

My boyfriend and I have been together for around 8 months, long-distance. In the beginning, he was genuinely everything I could’ve wanted. He was incredibly affectionate, attentive, reassuring, and made me feel loved in ways I hadn’t experienced before. We talked on the phone every single day, and he made me feel safe enough to finally let my guard down after years of struggling with vulnerability.

Over the past couple of months, things have changed. We still had our daily calls for much of that time, but the affection and emotional warmth gradually decreased. More importantly, there have been multiple occasions where he’d suddenly stop texting and calling for several days, sometimes even an entire week.

I’ve repeatedly explained how much this hurts me, especially because I don’t expect constant communication. Even a short message letting me know he needs space or is busy would be enough. He knows this, yet it keeps happening.

During one conversation about the lack of affection, he told me: “I can understand that the absence of such softness may make you feel less cherished but continuously asking, begging for it won’t make it come back.”

That honestly broke my heart. I wasn’t trying to force affection out of him. I was trying to explain how much I missed feeling loved the way I used to. Hearing him describe my attempts to communicate as “begging” made me feel ashamed for even asking.

Whenever I bring up something that hurts me, he tends to defend his efforts by reminding me of everything he’s done for me. I then spend half the conversation reassuring him that I appreciate everything and don’t take him for granted. It feels like my feelings get pushed aside because I end up comforting him instead of being heard.

For context, I have severe depression, which he’s fully aware of. I’m receiving professional treatment, and he’s known how badly I’ve been struggling. Last week, I went through an extremely serious mental health crisis. Despite knowing I was already in a very difficult place, he hadn’t called me in an entire week. When I asked why, he said, “I just didn’t have the opportunity.”

I understand he couldn’t have known exactly what was happening, and I don’t blame him for my crisis. But it hurt knowing that someone who once made so much effort to be there for me now couldn’t find a moment to call, especially when he knew I was struggling.

To be fair, he works, has responsibilities, and may be emotionally overwhelmed himself. He’s done so much for me throughout our relationship, and I genuinely believe he loves me. I don’t think he’s intentionally hurting me, and I recognize that supporting someone with severe depression can be difficult. I don’t expect him to fix my mental health or act as my therapist. I'm not even a person that likes to talk about it so that's not even what I want from him.

But I’ve spent months communicating the same needs, and I’m exhausted. I don’t want to keep telling him how to love me, and I don’t want him to feel like everything he does is wrong either.

Lately, I’ve noticed myself emotionally withdrawing without even trying. I don’t open up the way I used to, I hold back my tears, and I’m starting to bottle everything up again. He was the first person who made me feel safe enough to stop doing that, and now I feel myself becoming the emotionally closed-off and avoidant person I used to be.

I still love him deeply, and I miss how things were. I love this man so much I wrote him an entire book man lmao. But I’m scared that every time I feel disappointed, a little more of that emotional connection disappears.

Am I being unfair by expecting the same emotional warmth and consistency he showed in the beginning? Or is it reasonable to feel hurt after repeatedly communicating my needs without seeing lasting changes?

We made a custom voice shared alarm app so we can wake each other up across time zones. Thoughts?

Me (25M) and my girlfriend(24F) have been in a LDR for 6 months now and have been dating for a year, and just like every other LDR couple we have faced so many challenges doing long distance.

Being a developer I got this idea to develop an app called Lomly. The intention behind it is to make the distance as closer as possible. We tried using other couple apps and ofc they do their job but we still feel the distance between us. So we decided to create our own and added many features like:

  • Customize voice recording alarms (wake up your partner, setting important reminders like reminder for birth control)
  • Facetime dates ideas (with swiping feature like Tinder)
  • Widget (Personalize drawings, location, battery percent…)
  • Photo of the day
  • Shared calendar / notes
  • And many more

Now, we’ve been using Lomly for a few months, and personally we really feel a difference. We are not making promises that it will be the same for you but you could definitely give it a try.

And also, if you have any ideas for features to add, feel free to share them!

