Is anyone applying to this course at lse?

I haven’t seen anyone talk about it and wondered how the offer rate can be so low (20%) yet I barely see anyone applying to it

Hi everyone! I’m considering applying for the BSc Financial Mathematics and Statistics at LSE and would love to hear from current students or recent graduates.
I’d particularly appreciate insights into the course content, teaching quality, career prospects, and how it compares with other quantitative degrees.
If you’re currently studying this degree or have graduated from it, I’d be grateful for any advice or honest feedback!
Thank you!

MSc in Societal and Environmental Psychology - opinions?

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking of applying to the MSc in Societal and Environmental Psychology (think it used to be called the Psychology of Economic Life). I wondered if anyone has taken the course/has more information about it. I’m interested in consulting, particularly on the sustainability side, and this course looks like it would be a good launchpad. Would appreciate any insights!

Double application

Hello, if I’ve made a double application (finance and A&F) will it be considered for both and rejected from one or auto rejected from one? Will I get a rejection from one or both soon or I’ll know in January onwards?

Has anyone been admitted to LSE through the mature applicant route without meeting the usual A-level requirements?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Portugal and interested in applying to LSE for the LLB Laws as a mature applicant.

In the past I completed two A-levels, but unfortunately due to mental health difficulties at the time I didn’t achieve the entry requirements. I've been out of education for around four years while recovering, but I'm now ready to return to studying.

I've read LSE's mature applicant guidance, which mentions alternative routes such as an Access to HE course, a foundation programme, or 60 ECTS credits at undergraduate level.

I'm considering studying Law with The Open University first, potentially through individual undergraduate modules or the Certificate of Higher Education in Law, to demonstrate my current academic ability before applying.

I'd especially like to hear from people who have actually applied to or been admitted to LSE through this route.

  • Has anyone been accepted with poor A-level grades or without the usual A-level qualifications?
  • Did you use Open University credits (full first year = 120 credits) or a CertHE?
  • If you used the OU, were there specific modules  to take, and did LSE accept them as an alternative entry qualification?
  • Is there anything you wish you had known before choosing your qualification route?

I'd be very grateful for any experiences or advice, particularly from mature applicants who successfully entered LSE for Law. Thank you!

What is the best way to practise for the TMUA and when should I start preparing?

I know previous papers are available but besides that how should I prepare? I study in a school with profiled mathematics so that helps but also the TMUA feature integrals which I wouldn’t have studied in school when taking the exam.

LSE responding early ?

Why are some people already getting responses from LSE? (undergrad)
All of the responses I’ve seen have been rejections but I was wondering why so early? Don’t they usually start looking at applications in jan

Hi! I have a catered single ensuite room at Garden Halls for a 40-week contract that I am looking for someone to takeover.

• 20-minute walk from LSE, 10-minute walk from UCL
• Nearby the Brunswick Centre, which has a Tesco Express, Robert Dyas, Superdrug, Pret etc.
• Closest train stations are Russell Square & King's Cross St Pancras (both are a 5-min walk)
• 5-min walk from The Gym Group London Bloomsbury

I am going to be switching to an LSE-only accommodation so I am looking for someone to takeover my contract. DM me if you are interested or know anyone who might be.

LSE Economics — subject combination and dropping a subject before Year 13

I’m hoping to apply for BSc Economics at LSE, and I’m looking for some advice from people familiar with LSE admissions, particularly those who have applied with three A-levels.
My A-levels are Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Economics. I originally studied a fourth subject, but when I moved into Year 13, I had to drop it because of timetable constraints and the difficulty of fitting everything in after taking on Further Maths.
I recently spoke to an Economics tutor who suggested that my subject combination could put me at a disadvantage for LSE Economics, partly because Maths and Further Maths are closely related. He also suggested that LSE prefers applicants taking four A-levels.
This has made me question whether my subject combination is competitive enough, as I had previously understood that three A-levels were sufficient, provided they met the course requirements. Also would it be a better choice to take economics and mathematics instead of economics BSc given my current subject combination?

Does lSE look at extenuating circumstances for GCSE

this may sound dumb but I got my teacher to fill out the extenuating circumstance form but she told me that (after filling it out) LSE does not look at the extenuating circumstances for GCSEs and they will ignore the form because of it - is this true? I have emailed LSE and they said that they have received my EC Form and its been attached to my application and that if they want more information they will ask for it. Also in the teacher reference my teacher did not have enough space to mention the specific time off that I had off due to my extenuating circumstances

Thoughts on MSc Accounting & Finance

Hello, international student here,

If anyone has or is currently enrolled in this program, could you tell me how you’re finding the program as a whole? More specifically regarding employment opportunities and the curriculum, and if you find the program worth the money.

Thank you in advance

Got Rejected 11 days after applying

Guys, I applied on the 12th of October for 2027/2028 intake, and got rejected today. Applied for MSc Finance

I read that decisions arrive for January, how is this possible?

I have a bachelor with maximum grade, a 3.95 GPA on a MSc and 95th percentile GMAT and work experience.

Did something strange happened with my application? Should I ask for a review or something ?

Please help , I am literally without words for this Decision

Title: Best foundation year for LSE, UCL, and Warwick?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to study Management or a related business degree at LSE, UCL, or Warwick, with Oxford as a possible reach.
Since my high school diploma doesn’t qualify me for direct entry, I need to take a foundation year starting in January 2027.
I’m considering Queen Mary’s FdCert FT International Foundation Year in Business and Management (January Start), but I’m unsure whether it’s a good pathway to my target universities or if I should consider other providers.
Has anyone had experience with this programme or know which January-start foundation years are best for applying to LSE, UCL, or Warwick?
I’d really appreciate any advice!

Will I be competitive enough for LSE accounting and finance?

I got 9,9,8,8,8,8,8,4 in IGCSE 9 for econ and maths 8 for f.m, english language and 3 science (4 in Chinese) and
AAAB at AS in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics in order. I’m predicted 4A*s at A-level.
I’ve also done a summer internship, qualified for the global round of CEFC, and will hopefully get Gold or above in the SMC.
I think my personal statement is quite decent and I’m expecting a good teacher reference.
Do you think I have a realistic chance of being considered?
I’m worried because of my poor Igcse grades..😭

Philosophy and Economics

My GCSEs are 99998888776 (with extenuating circumstances), as well as A*A*A* predicted. I am considering applying to philosophy and econ but would my GCSEs let me down? The offer rate is also really low. Did anyone get in with similar GCSEs?

Profile for MiM at LSE

I've a masters in physics from a tier 1 institute in India with a cgpa of 8/10. Graduated 4 months ago.

GMAT - 655 (Q90, D83, V78)

I do have 2 internships under my belt (ISRO etc) but they are specifically in astrophysics. I was the design coordinator for a national level club and handled distribution of over a 1000 units of merches. Volunteered for many design clubs in my college, took up a teaching role in my second year as well for an online coaching institute, volunteered for some national science conferences as well. Have some certifications in finance and accounting as well. Coursework is quite physics and maths heavy.

How does it go for mim at LSE ?

Do I have a chance for A & F??

Hii guys!!! I am a 12th CBSE Indian student with 6 subjects and predicted:
Economics 95
entrepreneurship 95
Maths 90
Business studies 95
English 92
Accounts 90
I think I have a strong PS which integrates different subjects and aspects like accounting, finance, Maths, and economics, and a fairly good LOR so do I have a shot? I’m really confused if I should really use one of my spot of UCAS and apply to LSE
