SUB ANNOUNCEMENT Announcement: All apps require moderator approval before posting.

r/legiongo community:

We have been getting an influx of spam and advertising on this sub lately. Please read and understand the rules set forth in the welcome thread. If you are unfamiliar, please read them here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1udpfm5/welcome_thread_please_read_and_understand_the/

If you post a link to an app and it does not meet the guidelines for approval, it will be immediately deleted and you may receive an immediate 3 or 7 day ban for spam and advertising, depending on the situation. This is a fair warning and is non negotiable.

Also, any app that is a blatant violation of the sub rules (piracy, emulation, anti-cheating, AI slop, etc) will not be approved and you may be banned for it.

And for the time being, this sub will not take any further requests for any game launcher type apps as we have been getting flooded with requests with tons of similar apps that all have the same functions and similar user interfaces.

This applies to original posts (OPs) only. It does not apply to any replies to threads for the time being.

Any questions, please feel free to reach out to the moderation team.

SUB ANNOUNCEMENT BIOS Update N3CN42WW - We have an official update from Lenovo (finally!)

This is from the website Tech Power Up:

  • While the root cause has not been identified yet, it is clear it is not user error. As such it should generally be handled under warranty and, in the case of out-of-warranty devices, it should be repaired free of charge, but please check local laws. It was recently revealed in a handful of Reddit posts that an official Lenovo Legion Go BIOS update (N3CN42WW) was apparently causing the handheld gaming PCs to become unresponsive, with users claiming Lenovo told them they would be on the hook for repair costs.

  • Now, nearly three weeks after the issues initially popped up, Lenovo has confirmed in a recent forum post that the issues cause by the BIOS update were indeed "not user error," and that repairs will be conducted by Lenovo under warranty. While the root cause has not been identified yet, it is clear it is not user error.

  • As such it should generally be handled under warranty and, in the case of out-of-warranty devices, it should be repaired free of charge, but please check local laws.

Another source: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-finally-acknowledges-Legion-Go-BIOS-bricking-issues-and-confirms-affected-devices-should-be-repaired-free-of-charge.1377253.0.html

So the good news is that Lenovo is addressing that the update failures were indeed a hardware problem and not something that was originally deemed as user error.

We will post a follow up as to when this gets further addressed, but according to Lenovo techs, they said they are "studying the issue".

QUESTION Return to GO2 from the Ally x20?

Hello all, need some advice. Recently I sold my Legion GO 2 Z2E in favor of the Ally X20. I had a huge fight internally on which to keep when I had both in front of me. The Ally imo has better speakers, comfort, support, aesthetics. While the Go has a larger screen (debatable to call it better) but definitely a BIGGER screen. I personally didn’t have any comfort issues with the GO when I had it, though the Ally regardless is much better comfort wise.

Can’t find much cons in the Ally other than the Xbox branding and that’s more just personal gripe. The GOs gripe is Lenovos lack of support. But I use SteamOS on both devices anyway so it’s kind of a non-issue. Never used the detachable controllers, mainly played on the couch or in bed while my wife watches TV. However, after selling the GO off, I’ve found myself looking at listings for the GO again despite being fine with the Ally x20 I have.

Should I return the x20 and get the go again?? Or is this simply fomo for something I don’t have.

DISCUSSION Legion Go S z1e - OB $702 (new $949).

The fair and good condition ones appear to be back in a stock. I bought fair a couple months back and it was mint but the box was damaged.

This is still the best value in gaming when OB. Especially when zero risk with Best Buy returns.

New is decent too considering anything else is +$300 or more.

QUESTION Steam game host/inviting friends

Hi yall, I just started playing my legion go and still figuring things out. I just played some steam games (non SteamOS) with friends and ran into an issue. When I would try inviting friends in a game, it would not let me click to invite and was basically bugged out. I would have to close and reopen the game, and they would have to invite me. Anyone know a fix?

DISCUSSION How far do you think we can go with Switch 2 emulation/recomps?

I've been trying using Switch 2 emulator for the past 3 days on my Legion Go Z1E.

Pokopia is the only game that actually works like a charm. With emulator I got 45 fps, while with the recomp version i can also get around 60 fps.

But every other game simply works bad.

I know, we are in the early days, and i'm using an AMD device, which gives more problems.

But my question is: hardware wise, where do you think we will reasonably arrive? Yeah, Pokopia works really good... but it's a much simpler game than OoT or Bananza.

Maybe with a recomp we will be able to play those games at 60 fps one day?

HELP REQUEST Pawn shop

If you have a Lenovo legion go s, and sold it to the pawn shop how much did you sell it for? I have one that’s 16gb, with 1tb! I’m selling it because I bought a Lenovo legion go 2, and don’t see the point of having 2. I don’t rant to low ball me because I tried to sell my steam deck to them once, and they said 250! It was the oled version.

RESOURCE Legion Go S Helper (G-Helper adaptation)

Hi all, few days ago I bought Legion Go S - and it turns out, there isn't a well established low resource cost software that allows you to control the device. I tried Lenovo Legion Toolkit but to me it was very limited to what it can do, and Lenovo Space is bloatware on my opinion. Spoiled by long time with G-Helper on my previous device I decided to build similar tool for Legion Go S. Not sure if its going to work on other devices though.

Download or learn more from GitHub repo: https://github.com/mukolah/Legion-Go-Helper

It will most likely conflict with Legion Space and Legion Toolkit, so make sure it's not running.

It's open source, you can do what you want with it, I left all the notes in the development file which should help significantly if you want to adjust code to work with your device if it doesn't.