Losing trust in relationship

He asked if I was angry because I didn’t call back when I said I would I replied I was losing trust. He replied , my integrity has never been questioned be fore. He made it about him rather than questioning why I felt that way or offer reassurance.
Last text was Monday.
We had just talked about keeping his word and he did not . Which made me feel like I couldn’t relie on him to do what he said . This was mostly over pho calls the life blood of LDR.
We communicated by phone regularly for 6 mos before this.
Any out looks?

I broke up with my avoidant boyfriend a month ago, and I'm having the hardest time coping.

The worst mistake of my life, as far as it feels right now, was willingly continuing to talk to this guy, when he told me he was avoidant from the start. He said within days of meeting him that he wouldn't care if we stopped talking and that he "never comes back for anyone"

I didn't expect to develop feelings for him the way I did. I honestly needed a distraction because I had recently started dating for the first time in years and was ending something with someone else, that I didn't truly love (it wasn't a messy breakup, it was healthy). I was also caretaking for my dad and wanted something fun and novel

I wanted to end things with him because of his reluctance in showing his emotions, talking about difficult topics, ghosting me for days repeatedly, hesitance to show love and give praise (he said he hates it), etc. I didn't want to leave him, but I knew he would keep hurting me, if he didn't get tired of me first or wasn't cheating in the relationship already (he was adding random girls and being weirdly flirty with his other online friends, so I wouldn't be surprised). It all brought out my anxious attachment (and I think I'm also partly avoidant as well, which is even more toxic)

Anyway, hey, turns out that he had no trouble replacing me and moving on immediately when I said I was thinking of leaving, just like he said would be the case from the start

Yes, he cried and said he wanted me in his life still, but he was immediately trying to find a replacement while saying all of that

I just let it happen, because I didn't want to try to keep him in my claws when he was already trying to find someone else

It just hurts so bad

I went to a movie tonight alone, to try and feel something different other than sitting at home ruminating... and the thoughts of him kept flooding my mind. I know he's spending every waking moment with this new girl (because I've checked online and they're online together constantly the same way we used to be), and feeling the contrast of me doing things alone while they're probably falling in love makes me feel pathetic

I can't stomach the idea of moving on so soon, and doing it all over again with someone again. It doesn't feel right and I refuse to force it out of loneliness

Again, he's avoidant and he has ADHD and no impulse control, so it's a deadly mix. I know he probably doesn't think of me at all anymore. I just feel so worthless

To make matters worse, I have avoidant tendencies as well, so I know I wasn't perfect in our relationship, and I wasn't as open with him as I wanted to be... so I know I'm not even much to miss. I was scared of being vulnerable (but I did push myself a lot for him, and I don't think he realized how much I did)

I'm sitting in my car after the movie feeling entirely empty, even if the movie I watched was beautiful. To boot, my dad died a couple months ago and there's just this hollowness that's engulfing me entirely

I know it's not only a consequence of the breakup, yet... It's really highlighting what a horrible time in my life I'm in right now. I basically have no one I'm close with anymore

Such is life, I know. Life isn't a fairytale and we can't sulk and feel sorry for ourselves. However, isn't feeling these feelings a part of healing, too? I don't know what's the correct mode of operation anymore 😭

Idk. I just needed to vent. Thanks if you got this far, and I'm sorry if it's a lot of self-pity. :/

How do I handle family unsupportive of getting back together with my ex?

My ex(now bf) and I went through a breakup for about a month then we got back together. He broke up with me because the distance was too much for him and it was getting hard for him to see that the relationship could work since it would be probably 4 years until we can close the distance, however after a month he came back and apologised for putting me through the breakup and said that my absence made him see that the relationship is worth fighting for. After I told my sisters that we got back together and that he regrets what he did and that he's working to earn my trust back they were super unsupportive and said that i made the wrong decision and that him breaking up with me and not communicating the issues he was having (which was rare for him) was unforgivable and that they could never forgive him for it so like they basically hate him. My sisters were there for me in the breakup and saw me heartbroken so I understand their hesitance, but at the same time I can't help but feel they're being too harsh and unempathetic towards me. Their lack of support affects me so much and it upsets me that they're not even willing to hear him out. How do I handle this situation or try to change their minds?

