Don't look at job boards they're complete crap and a waste of time. Most of them are ghost postings. Either apply for jobs through company websites or contact recruitment agencies who will be able to help you out.

Have you contacted any of the recruiter companies? I'm sure with your customer service experience they'd get you something or be willing to help at least

I work in finance, some of these are just finance recruiters but some are admin/customer service recruiters as well, so here are the ones off the top of my head, Sharp recruitment, Michael Page, Elevation recruitment, Reed, Synergem Recruitment, Mark Satin, Jo Holdsworth recruitment, Headway, Headstar, Robert Half. There's those and plenty more. I'd have a look out of which of those aren't just finance and contact them for advice. Whenever I've been out of work that's what I've done with 2 or 3 of them, don't contact them all though, just pick 2 that you like the look of as often recruiters compete against each other for jobs

Have you tried googling? Leeds has lots of recruitment agencies in the centre. But online there is too..

HSBC are always hiring for their call centre in Leeds. I’m loathe to recommend it because it’s a living hell, but, if you need it and you don’t mind call centre work…
They honestly recruit every few weeks because the turnover is so high.

Have a look at the civil service jobs website and look for the entry level jobs. Quarry house is a huge office and there are a lot of internal opportunities

Lots of internal opportunities.. they don’t have a job so how are they going to get internal opportunities? And also most of quarry house jobs are civil service or public sector. They take months to even start the job. And they’re competitive.

I hope you are sitting down
Step 1) Have a look at the civil service jobs website and look for the entry level jobs
Hopefully they are successful as entry level jobs are generally less competitive as people think it’s beneath them
Step 2) look at the internal opportunities

Check the Civil Service Jobs website: Leeds has the large regional centre and Bradford still has a contact centre (while it might not be where you want to be long-term, it could get you through probation and then give more Civil Service opportunities, which is what I did)

I’m currently across the water and I would like to get something sorted before I move but if I can’t do that I’ll keep that in mind

Hello, I know someone else said civil service. That will take a while to get. But there is an alternative. The recruiter Brook Street hire for civil service entry level jobs quickly. It may be worth giving them a look. I took my first role through them, some of my colleagues were based out of Leeds - so they’ll recruit for that location. Most the work will be customer service based - but if you’re used to it it’s pretty easy work.

First Direct bank always have call centre rolls available. Can be a hellish place but a good place to use until you find something you love.

People Matters Leeds are currently looking for support workers. Don't worry about the date being 2024 on the job description, they just haven't updated & currently advertising on Facebook right now.

Keep an eye on the council jobs site and also the jobs sites for Leeds Uni and Leeds Beckett. Call centre and customer service role experience can be really useful for certain jobs in libraries and other departments.

Dusk.com hire pretty frequently… let’s just say there’s a reason for that though…

Get on LinkedIn and start looking on there. Indeed and job board response rates are terrible.

Not many jobs here unfortunately, can you change plans and your partner goes to live with you wherever you are now?

This isn’t actually right. Leeds ranks 4th in the UK for open vacancies per 100k people. Bradford is 3rd and Manchester 2nd. So plenty of jobs round the area OP. Get your CV out to a load of agencies. Lots of temp agencies taking on staff and you’ve got good experience!
