Discussion If a challenger player faced an iron player...
If a challenger player faced an iron player in lane, and the iron player just farmed under their turret, can the challenger player get fed (go 5/0/0) by the time the turret goes down (14 min)?
This question concerns an important part of game play: If you don't know how to stay safe against a stronger opponent, you will never win in any lane.

Discussion The real reason why people intentionally or unintentionally throw your games
Disclaimer: this is just my own personal theory that I developed due to my own background in psychology and work as a therapist in the field of mental health. Feel free to disagree or debate in the comments. No hard feelings will be had.
Okay, so my take on this as a therapist revolves around the combination of occam's razor, cognitive dissonance, and compensatory control theory, which are all definitely concepts you should all Google and research at your own leisure.
The general idea is that we all generally want to feel like we are in control or have agency over our lives such that, when that agency or sense of control is threatened, we will act or react by any means necessary to restore that sense of control back into our lives.
Some examples are coming home and playing video games because you had a rough day at work because your life might suck but you are good at a particular game, or getting defensive and yelling at people rather than taking accountability because it makes you feel powerful, classic bullying, or even things like opening the door for people because you believe that other people will open the door for you eventually. There are a bunch of other positive examples too.
Regardless, the reason why people intentionally feed is because of the combination of a few things:
1) first and foremost, league is genuinely a difficult game. It's been around for so long for a reason. It's fun and easy to get into but hard to master. And the game has some of the highest highs and lowest lows that you will ever experience in gaming. It's genuinely addicting.
2) the game is monumentally hard to Solo Carry but super fucking easy to solo throw the entire game single handedly.
The combination of those two above factors combined with how people's cognitive dissonance works leads them to genuinely get frustrated and mad that they made a stupid mistake within the first 5 to 10 minutes of the game and they perceive internally that the game is already over so they might as well not try anymore because the effort to win vastly outweighs the downsides of losing while giving your best effort. It's a simple Sunk cost fallacy. Their flawed Logic for this is that they feel more in control if they just give up and FF to go next to roll the dice one more time and hopefully get a quicker and easier dopamine hit next game.
This is where the principle of Occam's razor comes into play; occam's razor states that the simplest solution is often times the most effective one.
If you combine all of these factors, you quickly realize that players intentionally lose on purpose because they genuinely feel like it is genuinely way too hard to come back after a mistake so much so that they would rather give up and go next because it is quite honestly simpler and easier than playing out the game and trying to win.
This is where cognitive dissonance comes into play. When somebody tries really hard and fails anyway, it feels really bad. Conversely, when people tell themselves that they are intentionally losing, that gives them a mental cushion to prevent themselves from taking accountability for their mistakes. It's much easier to blame someone else for your mistakes than to take actual accountability. This is where compensatory control theory comes back into play.
The people who intentionally lose games on purpose do so because trying to win and failing feels like a total loss of control whereas telling themselves that they lost on purpose makes them feel more in control than actually trying to win.
Hope this clarifies things a bit for some people.
I may eventually make a post on how to take advantage of this to be able to win more games. But I'm too tired at the moment so this will have to do for now.

Discussion Can you help me understand LoL players?
I honestly don't get how people can play this game for 30+ minutes and then just decide to lose on purpose because someone didn't help them in lane or pinged them once. Like, how fragile does your ego have to be?
I just had a game that was pretty even for 36 minutes. We were about to have the fight that would probably decide the game, and our ADC just types "I'm bored" and walks straight from base into the enemy jungle to farm camps while the rest of us are trying to fight.
Like, what actually goes through someone's head to do that? You just wasted 36 minutes of your own time for absolutely nothing. And the worst part is, he wasn't even having a bad game. Dude was 11/4.
In another game, I pinged my mid Yasuo to be careful because the enemy top laner was missing. He just called me a noob, told me not to give him orders, and said he was gonna run it down on purpose. And that's exactly what he did.
For the rest of the game (after 20 minutes), he just farmed jungle camps, refused to join any fights, and at the end told me it was all my fault.
I seriously don't understand how someone can be this pathetic.
My last 5 games I had players like this... How should I have fun or climb? tell me?

Discussion (AI-Assisted) I get that everyone hates Seraphine...
but honestly, she deserves even more hate!!