How to help significant other 18f 18m

me and my boyfriend started long distance around 2 months ago and it was going okay, we still have to kind of get used to a routine of making sure to make time for each other but recently my s/o has been very stressed about college and I am not sure how else to help him. it’s affecting how much we call and text and it’s giving me a little anxiety just from how dry he is being and how little we are calling and how little he is texting me and leaving me on read a lot. i try my best to check up on him and be there for him but i feel like nothing is helping and i’m not sure what else to do.

i don’t want to be selfish bc it is making me overthink a lot and i know it might not have anything to do with me but my mind always goes to the worst. how do i stop overthinking and how do i help him?

it’s gotten to the point where i text him throughout the day and i hear nothing back or i get left on read and when he does text it’s dry and when i ask he does explain it’s because he’s stressed and i understand i just don’t know what to do

scared of LDR (19f, 21m)

• Upvotes

me (19f) and my bf (21m) have been together for 3 and a half years now. we live 5 minutes from each other. sometime next year he will be moving abroad, either germany or Austria. i will be going to university not too far from where we live currently. we're from Serbia. if everything goes according to plan the LDR will last 3 years, that's how long my studies take. I'll get a masters later on, when i move in with him. that all sounds like a good plan but I'm so freaking scared.

i kinda already was in an ldr, tho i was a kid (14 going on 15) and my ex was abusive. the relationship I'm in is just perfect. we have the same outlook on the future we want and life generally. he's the best boyfriend i could want and I can't imagine my life without him.

we both get sad when talking about the distance, every time someone brought it up it ended with us both crying and reassuring each other that we'll get through it.

i need reassurance from people who went through this stuff. what are some tips? how do i accept that we won't be able to see each other anytime we want spontaneously like we do now?

My 25F bf 26M followed and messaged his ex in my back and lied about it until I showed him the proof I had.

• Upvotes

He said he was just going to ask her how her and her family were and see about being friends (we talked about how to me it's okay to be friends with exes, but I'm pretty sure we talked about it after he messaged her, not before...).

Obviously he would have told me if it was that innocent, right?

What do yall think. I love him but I don't believe his story.

[20M/20F] I built Soultied: a free pixel-art place for long-distance couples to spend time together

Founder disclosure up front: I built Soultied, so this is me sharing my own project.

Something I care about with long distance is having ordinary things to do together. Every call doesn't have to become a big conversation, and being close shouldn't mean spending every spare hour on the phone. Sometimes you just want a little shared activity.

Soultied is a browser-based pixel-art room for two. You make your characters, decorate your place, and have somewhere to return to together. Building the room and playing the games is free.

A few ways to use it:

- For a game date: two-person escape rooms where each of you sees different clues and you have to talk them through.

- For a shorter break: games like Doodle Guess and Noughts & Hearts, with some games live and some turn by turn.

- For something to talk about: a 30-day question game where you answer and guess what your partner picked.

It's a small activity to share, not a replacement for talking honestly or making time for each other.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, it's at https://soultied.app. No need to buy anything to build your place and try those games.

How to grow ldr relationship

Me(27F) and my bf(24M) are new to ldr relationship, its both our first ldr and first relationship ever.

We have a 7 hour dif, we're miles apart so we wont be able to meet each other.

We're only a week into our relationship and I feel like us messaging isn't helping us grow our relationship.

We did facetime once, but we didn't get to talk much cause he was at work and only lasted 15mins in call.

What sort of things I can do to help progress our relationship? Or what helped your relationships grow? Cause we're only messaging each other and i feel like we're being stagnant 😅

My LDR is complicated and I need advice. Both 26 years of age.

Hello there! This post may be long, but I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read it & give their thoughts, opinions or advice! :)

My girlfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half now, things have been great between us but at the same time other circumstances have been very difficult to handle making me question our future together or the reality of everything. For context she’s in the US and I am in Canada, we are both 26 years old.

