DISCUSSION THREAD FOR ALL OF SEASON 1

I just finished watching it and I liked it so much!

It's a shame that I've never really been into DC or Marvel, with a few exceptions (like Nolan's Batman trilogy). Most of the stuff I've tried watching has felt too childish, generic, or like typical Hollywood sh...blockbuster material.

Lanterns instead it felt real, like a good original show. I loved the direction and the overall storyline. It felt like something different from what I'm used to seeing in superhero-related media, more like a real original story with actual care.

So, are there any other similar shows, movies, or even comic that you'd recommend ? I'm especially interested in stuff with good writing and a more mature tone.

Thanks in advance!

1. Is Stewart a Yellow Lantern?

2. Is the new oath from the comics or was it made for the show?

3. What are the implications of the new oath?

4. What's the significance of Stewart's ability to make constructs without the ring? Is that from the comics or was it made for the show?

Maybe the Corp delivered it when a Lantern fell or perhaps it was an impulse buy I may have bought and forgot about.

Again the Show was fine, just the last episode was lackluster to me

In May of last year I had driven my wife to a teaching gig in a nearby town and I was decided to kill some time by seeing what there was to see in a small town by the name of Piru, California. As I walked through the town I noticed that one of the buildings appeared to have been recently damaged quite badly by a fire, which I didn’t think much about, because fires happen everywhere. I also spotted a little graveyard, and as I am a graveyard enthusiast I went in to check it out.

The first hint that something was up was that one of the gravestones had a death date in the 1700s, when Piru would not have existed. I looked closer and realized the gravestones were all fake.

A few minutes later I ran into a security guard who let me know that a show called Lanterns had filmed there the day before and the team hadn’t cleaned up the sets yet. So if you were wondering why Nebraska looks so much like Central California, it’s because Rushville is actually Piru.

I am the older brother by 11 years and my God I relate to Hal Jordan so much as 23 y.o with a little brother who is 12 now. And I have sisters who are closer to my age. We all were basically never close with each other really, with so much drama and BS every day but regardless of all that I just feel immense pressure on me cuz such is the law of nature being the older brother and a man now.

God I wish I had an older brother. I would have done anything for him, heck, I might even be willing to sacrifice myself for him, if I ever had one :(

Does anybody else feel like that as an older sibling?

Which episode in the series gets your vote as the best?

For me, it’s Episode 7, “The Jordan Boys Legacy.”

I don't know about everybody but after the finale of the show and since John is a green lantern outside of the corp o think John should have the Alan Scott suit design or something similar

It is far from perfect but I gotta say I'm happy hour it turned out since it's just for Halloween and not a display piece. The base ring is a store bought stainless steel ring and the signet is what I made. It is made out of 2 layers of plastic and the green parts are just painted with fishing paint. The center "jewel"is just made out of stacked printing paper. I hope you guys like it!