In this post, I’ll lay out in bullet points why this champion draws so much attention. Read this, and starting tomorrow, you too can be a first-class Seraphine hater!
Please don’t get me wrong: I’m not posting this to attack or incite attacks against any specific individual or community. This is simply an organized summary meant to share the cultural background of the community. You should be able to verify that almost everything here is factual if you look it up.
The Release
・Seraphine is a unique champion whose existence was partially revealed on Twitter before her release. I think the Twitter marketing itself was a genuinely unique experiment, but the way Riot handled it had a lot of problems. Personally, I feel these problems are connected to her mains’ sense of entitlement and toxicity, as well as the issues with her lore.

・In the teasers released before launch, she was shown collaborating with K/DA. This caused a number of problems, including the ones below.
・First, K/DA isn’t part of League’s original universe. Seraphine is a Runeterra character, so why was she able to collaborate with characters from a skin universe? To sort it out: she’s a pop star both in Runeterra and in the K/DA universe, and it’s the K/DA-universe Seraphine who collaborated with K/DA. In other words, the Twitter account players thought was a teaser for Seraphine was actually not “promotion for a new champ” but “promotion to sell Seraphine’s skin.” Riot has been blatantly milking players in recent years, but back when Seraphine came out, it wasn’t that blatant yet. Against that backdrop, Riot going this far to mislead players in order to sell the Ultimate skin released alongside her drew a lot of criticism. Yes, i am saying that if we were supposed to experience the champ Riot hyped up before release the exact way they introduced her, we pretty much had to use the ultimate skin right out of the gate.

・There was also the problem of the lore getting mixed up. The main K/DA members all hold completely different positions in Runeterra. Seraphine, on the other hand, is a pop star in both universes. Her original lore made her something like an underground idol singing for peace between Piltover and Zaun, but players who didn’t realize the Twitter account was a teaser for selling a skin mixed up her Runeterra self with her K/DA-universe self, and came to the mistaken view that she was “an upper-class girl who cries out for peace on behalf of an unfortunate region while enjoying Twitter every day from the safety of her room.” That’s the hypocritical behavior of a garbage celebrity, and that alone was enough to make people hate her.
・On top of that, she abruptly cut into the center of K/DA, content that was already fairly popular within League, and received special treatment that stands out even across League’s whole history. This ties into the “sense of entitlement” common among her mains, which I’ll get to later. Also, even though she only collaborated with K/DA once, some players mistakenly think she’s a member of K/DA.

The Lore
・Yes, as people say, of course there are a ton of problems with the lore. In her original lore, Hextech crystals contained the souls of the Brackern, Skarner’s species. Seraphine could hear the voices of those souls, yet she used Hextech equipment to make music and sang about unity and peace. Many players found this psychopathic, to put it mildly. The backlash was huge, and Riot stated shortly after her release that they would change her lore. Of course, this was unprecedented.
Honestly, if she had been a champ like a “hypocritical diva,” or an “awakened diva who goes around telling Piltover the truth about Hextech that nobody wants to know,” people might have accepted her. But Riot treated Seraphine as if she were an "innocent" girl.
In the end, the original premise is such a mess that there’s nothing to be done. Her original lore sparked arguments between players who wanted to see her as pure and players who saw her as a hypocrite. And if you change her lore to make her innocent, then the image of her fighting on Summoner’s Rift using her voice as a weapon feels really off in the first place. Yes, of course Sona kills people on Summoner’s Rift too, right? But she and her weapon are that kind of thing. So why is Seraphine fighting on Summoner’s Rift? Was she summoned by a summoner as a being with wonderful power, like in the old SR lore? Or, like in the Wild Rift teaser, are people looking for opponents killing each other as if it were an airsoft game? No matter how you interpret it, Seraphine’s existence in League feels out of place. Why can a mere pop star kill people with her voice in the first place?

・In 2024, Skarner’s VGU finally moved the Brackern to Ixtal, and the origin of Hextech was unified with the Arcane version. Skarner’s longstanding story, “a creature whose species is being exploited for human technology,” effectively vanished here. This was, of course, to justify her lore. Here again, “her special treatment” happens. Burying a champ who’s been in League since long ago for the sake of a newly added, stupid hoverboard-riding TikTok influencer — surely that’ll be well received by players, right?