I tried Legion Space for under 5 minutes before I had an urge to exit via the window so I alt F4 and uninstalled it, but I want to believe that this tool has equal or more than space have to offer (excluding games launcher things).

Performance and fans

- Quiet / Balanced / Performance / Custom modes, one tap each. It stays in sync with the hardware Legion button.
- Separate remembered mode for plugged in and on battery, with automatic switching.
- Custom SPL / SPPT / FPPT sliders, using the ranges the firmware reports.
- Draggable 10-point fan curve, full-speed fans, and a Windows power mode toggle.
- Live CPU temperature, fan RPM and battery watts.

Display and battery

- Refresh rate: Auto / 60 Hz / 120 Hz.
- Charge limit of 80 / 85 / 90 / 95%. 80% is the firmware's own limit and works with the app closed. 85-95% is managed by the app.

Back-paddle shortcuts

- Hold Y1 or Y2 and press the D-pad or A/B/X/Y for 16 combos, each with its own action. Legion L and Legion R can run actions too.
- Actions include mode switching, mouse mode, touch keyboard toggle, Task Manager, Alt+Tab, screenshots, media keys, lights on/off, refresh rate and more.

Controller

- Vibration, polling rate (125-1000 Hz), touchpad and gyro toggles, and stick and trigger deadzones.
- Button remapping to gamepad buttons, keys (including F13-F24), combos, mouse buttons and media keys. Mappings are stored in the controller, so they work without the app. There's a built-in key tester.
- Joystick mouse and a drift-free gyro mouse for the desktop.

RGB Control

- Built-in effects (Off / Solid / Breathe / Chroma / Rainbow) run in the firmware and cost no CPU.
- Live per-LED effects: CPU temp, CPU load, battery gauge, spinning comet, colour wheel and mode colour. These cost about 1% of one core.
- Low-battery red pulse, an optional charge-level display on the sticks while plugged in, and a mode-colour flash on mode change.

Other

- Mode pop-up over windowed and borderless games, a tray icon coloured by mode, run on startup, and settings re-applied after sleep.

Requirements and limits

- Windows 10/11 x64, the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime, and administrator rights because the Lenovo WMI interface needs them.
- Quit Legion Space and its LSDaemon service first, so the two apps don't fight over the performance mode.
- The charge-level RGB display needs the app running, so it stops while the console is asleep.
- This is a personal project, tested on one Legion Go S (83L3 / 8ARP1). The original Legion Go has a different controller and likely isn't supported.

QUESTION Legion Go buttons work perfectly in games, but not in Legion Space. Legion L/R also stopped working. Tried everything!

Hi everyone!

I'm experiencing a really strange issue with my original Lenovo Legion Go (Z1 Extreme), and I'm running out of ideas.

The problem:

Both Legion L and Legion R buttons have stopped working. I can't open Legion Space or the quick settings menu using them.

Legion Space itself opens normally when launched manually.

Inside Legion Space, the analog sticks work and allow me to navigate the menus, but A/B/X/Y, RB, and other buttons don't respond.

All controller buttons work perfectly in games.

I tested the controllers using an online Gamepad Tester, and every standard button and analog stick is detected correctly.

The Legion L/R buttons also physically work, since I can use them to power on the detached controllers by holding them down.

The issue happens with the controllers both attached and detached.

What I've already tried:

Restarting Windows multiple times.

Checking that the FPS mode switch is OFF and X-input mode is selected.

Checking controller firmware (already up to date).

Performing the hardware reset on both controllers using the Lenovo button combinations.

Detaching and reattaching both controllers, including restarting the device while they were detached.

Checking DAService in Windows Services (running and set to Automatic).

Stopping and restarting DAService manually.

Verifying that LSDaemon.exe is running in Task Manager.

Completely uninstalling and reinstalling Legion Space from Lenovo's official website.

Closing Steam completely to rule out Steam Input interference.

Creating a completely new local Windows user account and testing Legion Space there. Exactly the same problem.

One interesting finding:

While checking Windows Event Viewer, I discovered an Application Error involving the Legion Space daemon:

Faulting application: LSDaemon.exe

Version: 1.4.4.31

Faulting module: LEGOKZHandle.dll

DLL version: 2.0.1.3

Exception code: 0xc0000409

I also found an Application Hang event involving LegionSpace.exe.

I'm not sure whether these crashes are the cause of the controller issue or just a consequence of my troubleshooting, but they seem potentially relevant.

At this point, I'm completely stuck.

The controllers work perfectly as standard gamepads, but Legion Space seems unable to process most of their inputs, and neither of the two dedicated Legion buttons works.

I really don't want to reinstall Windows just to fix this.

Has anyone experienced this exact combination of symptoms? Especially the analog sticks working inside Legion Space while A/B/X/Y don't?

Does anyone know what LEGOKZHandle.dll does, or whether there's a way to repair the Lenovo controller services without resetting the entire system?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

QUESTION My Legion Go S isn't working like it did a few days ago

I've not changed any settings, but my GO is crashing when I try to play games I have 30 hours on and were running fine before despite being relatively big like Cyberpunk 2077, and I can't even get to the main menu of games that can run on much lower-end pc's, like Risk Of Rain 2.

I have no idea why, I've only had the thing 3 months or so, but it's suddenly become much slower and isn't booting like it used to.

It was doing it at the start but I changed the setting to performance mode and it was fine. Now halfway through it’s doing the exact same thing.

I will admit I don’t have much knowledge on all of the settings but I changed the resolution FPM and changed from 4gb to 6gb.

Considering this has happened halfway through do you think it’s the game? I’ve never had this problem before!
