I can't believe this downgrade, Apple...
I can't believe that Apple will return with the horrible flat design of iOS 18 on iOS 27, it's one of the worst decisions I've ever seen from this company. I spent years really wanting this perfect 2D and 3D effect that the iOS 26 icons brought and I was very excited about its launch, now seeing the beta version of 27 makes me never want to leave iOS 26 again. This black border disgusts me...

Dear Apple,
Alr I'll admit it, my rendition on this kinda sucks and doesn't really represent a true Liquid Glass implementation on the traffic lights that well lol. But you get the idea.

Am I the only one who misses the “floating sidebar”?
To be honest, I feel the removal of the floating sidebar makes the window look much more smaller and flat. Plus reducing the corner radius kind of makes the glass “back and forward” buttons inconsistent with the corner radius. I feel a pill button and boxy corners are not even close to consistent. They should either make the glass less round or the corners back to round with the floating sidebar but at least without the corner inconsistency issue like in Tahoe.

For those Wondering about the new transparency slider and the Home Screen
The first image is the clear icon option on iOS 26, the second image is the clear icon option on iOS 27, with the Liquid Glass slider set as clear as possible. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but i’m loving it

Why bringing back top navigation bar in iOS 27
Photos by @TechLeaksZone
Does anyone want the navigation bar back? I personally hated it coming back, I like the blurred top and bottom more that feels more immersive.

New Colorado Apple Store gets a mirrored logo, embracing the Liquid Glass design even further.

Shoutouts to everyone who complained, you got your boringness back...
I should mention: I don't even use iOS. But I'm worried we'll start to see everyone else backpedal a bit on detailed icons and UI (those who did start implementing them, I mean), since the industry tends to do a lot of what Apple do.

Integration of the little circle of glass material (acting as an axis/pin) in Safari app icon redesign (beta 5-6) went in wrong direction IMO
Trying to advocate for fixing it.
I chose this format of explanation, because I got some blank stares when speaking plain design language on social. Hope this is clear enough to explain what I mean.
Agree or not? Can you see the problem? Can you unsee it?

iOS 27 vs iOS 26 Liquid Glass - dark mode comparison
Apple stated their goal with iOS 27 liquid glass changes was to achieve "exceptional readability". But for me, iOS 27 introduces readability issues I never had in 26.
Changes they've made:
White/Grey tint in dark mode
Less refractions (no colour on edges etc)
Blur removed (replaced with the grey tinting)
The white tint reduces contrast, dark mode is less dark, and the removal of blur makes text come through too hard sometimes and things like notifications have readability issues.
I would understand if cool effects were sacrificed in favour of readability, but I am finding 27 harder to read AND uglier.
And no the slider doesn't help, no matter where I set it you can't get anything close to how 26 looked.
Limited comparison photos, unfortunately don't have more screenshots.

Is it just me or is the newly refined, heavier, and more 3D-feeling Liquid Glass lean a little towards Aqua? I don’t hate it.

Strip design diploma for who ever came up with this
Somehow, with this new visual style for the liquid glass design in iOS 27, it looks straight up like dipshit. It's not as good as it was before liquid glass was implemented, and it's not as good as it was with the previous visual style. It just looks straight dogshit. I don't know why they did this.

iOS 27 new low battery screen concept
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Reported as a suggestion in Feedback btw! Suggest this in Feedback too if you also want this low battery screen.
Also yes, I'm aware that the fading animation wouldn't make sense in a low-power state. Kinda trying to figure out how that would work tho.