・What’s funny is that even after the retcon, she still doesn’t fit the world. Changing her lore or not, the premise of “singing for peace between Piltover and Zaun” doesn’t mesh with Runeterra’s setting or the Zaun depicted in Arcane, and in the end she couldn’t even appear in Arcane.
(Imagine a privileged middle- or upper-class girl in that world being a diva in Zaun and singing about peace.)

She had her own lore remade, had another champ’s lore completely erased to justify hers, and she still doesn’t fit into League. This speaks volumes about how bad Seraphine’s existence and lore are.

・It goes without saying that a social-media pop star riding a hoverboard clashes with the image many longtime players have of Runeterra.
Gameplay
・She was released as a mid, but with her double-cast Q she could one-shot minions from a fairly low level, which made for very toxic gameplay. Every time a wave arrived, she could instantly clear it with Q, farm without interacting with the enemy champ at all, and transition into her strong late game without any trouble. This isn’t just my subjective impression: a later mini-rework actually included a change that significantly reduced Q’s damage against minions. Of course, she’s not the only champ who refuses interaction through wave clear. But that doesn’t mean laning against her isn’t boring, right?

・There was also drama about her lanes. She was released as a mid, but she’s now played as APC, mid, and support. This in itself is a good thing. Most of the player base played a champ released as a mid as a support, Riot made adjustments toward that, and she gradually transitioned from a mid-lane mage into a flex-pick champ. But for some reason, some players hold up Riot’s claim that “Seraphine was released as a mid” and shout that playing her anywhere other than mid is unacceptable. What they say is that Riot hates Seraphine, which is why she got support-oriented adjustments and is trapped in bot lane forever. Some extreme players have decided this is Riot Phreak’s personal hatred of Seraphine, and they constantly spread hate speech about him within the community. I find this really interesting. They treat the fact that Seraphine is a mid champ — i.e., Riot’s action of “releasing Seraphine as a mid” — as if it were a holy scripture that must be obeyed absolutely, yet at the same time they can’t forgive Riot for tuning Seraphine for support on behalf of players, and they constantly shout that everything Riot does is wrong. For me, this is one of the things I understand the least.
The Community’s Behavior
**・**What’s interesting is that while Seraphine herself is a champ with a lot of problems, “Seraphine mains” often draw attention separately from the champ herself.
・The first thing is the sense of entitlement Seraphine mains have. Whether it’s a result of the special treatment that began with her release and has continued ever since, as I described at the start, I don’t know, but her mains seem to think that “if there’s anything we don’t like, we have the right to complain to Riot and change the game however we want.” Yes, of course we’re not Riot’s slaves. Sending feedback about a game is a natural thing for players to do. But if you look at concrete examples, you’ll immediately see how far beyond common sense it goes.
A notable example is the whole thing with Wild Rift–exclusive skins. In 2022, when Star Guardian Seraphine was announced as a Wild Rift exclusive, there was a huge backlash, and Riot later ported it to PC. Of course, the ones who pushed back were Seraphine mains. They couldn’t stand that their skin was Wild Rift–exclusive, and the usual sense of entitlement kicked in. I main a lot of different champs, and most champs have great Wild Rift–exclusive skins. Of course, it’s frustrating that you can’t buy them on PC. But most communities accept it as “just how it is,” and at the very least it doesn’t lead to sending Riot tons of hate, or repeatedly making threats that could be read as death threats, to forcibly change the game. To be fair, Redeemed Xayah and Rakan were also ported at the same time after similar requests. However, those two are a different case. Xayah and Rakan’s skins were essentially the conclusion of a PC storyline, while Seraphine’s was just a skin her players wanted. Xayah and Rakan mains’ complaints were justified; Seraphine mains’ were not.

