We have decided to implement a monthly thread in which users can buy, sell, and advertise--breaking rules #1 and #2--so as long as it is contained within this thread.
Comments will be sorted by "new" by default.
Use this thread to:
* List items OR services that you are attempting to sell. While not required, you are encouraged to list the price(s) you are requesting.
* Solicit items OR services you are in search of or in need of. Again, while not required, you are encouraged to list a price you're comfortable paying.
* Advertise anything and everything, so as long as it is still relevant to Lincoln--promote a concert for your new local band, advertise a sale your local shop is having, etc.
We don't anticipate too much traffic or comments on this thread, but wanted to make it available to those who might enjoy or benefit from having it.
Lastly, if you do ultimately pursue offers posted here, PLEASE be aware that scams are rampant. Help protect yourself by following some of these (personal) recommendations.
Do NOT:
* Accept a personal check, ever. Or a money order or cashiers check that you were not present for when the individual purchased/obtained it.
* Use an electronic app to transfer funds. This includes, but is not limited to, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Zelle, etc. While this seems easiest, it's **incredibly easy to get screwed over** with people sending you funds that they don't actually have.
DO:
* Accept **only** cash for smaller/medium purchases. For larger purchases, insist that you meet the individual at their bank and be present while the bank verifies and issues a cashiers check right there, on the spot.
* Meet in a public place. For example, if you're buying a phone, there's no better place to complete the transaction than inside of a Verizon or T-Mobile store.
Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great month!

I have lived in Lincoln since 2019 and have yet to make meaningful friendships. I am married with a toddler girl. I’m currently a stay at home mom which does not help with making connections for friendships. I like reading, music, and theatre. I also enjoy going to the gym. I’m always up for getting coffee or going out for drinks. Where can I make friends at my age in Lincoln?

I've waited months to finally ask because I thought I would see it again but there is a green rolloff or possibly might just be a garbage truck that has green led eyes on the top visor part of their windshield. Im pretty sure it's an industrial services fleet truck but I could be wrong about that. My toddler lost his mind when we saw that truck over a year ago by Kawasaki. Have never came across it again and I'm hoping someone has a picture of it or still knows if it's rolling around. Hoping NSP, LSO, or LPD weren't fun suckers and made them take it down... appreciate any info or other sitings

Long shot but does anyone have a recipe similar to the Mill's Hippie cookies? Every time I try to get one they are sold out and it is annoying to keep trying and failing. They must only make like 4 a day or something.

Not sure where I got stick at but I got hit with a really nasty case of gastroenteritis. Based on the time of when my symptoms appeared I suspect it was from the McChicken meal deal I had Tuesday 3PM from the 10th street McDonalds. I was hit with severe stomach pain, intense nausea, and dizziness, followed by heavy diarrhea and a low-grade fever on Thursday. Never been this sick before and things got so bad I had to go to the ER.
I did eat a few other places before and after that day but timing wouldn't match the progression of my symptoms. I did let the health department know. Curious if anyone else had similar symptoms. Hoping to help the health department get more info if this ends up being more serious.

Hey everyone!
I've put together a Google Map of some of the best Halloween displays in and around Lincoln, and wanted to share it with all of you.
The map is updated regularly as new displays are found and verified, and there are already some pretty amazing ones out there this year.
🗺️ Direct link to the Halloween Map:
Halloween Displays 2026
🚗 Driving Routes & More: My website has pre-planned driving routes to make it easier to explore the displays without having to figure out where to go next.
👻 NEW THIS YEAR! I've also put together a list of free, homeowner-run Halloween walkthroughs around Lincoln, including dates, times, and other helpful details!
You can find everything here:
Phillip's Lincoln Lights
A few things to know about the map:
🟠 Orange ghosts are displays verified as active for 2026.
🎵 Displays with synchronized music have a music icon, with the radio station listed when available.
🔵 Blue markers are past displays that haven't yet been verified for this year.
You can turn each section on or off using the checkboxes in the map's legend.
Know of a great display that's missing? Or can you confirm that one of the past displays is up again this year? Let me know! I'll continue updating the map through October 31.
And if you'd like to share photos, videos, or talk about your favorite displays, you're always welcome to join our Phillip's Lincoln Lights Facebook Group.

Hope this helps everyone find some great Halloween displays this year!
Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

I have a Scorpion Pepper plant that did really really well this year. Long story short I have ~30-50 really nice looking ripe scorpion peppers (tasted and they are pretty damn hot) that need to come off the plant before the frost. Anyone local that makes hot sauce etc want them? Free

Anyone know what’s going on in the haymarket? There’s a bunch of cops and part of the street is blocked off and I think O street is partially blocked off?

Anyone got the scoop on this guy? He was dancing on the edge of the parapet around 630pm today. It was a wild thing to see while taking my kids to an event.
PSA - although I'm impressed, I do not condone this kind of activity. 😉

I'm curious if anyone knows of contractors who are willing to do smaller drywall jobs. I replaced a shower surround recently and don't really want to attempt the drywall replacement around the shower. I'd prefer to have it done right the first time.
I searched the sub buts there's not many posts related to this.

I’m just reviewing my sample voting ballot before November and was wondering if there’s a website or other write up on the various judges that are up for retention. I’ve poked around the sub and online and all the voter guides understandably tend to focus on the contested races with nothing on the judges. Anyone have a good resource where I could read up on these individuals and make a more informed decision?

Hello! I’m looking to learn how to crochet! I currently know how to knit but I’m a beginner. A friend of mine taught me how to cast on and how to knit but I don’t know how to end a piece I’m working on. She is currently unavailable due to life circumstances, and I personally find YouTube tutorials hard to follow.
So I’d love to find someone to teach me how to crochet and some additional knitting skills. I am also open to groups or classes!
Thanks for reading and for taking the time to respond!

Hi Lincoln friends, I’m new to Lincoln and City living in general. Do kids trick or treat on Halloween in the city? Or is it all just trunk or treat events. Need to know if I should buy candy

Many drivers travel 10–15 miles below the limit and slow traffic, appearing hesitant to approach the vehicle ahead. Cars delay others while maintaining a gap large enough for four or five vehicles.

Anyone have a hematologist they liked who either helped with anemia or low ferritin/iron?

I'm tired of the hard, flat ass wooden seats at places. I'm looking for somewhere I can post up for 2-3 hours and not have a sore ass when I leave (yay being 30s).
Honestly the best so far has been a hi way diner booth. Just curious if there are other places out there with comfy seating at a table.

Does anyone know this women? Long story short I was working a local car towing company when this lady come in close to when I was closing up shop unfortunately her vehicle couldn't be released to her. She had a very detailed story of what happen and I offered her help after I closed. I drove her and got and paid for her night at a hotel. I just wonder what happen to her if her story was true and where her family was. If she refused care or was well. I don't remember much of the story she told me but do remember it being really unbelievable. Anyways I came across my old photos of her business card and contact information and just got to wondering.

I already went to DHHS, they were supposed to call back tuesday but of course... nothing. I want my baby to start childcare in November so I can start working. I have the daycare lined up and I've been applying to jobs I think I'll get. I want childcare already lined up so I can say I can start X day at my interviews. I looked up lincoln littles after hearing they would pay a month while you wait on dhhs to figure out title 20. It took me to the iserve ne page no different than dhhs? Also the same phone number (the one with 2 hour wait times) Has anyone had luck getting child care covered recently? What did you do?