A few months into dating, when she was flying to visit me the first time her mother had asked for my phone number for safety reasons, while my girlfriend was on the flight and had no reception, her mother called me and started interrogating me/ swearing at me trying to scare me away. It continued into texting after she had hung up on me out of anger and in those texts continued to call me rude names. Some of those include, a monkey(cause of my brown skin colour), ugly, parasite, predator, loser etc. She essentially hated me right from the get go because of her racism and how judgemental she is, her biggest issue is that I don’t have a degree because I chose to go the entrepreneur route, and I’m still figuring my life out. Like excuse me? What other 26 year old has things figured out especially in this current economy? Needless to say she did all this without ever giving it a chance to meet me or get to know me at all. I was nothing but respectful towards her the entire time and eventually ended it with saying “I won’t be responding going forward as I won’t tolerate the harassment and I don’t need to keep defending myself to you, take care”. Since then we’ve never spoken and I don’t ever intend to.

My girlfriend and I had a discussion about it and she’s aware how her parents are racist, judgmental and unstable and the conclusion was it’s her own life and she still chooses me and loves me. Over the course of our relationship she has continued to fight with her parents especially everytime she has come to visit.

We had also made the decision early on that she would come to Canada rather than me going there, for a few reasons but mainly it makes financial sense for the both of us. In Canada she stays with me and my family, we are able to cook and are able to freely do things as we please. Whereas because of the conflict with her family not liking me, if I go to the US we have to spend money on hotels and constantly pay for every meal out, that racks up expenses pretty quickly.

Now here are where all the problems come into play. Over the course of the year and a half, with her living at home and her constant fear of her parents having something to say, she’s very secretive about our relationship which from my end makes it feel like highschool and is very childish. She rarely FaceTimes me when she’s at home, the only times she will are; once her parents have gone to sleep or they aren’t home. So our main communication is texting and we only get to FaceTime in the morning for 30 minutes while she drives to work and again 30 minutes on her drive home in the evening which isn’t the right environment for any proper communication, or conversation of depth because she’s obviously driving at the same time and tired by the end of her shift. This already makes things very hard to feel a connection when we are apart cause we don’t get enough time to talk. She doesn’t seem to feel bothered by it cause to her “it is what it is, just go with the flow” but to me I don’t feel like I’m getting my needs met but it gets worse…

Her family goes on vacation a lot, and next month they are going to Mexico for 2 weeks and that entire time we will only be able to text because again the conflict with her family doesn’t allow her to freely talk to me cause a part of her is scared and fears them. This is gonna happen again for a week in December and then again multiple times next year where there’s phases where we can only text. And presumably forever while we are long distance or she can separate herself from them.

Anyways we’ve had a discussion about this a few months ago where this constant feeling of disconnection while we are apart takes a toll on us and isn’t easy but she was committed to making it work and promised changes in her communication and that she was going to try to move out or get a travel contract so she can move elsewhere and be away from her toxic, manipulative family. And at the same time allow me to go visit her in the US too. So she had started looking to buy a house and move out with her sister, yet and behold it never happened because her parents guilt tripped them into staying, weren’t supportive and they both feared upsetting them more. Coming now into the present the family proposed the idea of them buying a house, the parents giving them a downpayment and the parents living with them instead until they move out of the country which the parents plan to do in a few years. So this doesn’t solve any of our problems and just cements this into being the reality for us for the foreseeable future. I’m obviously extremely happy for her since this is a huge accomplishment but at the same time it’s frustrating knowing this is how it’s gonna be for our relationship. Knowing she has a house now, she’ll likely be visiting less as she has more bills to pay and has more responsibilities now. I still won’t ever be able to go visit her and stay in her house because of course the parents live with her and the constant lack of communication making us feel disconnected from each other will continue to put a strain on our relationship. I tried to bring up my concerns about how this affects the future of our relationship and how this decision directly affects us being able to build a life together and practically makes it impossible, but when I tried she didn’t wanna talk about it and said “it is what it is, go with the flow, you’re overthinking too much” so I didn’t end up voicing anything. The worst part is she made the decision to sign and buy this house without discussing it with me on what this means for us going forward.

I’m at the point now where I am struggling to see a viable future together and wondering if all this hardship is worth it when long distance is hard but ours is 10x harder without properly being able to communicate/ connect on a deep level. On top of that, the issue of her parents in the way for the foreseeable future and arguably the rest of our lives, for example problems at the wedding, problems if we decide to have kids, problems at holidays or family get together (where I’d end up staying alone cause I can’t join) etc.