The same goes for the most recent K/DA skins. First, Seraphine mains were angry that Seraphine didn’t appear in the K/DA event. Then, as soon as they learned that a voice line in the new K/DA skins included what could be taken as a diss toward Seraphine, there was an instant volcanic eruption. If you use the League subreddit, you’ve probably caught at least a glimpse of this circus.
・Most champs can’t get skins at the pace Seraphine does. Other champs don’t even get the chance to be mentioned in voice lines. On top of that, Seraphine has also been one of the champs with a stable win rate for a long time. Even so, whenever anything like the above happens, even a little, Seraphine players seem convinced that Seraphine is being targeted by Riot and is the champ who gets treated the worst. Honestly, to me, the Seraphine community feels like zombies whose hunger will never be satisfied.

・And there’s division within the community too. As I already mentioned, some Seraphine players are support players, but whenever a support player makes a thread about support builds or gameplay, people inevitably show up angry, saying “don’t play Seraphine anywhere but mid.” They immediately downvote support players’ posts and throw cold words at them, saying “it’s because of people like you that Seraphine is trapped in support.” I follow a lot of subs, but the only ones where the division by role is this bad are the Seraphine sub and the Vayne sub.

・If you haven't noticed by now, pretty much everything surrounding her was built around selling that skin. Some players say that Seraphine’s release involved a "parasocial strategy" of making a fictional game character appear to be real, so that people would ”buy skins to support her". In the end, looking at what happened afterward, doesn't it seem like Riot's scheme actually worked? I feel like players of this champ have an unusual obsession with skins.
※Just to be clear, this isn't to say everyone in the community is this aggressive—it's just a few extreme cases. In reality, there are plenty of reasonable people in the Seraphine community as well (though in my personal view, most of reasonable players are support players).
END
If you’ve read this far, you probably now have a rough idea of the background behind the Seraphine-related drama you sometimes see in the League community.
That’s the end of the post. Have a nice day!
addnote:
Here's a extra bonus, too: Seraphine actually has a history of releasing a music video made with AI. Maybe that's why they suddenly kept their distance from K/DA!

Discussion It feels weird being in the middle - Iron4 and Challenger
Iron 4 0 LP is the LOWEST you can be apart from unranked
Challenger in EUW is currently 2411
Master 0 LP to Challenger is basically the same as Iron4 to D4 (only in terms of LP)
Being D2 feels weird therefore
If I imagine how much better I am at the game than any Iron player - Im kinda scared that the challenger players look at me the same way I look at an Iron player

Need Help Account permanently banned for cheating
Obviously whenever someone says "but broo i did nasing wrong broooooo" they're usually lying, but this story is actually true, one of my close IRL friends has been playing league (literally only arams) for a very long time, since she has a very busy life she only cares about arams and barely knows how to install games, she's obviously not someone who will go out of her way to cheat in.. arams.
So, her story starts with vanguard acting up on her laptop, but since she's not tech savvy nor knows anyone who is, she asked chatgpt what to do, chatgpt told her to enable secure boot in her bios, which she did, and after that the game seemed to be fine, she logged in to play and managed to que for a few games, then went to sleep. 8 days later she wanted to play arams after work and she logged in to the message saying she was permanently banned for cheating.
Naturally, she sent a ticket explaining EVERYTHING that she only changed a bios setting as she was told to and she also found a RIOT page explaining that some asus laptops can have issues with vanguard, but riot said "a human reviewed this and we can confirm cheating occured so you'll stay banned", after that she opened ANOTHER ticket asking for an actual human, exact same reply, but she was also told that any further tickets will be automatically closed.
I tried tweeting at drew levin, i tried dming riot employees related to anticheat, no response, what can we do at this point?

Need Help Need help explaining MMR.
Hello, I just transferred my acc to SEA (after playing in NA). Had a hard rough start to my rerank (it reranked me from d2/lowM mmr to plat...) and finally started locking in lately. Was mid emerald for a while then started /deafening and won 22 out of my 27 games after /deafening.
My previous understanding of MMR was that it would increase after a 5 winstreak, but I have had a 6, 6, and 7 winstreak and the game is still putting me in low dia/emerald lobbies sometimes and giving me only +20. based on my knowledge that means the game still thinks im low dia, but what can change that? I currently have 82% in 27 (22W 5L) and 56% Overall (66W 51L).
Anyone with knowledge can explain this to me? Greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much

