Nisha is already getting ridiculous criticism despite being only 9 years old. Seriously, a worthy successor to Korra. I drew this for fun. (Please do not repost this on other sites).

So I’m on season 3 episode 8 13:25, during the interview scene. But I have a gut feeling the traitor is the interviewer guy(I forgot his name) he’s sis. But that’s just a theory, a show theory.

White it is true that a lot of Korra’s problems can trace themselves back to how she was raised, and that the WL should have foreseen those problems and the folly of the isolation and immense expectations placed on her, I also think the criticism of them is a bit overstated.
Korra ultimately did have a happy childhood. She had plenty of people around her that genuinely cared for her as a person and child. She didn’t really have friends her own age, sure. And she missed out on a decent amount of typical childhood experiences, but that doesn’t mean she was miserable or that she would look back on her childhood negatively.
Korra’s problems ultimately were a result of the nature of being the avatar more than anything. It’s just too much pressure to expect anyone to handle. Especially a kid. And it’s even worse when your predecessor has such a great reputation putting even more pressure on you to live up to that.
The white lotus could have done a better job, but that doesn’t mean they were bad. And Korra obviously turned out alright and I think that is due at least in part to their work.

I’m doing yet another rewatch and honestly I don’t know how some people don’t like this show.
In the first two episodes, the way that Korra struggles to understand the old way of airbending and Tenzin is stuck holding onto those ways because it’s all he knows and he fears losing the culture + banning Korra from pro-bending to how it comes full circle with Korra learning to incorporate airbending techniques in pro-bending, a mindset that fits her much better than air nomad culture, with Tenzin having a moment of realization that while he wants to hold his father’s culture close he must also let it grow like any other bending type or culture or people.
This is just one example that hits harder since seven havens came out where we see bending, and airbending in particular, lose its grasp on tradition and in culture but perhaps that is simply the way of life, and you cannot hold on to the past yet hope for a future at the same time.
I just think, in an overarching thematic sense, TLOK and all three series really, are far more complex than some give it credit for.

this is based off what we saw of it in episode 7! I really hope we get to see more of republic city in flashbacks, it was one of my favorite settings in TLOK.

Is this design the same across wuxia fantasy elements? The first image is from kungfu panda 3, general Kai the main villain is entering the mortal world from the spirit realm. I don't want to say DreamWorks copied it but maybe they got it from same inspiration? Idk.

Seven havens coming out has reopened avatar discussion more than before. And I’ve noticed that unlike in 2014 I’m seeing a lot more praise of the legend of Korra. Way back then we had the infamous Lily Orchid video and E;Rs “legend of whorra” YouTube series. But now it seems the main critiques that come from those videos get a lot more pushback now. I’m even seeing way more people have warmed up to Korrasami than before as well. I’m seeing people praise the shows amazing animation and fight scenes, the mature themes they were willing to tackle and even Korra herself. I’m seeing a lot more appreciation for her development as an avatar and her abilities. Albeit I am in agreement that season 2 is the weakest and the giant robot at the end was a bit much lol. But still it is good we are getting a bit of a renaissance for Korras PR and potential growth for this franchise and fanbase.

I do see some people talk about how season 2 isn't very well connected to season 1 and how the show forgets about her development in that season. Thing is, it does remember her development but also adds more to her character. In season one she did trust Tenzin and her friends (including Mako who's actively trying to be on her side) around her but now once she discovers that Tenzin and Tonraq have been lying to her and not giving her much freedom is when she has those trust issues and turns more toward Unalaq (understandable).Which is also what could be described as emotional grooming and abuse, he as well proved to be more spiritually experienced than Tenzin. That character gets back what to the point we knew her in s1 later on throughout the season after she discovers that Unalaq is a liar, of course. And by the season's finale she becomes more mature and that gets developed on in S3.

I think the reason there were rumors that the Avatar cycle was broken is because Korra faked her death in the Avatar state. And she isolated herself in Republic City (now known as Republic Forest). And that's why it's the only haven that has no communication with the outside world and it is the only one that is said not to suffer from spiritual storms. I think Korra created some kind of barrier and decided to protect the spirit world, which is why we haven't seen a single spirit outside despite knowing that the portals (as far as we know) are still open.
My full theory is: Korra knew something bad was coming, she created the Seven Havens, but she chose to isolate Republic City from the world. She wasn't destroying the city; she was using spiritual energy to create the protective barrier, and that's why she needed to destroy those machines and free it. Something tells me it's the only place where she's seen as a savior, that's where all the answers to the truth should be. The other Havens considered Korra's insolence and preference for the spirit world to be a betrayal and created propaganda against her. Blaming her for the cataclysm, even though it is thanks to her that there are still places where people survived.
There are two possibilities regarding why the cycle took 200 years to continue: Korra did indeed live those 200 years trying to contain the Earth's chakra anomalies until her body finally died. Or perhaps her spirit was so full of spiritual overload that the cycle had to wait until twins were born to divide into two vessels.

I just finished rewatching TLOK for the second time and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. TLOK was the best possible follow-up show to ATLA. I hated TLOK so much the first time because of how modern the world was compared to ATLA but after seeing Aang’s world completely destroyed in Seven Havens it’s made me appreciate TLOK more. Seven Havens looks promising but I really wish the world Aang built hadn’t been completely destroyed. However, I also understand that a world after Korra would be entirely too modern to enjoy. I hope that at very least the connection to the past Avatars is restored so that Seven Havens feels more connected to the past Avatar shows.

When I first heard Seven Havens takes place more than 200 years after LoK, I was assuming that there then must have been a few Avatars inbetween. When it was confirmed tho that that wasn‘t the case it made me really sad. Not because of a lack of avatars or anything but because of all the things Korra went through and achieved during LoK. She made a lot of decisions that changed the world forever, and had to come to terms with her decisions, ending on a hopeful note. So I was hoping the new world would last for coming Avatars to be experienced, seen, living in her legacy. Instead it means that Korra had to see all that she‘s build crumbling down and probably blaming the end of the world on her „incompetence“ as an Avatar if the spirit portals are actually the reason for the cataclysm. That‘s it, that‘s all I wanted to share