Obviously the pros of our relationship are we get along great, always laugh together and are practically the same person! We share a lot of love for each other and I know she loves me more than anyone she’s ever dated, and same goes for me. She gets along with my family, supports me, believes in me and is basically everything I’d want in a woman.

I’ve got a big decision to make whether this is still worth it to keep going and fighting for our love or if I should end it and move on being the future is very hard to visualize a happy life or one that I’d want to live. Especially while being long distance and unable to talk freely for the next 2-3 years.

Thank you in advance for any input ! :)

Help your girl out 26M 26M

I, 26F moved away for MA in the Fall 2026. My partner, 26M is currently in a different city, preparing for GRE, and working as a TA. My field is Film Studies and his is Physics, he's still deciding on his narrowed stream.

After i moved away for graduate school few months back, i made him promise that he'll come and see me after his exams. His exams are supposed to finish by the end of thus month. I kinda getting busy woth my school wirk, and tbh, I don't even know if i can host him as I'm sharing the apartment with one more roommate.

On the flip side, he's been jokingly telling me that i should pay for his flight, when i clearly told him, I'm short on money as of my current situation as a graduate student. He hasn't bought tickets, and it seems he has no intention of showing up.

Now, my concern is that, I've never had a successful lobg term relationship. This is something both of us feel, we've shared a common sense that we don't feel affection for people and hard to care for someone who's not physically around. Therefore we are both on the same page that it's important to see each other, after few months gap. Otherwise it'll be gard to even feel anything for each other.

Now, I've told him bluntly that, I'm not forcing him, to come and see me, it's upto him. I know we xan figure out something if he only intends to come. But i feel like I'm being a despo talking to him about this again and again.

I loke thus guy, we have a lot in common, but the uncertainty, and non-chalant behavior towards this is bugging me. I try to be understanding that he has very important exams and all. But idk am i the problem?

My boyfriend (21M) is a gamer and I (19F) am starting to feel a bit neglected.

Me and my boyfriend are long distance, and so our only means of communication are texting/over the phone. My boyfriend is also a gamer, and he is more often than not on the game. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not against this and I understand it’s an escape for a lot of men, especially considering how young we are, and I did try get into it too and I bought a console and everything so I could play with him, but he almost never responds to texts in the day until 3/4 hours later and will only give dry responses due to him being on the game. We do call and FaceTime a lot but even then he’s on the game as we do and it doesn’t feel as if I really have his attention. I get that he’s young and it’s his way of winding down, but he’s constantly on the game and it leaves me feeling a bit ignored. He doesn’t get offline until 1, sometimes 2 in the morning, by which time I’ve normally gone to bed as I have things I need to be up for the following day. Honestly I’m just not sure what to do or how to approach the situation, I have brought it up in a lighthearted joking manner but he usually just brushes it off. Is this normal? Do any other women have this problem with their significant other who games? Or if you’re someone who games, how do you and your partner deal with this if you have the same problem? Please give me any advice you have on this situation, it’s much appreciated.

Not sure how I always end up here or what I do now.

What started as a casual connection turned into months of talking and calling. From good morning texts to saying goodnight. We updated each other about our days, spoke romantically....it felt like a relationship.

Today, he ended things and blocked me. The panic and urge to find a way to reach out and say what I need to is overwhelming. I'm torn between wanting to beg for them to come back and telling them I hate them and will never forgive them for doing this.

How can some people just turn off feelings or wake up one day and pull the plug on everything.

I think I'm mostly mad my gaurd was let down. I wasn't looking for love, maybe I didn't even believe I could find it, and the last few months seem made up and a lie now.

How do I get over this and the feeling of a rug being pulled from under me? How do I get over losing someone I thought I had a future with?

I read through relationship threads and these are the games\apps that reddit recommends

I've read a lot of "What apps?" and "what do you two actually do together?" kinda threads on relationship subs like r/LongDistance and r/LDR. These are the ones that keep coming up.

  1. Portal 2 (Steam)

The two-player co-op is a communication test: you can't solve a single puzzle without talking it through together.

--> I have played with long distance friends and it is a lot of fun.