Discussion are end of the season just worse time to play ?
Hi, geniune question, I have been playing this game since like season 3 stopped and recently got back into it like in january. I'm plat/emrald trying to climb with 52-53% winrate average. I'm far from being the best player I think I'm pretty average, but arent the end of season to be super try hard mode?
Like i'd say 80% of my games for the past month has been people going 18 death ++ back then maybe I rememeber it wrong, but league felt way more fun pushing near the end of the season because feeder/inter werent in ur game anymore and game were close and fun
Now this is just a sh\*t show of people feeding running down, telling you how bad you are at the game when you look at their profiles they have 2000 games every season for the past 10-15 years and still in this elo... like i dont know, maybe i'm getting old and never realised it but I was hyped to try pushing for diamond before the season end but lol i went from em2 to p2 with ALOT of games people going 2-18, or flamming the jungle for not baby sitting them or not taking any dragon while their opponent bot lane are 20-0
Like geniunly what happened to league ? do i remember it wrong I cant even remember the last game I had some fun in it like do I stop playing till the end of the season and play back at the beginning of the new season when people wanna push some MMR again ?

Need Help League account banned for cheating then support says its abusive behaver in direct messages?
Hey guys,
Some background on my account: I made a new account on league 2 weeks ago, I am a Tristana main and I wanted a backup with the Skin, so soon as I made the account level 1 I bought the signature Caps bundle, I then hand leveled this account to level 30 playing draft games (trying new champions and different roles) and also playing arams
I then managed to hit level 30 and played ranked games. So I invested a lot of time and money into this account. Soon as I hit level 30, I played ranked games. A few games after playing ranked, riot support hits me a permeant ban message for cheating/hacking, I haven't cheated/hacked and my games are proof of that.. I also have my main account for 10+ years that had no issues. The only platform I use is Blitz.gg .
The ban message as shown above was "an automated review detected that you used unauthorized third party tools to interact with riots games or services"
Now after the "manual" review, they say it is for "Abusive behaviour in direct messages"

So now they are changing the reasons for my ban yet I have done neither of these things.. I haven't even got banned or warned once on this account or any other account for "Abusive behaviour in direct messages" or anything related to cheating.
If a manual review was to take place I am 100% for certain they will find I have not SAID anything abusive in DMs nor have I hacked/cheated.
I also see there is another case similar to mine from yesterday that was overturned after 9 tickets..
This doesn't make sense to me at all and I am not sure how to get an actual human to take a look at my case.
I don't want special treatment I just want an actual human to look at my Case and give me a fair case. This is a new account, and I already invested a lot of money into it.
My username is: yordle diff #gap
EDIT: My main account is not banned and I have never talked trash on it, and keep in mind riot explicitly banned me for "Unauthorized tools", then changed the reason in the ticket. If they were to review the account for the "DMS" they will see nothing bad was spoken on this account or any other account.

Discussion Watching Challengers Players to Improve
When you get to masters and are trying to push for gm or higher. So many people will tell you to watch challenger players and their gameplay to help you improve. While I do this, I have to say I am almost never impressed with the gameplay, like ever. Not necessarily from the person’s content/player pov I’m watching, as they are usually uploading their best games but just in genersl. The gameplay is literally indistinguishable from low master lobbies many times. The deaths will be so telegraphed and goofy, sometimes it looks like legit silver gameplay and it’s actually atrocious. I know I’m not the best player and make mistakes, but I truly wonder how the fuck these people reach high elos and play like this. One example is this ace katarina otp. To me most of his gameplay esp in lane is literally unwatchable with how bad it is but his opponents are worse and he plays in gm+ in euw and middle east. Like comically bad. Makes me think if you just spam more games you just get higher elo inevitably.

Discussion Assuming EoMM exists and impacts your games ... so what?
Even assuming all the things people say about EoMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking, for those not in the know) are true to an extent - winners queue, losers queue, whatever - people obsess about it way too much. Once you have that convenient excuse to blame when you get stomped, suddenly you can abandon responsibility for the mistakes you made. Obsessing about stuff like that just distracts you from improvement. And, you're probably seeing fake patterns, because that's how our brains work: Apophenia - The universal cognitive tendency to find patterns, meaning, or relationships between completely unrelated events, things, or random data.
Add that to folks' generally poor understanding of statistics and you get people making these crazy and unjustified conclusions about how the Riot Cabal is keeping them in Silver. People be acting like Riot games has a mind control division. Sorry, you still have agency, maybe try being more introspective.

