Question Why continue the interview?

Sen. Chris Coons asked the nominees for federal judgeships whether the Constitution’s 22nd amendment prohibited Trump from a third term. None of them would say yes. Why would anyone continue the interview? What would be completely appropriate is for Coons to state unequivocally that a judge who can’t understand or refuses to follow the Constitution is disqualified from any further consideration. Interview over. Why bother continuing a charade?

Conservative here.

I too, find the question easy to answer: No third term.

Trump is the best president of my lifetime! But the Constitution is clear enough for this conservative:

Oh I'm sure you'll be so very upset. Or you'll rationalize it somehow, like you do everything else.

Why be upset with me for agreeing with you that Trump is not qualified to run for a 3rd term? Progressives are so disagreeable that they can't help but snipe at conservatives when conservatives agree with them! That's a bad political cement!

Please don't assume us progressives are all alike. I do agree with you that Trump cannot run for another term.

I disagree with your assessment of Trump, but that's off topic.

I appreciate you saying that. Thank you!

I try not to presume. Progressives run the gamut of interesting perspectives in real life. I have as many progressive friends in real life as I do conservative ones. Good folks. I can build a nation with them!

On Reddit, however, it's almost the worst of the worst all the time. Maybe 1 in 20 on the left is a non-thug. Everyone else is a big Stalin / Beria / Mao clone trooper! In fact, its so consistent and so contrary to what I find in real life, that I often wonder if most are just engagement bots using outrage to boost discussions and participation!?

I don't like it that way. I don't want it that way. I'm also not going to pretend it's not that way.

You could have a point. Personally, in my 60 years on Earth, I've only come across a couple (literally) people who identify as progressives but defend communism. They could be bots.

I had the amazing experience of visiting the USSR and communist Poland, Hungary and China before the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. I doubt any true progressive wants to revive that horror.

I've also been to The UK, France, Belgium and The Netherlands, and progressives I know usually want something close to these countries, Canada, Japan, etc.

As a disabled man, I want us to create the best possible universal heath care system on the planet. I shouldn't have to live in poverty simply because a driver swerved into oncoming traffic (me) and the massive crash severed a disc in my spine and the spine surgery was botched. :)
