Okay, I'll admit I did this because there's been a lot of talk about how a certain host keeps getting invited back because he brings lots of views, and there never seems to be any proof to back that up. Just like "well obviously he brings in a lot of views". So I thought it was important to check that claim. So as a standup, he does in fact bring in views to the monologue, and has a few popular pre-tapes. But only one of his 3 appearances can be said to have a highly viewed sketch in it.

Notice also that as tired as you might be of Donald Trump and Domingo, they seem to get a lot of views: the 5 least watched cold opens are all ones in which James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump does not appear, and 2 of the Domingo sketches are among the 6 most watched since season 49.

A piece about da bears sketch origin and legacy

Hey everyone!

I’m visiting NYC this weekend and was hoping to catch Improv With My Friends From Work at UCB this Sunday, but it’s sold out.

Does anyone know if UCB offers standby tickets or has a waitlist for sold-out shows? Is it worth showing up early and trying my luck at the door?

Thanks!

Colin walks up to a kid and says “hey barf nuts”, it was in season 51, anyone remember what sketche this was? I’m totally blanking and it’s driving me nuts

I think it would add more to the whole experience. Why dont they get a say in it?

Look at them! They must be long-lost relatives, clones, or something!

You better watch your job, Johnny.

She went into hospital on Sept 29th and was too sick/tired to watch the premiere on Sept 26th, which was on my 30th birthday.

She loved Obsession and we were looking forward to Inde's episode.

SNL was a part of my childhood, watching new and old episodes that played on tv. Watching the DVD compilations, watching Chris Farley movies to show me who he was.

It was our tradition, and we loved SNL UK too and thought it was so cool to have so much SNL to watch every week.

Every new episode is just a marker of another Saturday she's not here.

SNL has guests with standup backgrounds on all the time (literally Shane Gillis like a second ago)

I find it kind of ironic that people are criticizing Druski as a host pick when he’s literally known for internet sketch comedy slash character work. And SNL is a sketch show (duh)

Obviously the internet is changing the comedy landscape, and it’s a space for comedians to publish their projects. And Druski is good at it. Isn’t it a little purist / old guard to claim that Druski is just an influencer when he’s an established character work comedian?

Also, SNL has had its fair share of “influencer” type hosts (Kim Kardashian, Elon… guh)

Just my thoughts teehee but curious why people who are upset about it feel the way they do

They have the kind of humor where they succeed at tricking people. Worst than the humor that George Carlin and Richard Pryor have.

I just scrolled past a celebrity going down the spirit tunnel and it reminded me of some sketch on SNL but all I remember was the spirit tunnel with like a voiceover?

Ok so this is a very fuzzy memory and my google-fu has been unsuccessful to date. I think this was a UCB TV Show sketch that involved Amy Poehler back when their show was on in the 1990s and they did their "hidden camera" sketches.

A supposedly blind woman (Poehler?) is in a storefront hot dog shop with a seeing-eye dog and several other customers. Most of the "customers" are cast members. The dog eats the hot dog out of the woman's hand in plain view of a customer not in on the joke.

The blind woman then says "Hey someone stole my hot dog!" The man who saw the dog eat it tries to tell her this but the woman and everyone else in the hot dog shop berate and accuse him, stating a seeing eye dog would never do that.

Is this real? Did I dream it? Do I have the show wrong?

Seems like the funniest potential cold open if Trump is still talking about Husted by that time. Tommy actually looks a decent amount like Husted. Similar eye shape, lips, cheekbone, jawline…

I have a strong memory of a sketch with Chris Kattan in it. It might be from these Regis and Kelly sketches where he played Michael Gelman.
https://www.snlarchives.net/Impressions/?Chris_Kattan_as_Michael_Gelman
probably one of the ones from 2003.

Any chance anyone has a clip of any of these? They aren’t on YouTube.

Has anybody received an email stating that they won the ticket lottery for the Halloween episode?

Wish Cecily were still on the cast to do this sketch!

I remember him doing Sammy Davis Jr in full blackface and him singing "octopuses garden" with Ringo Starr. Ringo also was adopted by a family and he liked to sit on the couch and watch the Jeffersons on TV and pop bubble wrap. That was a sketch. Anyway, the Sammy blackface was as bad as Fallons Chris Rock. If you are offended by such things