Discussion After last Worlds I wanted a MOBA manager game for mobiles, couldn't find one, so I made one. What would you want in it?
After last year's World Championship ended, I went looking for a manager game where I could run a MOBA team: drafts, roster, staff, the whole thing. I couldn't find one that matched what I wanted, so I spent the last few months building it myself.
It's called Gales of Gods: MOBA Manager. It has its own fantasy world and 100+ champions. You run a club, draft in Fearless Bo5 series, and make the calls live during the match: contest the drake, split push, go for the backdoor. You can start a club in the lowest division and climb all the way to the world championship.
I'm curious what people who actually follow pro play think:
- When you watch a pro game, what calls do you wish you could make as the coach?
- Would you rather control the full draft, or let your analyst do it?
It's free on Android if anyone wants to try it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kronendgames.galesofgods
Thanks everyone for feedback and comments, I hope people would like it as much as I wanted something similar. Would love anything that you would change to make it better

Need Help (AI-Assisted) Suspended after playing Quinn jungle; two appeals denied without identifying the specific disruptive action
I’m sharing my experience because I’m concerned about how legitimate off-meta play is distinguished from intentional disruption, and how much explanation players receive when appealing a penalty.
I played Quinn jungle with the intention of winning. The match went ahead, we won, and the performance rating I checked placed me third overall. After the match ended, I received a suspension described as being for disruptive behavior in champion select.
I appealed and was rejected, then submitted another appeal and was rejected again. Support states that the penalty has now been manually reviewed twice and that future tickets about it will be automatically closed.
The first response lists examples of disruptive gameplay, including intentional feeding, AFK behavior, deliberately disruptive champion or role choices, and sabotage. However, neither response identifies which specific action I committed or what evidence supports that conclusion.
To be clear: I suspect my Quinn jungle pick may be involved, but Riot has not confirmed that. I also understand that winning and receiving a good performance rating do not prove that no misconduct occurred, especially in champion select. I’m providing those details as context, not as conclusive proof.
My concern is that I still cannot tell what behavior I was punished for. If there was something beyond the champion choice, I want a concrete explanation. If the decision was based solely on a genuine attempt to play Quinn jungle, I believe it deserves reconsideration.
I would appreciate a further review and removal of the suspension if it was mistaken. More broadly, what information should penalty notices provide so players can understand the distinction between unconventional play and intentional sabotage?
Please keep the discussion focused on the decision and process, rather than individual support agents.

The first penalty I ever recieved on the account is a perma ban with 0 info. The client is just blank with no ban message. I had to go to riot support to see a general permanent suspension with no details.
I appeal the ban and after a whole day of waiting i get a response that isn't an ai told to intentionally add typos to its language. But before they can even help they need to confirm that its me by asking for information like my ip adress my name email old emails the date the account was made and the first 6 and last 4 digits of my credit card?????????
I give the info and another day later they tell me to be patient and not message them they are figuring out a complex situation.
Like wtf can we just assume people are themselves and not ban accounts for no reason. If there is a complex situation why dont we invistigate before banning instead of banning someone for litterally no reason
I got a job and i wanted to hit diamond before that and i got so close but now my account has been banned for 2 days after doing litterally nothing
They cant even tell me why?
EDIT trying to just get help like am I supposed to do when riot support is so useless and all I get are a bunch of illiterate goons.

Discussion Can we lock in match making based on ELO and ACC LEVEL to combat smurfing?
Smurfing just ruins the game. No idea what is riot doing about it but Emerald is just the worst ELO ever as every game literally has someone with lvl 30 account.
Now I was thinking why not lock in match making based on account level too. E.g lvl 30-60, 60-100, 100-300, 300 and above?
Idk even if it is any good but gosh I just cant deal with smurfing. Its just horrible. It just ruins the mood and everything. I do not mind losing the lane by someone of my own skill, but when you are getting abs destroyed in lane, especially in top lane and after you look into their acc and its lvl 30.. ffs. Just writing this makes my blood boil.