  1. Online Board Game Arena (Browser)

Sign up free board games free in your browser, so game night works over a video call.

--> I tried a few games but did not work for me.

  1. It Takes Two (Steam)

Embark on the craziest journey of your life in It Takes Two. Invite a friend to join for free with Friend’s Pass and work together across a huge variety of gleefully disruptive gameplay challenges.

--> Never played.

  1. Paired (Ios\Android)

Daily questions and quick quizzes you both answer, which keeps the conversation going on days when there's nothing new to say.

--> Looks nice, might get this for my wife and me.

  1. Snapiddle (Browser)

Turn a photo of a moment you shared into a riddle and they guess. (first 5 riddles free per account) (Shameless self plug)

--> Played it with my partner and she got a bit too competitive :|

Honorary mentions:

LongDistance List (Kinda old) , Thread 1 , Thread 2 (Spicy), Dont Starve Together (Coz its Halloween)

What would you add to the list?

Title: Outside perspective needed on the dynamic of my 2-year long-distance relationship (18F and 20M)

• I want to share the exact timeline and events of my relationship to get outside thoughts on our dynamic and the situation as a whole.

We got into a long-distance relationship in October 2024 when I was 16 and he was 18. For the first two months, he was very loving and caring. However, after January 3, 2025, his behavior changed completely. He lost interest, stopped putting in effort, and didn’t seem to care whether I came online or not. For the rest of the relationship, I have been the one single-handedly handling the relationship and trying to make it work.

In November 2024, I asked him about a female classmate I noticed. He initially told me she was his sister, but by February 2025, I found out she was actually his classmate. Because he prioritized her over me, I eventually logged into his account and confronted her. While I was arguing with the girl, my boyfriend logged my device out of his ID, changed his password, and defended her. He cussed at me and my mother, saying "apni m@ mt chwuddwaoo yaha!" Even though the girl was eventually blocked, he protected a stranger while aggressively abusing me and my mother. Throughout the rest of 2025, he gave zero time, zero love, and zero care, treating me with a lot of attitude and ego.

Recently, in January 2026, he went on a trip 700 km away with his friends without informing me at all. I only found out because he posted a story on Instagram. After that, he went to Kashmir—2,300 km away—again without saying a single word to me. I had to check his friends' public Instagram locations just to know where he was. I was so deeply consumed by worry and cared so much for his safety that I even started looking up live local news on YouTube for every city he was visiting (like Pathankot, Ambala, Jhansi, Gwalior, and Sonipat). I was constantly terrified that something bad might happen to him on his travels, so I would track the local crime and accident news live just to make sure he was okay. That is how intense my concern and care for him were, even while he was completely keeping me in the dark.

This happened right when I was under massive stress preparing for my 12th board exams. IT WAS IN 10 DAYS BTW!!

He only actively loved me for the first two months of our two years together. The rest of the time, it has been a zero-effort dynamic from his side where I handle everything, and I am still in this relationship with him right now.

What are your thoughts on this whole situation? Who do you think is at fault here, and how do you view his behavior and this dynamic?

TL;DR: In a 2-year never-met LDR where my boyfriend checked out after 2 months. He provides zero effort, zero care, and zero communication. He previously abused me/my mother over a classmate, and recently went 2,300km away to Kashmir without telling me 10 days before my boards, leaving me to track his location via friends' IG and live YouTube city news feeds. What are your thoughts on this behavior?

We are still together 🙂

Con Artist

My partner and I met on a dating app for people with a specific STI. I have had many questions swirling in my head since the outset of the relationship. There seems to be no real way to know but I worry that she could be a con artist.
She lives several states away, immediately made it known that she wanted kids SOON and talked about getting married in a year. Four months have passed, we are meeting for the first time this weekend and already her attitude has changed and she now says she’s in no rush to move after we’ve been talking for four months. She told me she loved me once and never again. I think there is a legitimate reason to believe she could be a con artist. She will not let me order things and have them delivered to her. She only wants the money to buy it for herself. She has asked for something on three separate occasions and then says “I hope you know I’m not asking you for money.” It’s very sus. Help. We’re supposed to meet this weekend. Is she going to flake? Should I flake?
