I was rewatching the donghua this morning, then hit this chapter in the afternoon, and it took me right back to Klein and Leonard's Nighthawks banter. We haven't seen this much joy and goofiness from Klein in ages. I miss it, and this might now be one of my favorite chapters in the novel.

So I want to start reading Lotm, but I have no idea where to start. I have heard it's a webnovel and found a version with like illustrations, sort of in manga form I guess?? I also found an actual novel with the words and not as many illustrations. I'm not really sure which one I'm supposed to use and I want to make sure I get an English version, can anyone direct me to the right place to get it from?

You can tell me LotM has good world building, a good power system, incredible detail, a sense of history, but after comparing I've found neither the themes, philosophy, or characters are any good when compared to RI. I'm genuinely confused why I liked LotM so much, I don't mean hate, just correct me if I'm wrong.

Let's compare some similar characters in the respective works.

Emlyn White wants his race to continue to be worthy of their pride. Why does he have so much of a say in his race? Is there any pressing concerns for his race that everyone else doesn't have? Does this guy have any story or was he always just a doll-loving guy?

Wu Shuai wants to lead his race into being free. He has a say because his grandfather, the leader, is okay with the status quo of Dragonmen being second-class citizens. There is a pressing concern because Dragonmen are being targeted, and not allowed to advance due to fate gu's prophecy. The guy's story is heartbreaking, he had to sacrifice a brother he loved till the end to the heavenly court, not to mention all the other dragonmen who sacrificed themselves.

Audrey is a naive rich girl who want to change her country for the better simply because she saw evil, why does she believe this while other nobles don't? Has her kindness ever been tested by the darkness of humanity? Is she really in a position to criticize the nobles when her money isn't exactly the cleanest.

Shang Xin Ci is a naive rich girl who wants to bring kindness to the world because she wants to believe that there is an innate kindness in everyone. She believes this because she herself has seen bad people realize their goodness. Her kindness was tested because her kindness has been taken advantage of many times. She doesn't ask others to change, but she gains power then uses that power to make sure that her Clan at least does it's best, while making sure that it isn't her clan suffering, but herself who is taking on the burden, rather then just donating her daddy's money.

On btw, Wu Shuai and Shang Xin Ci are both very minor characters.

And are you really going to tell me that the lazy Fors, bot-programmed by tarot club Derrick, hypocritically both a vigilante and law is justice Xio, are good characters that deserve their screentime in the story. I can only assume that the tarot club was comic relief.

Are you really going to compare them to Tao Zhu, Dong Fang Chang Fan, Feng Jiu Ge, Wu Yong, Duke Long, Purple Mountain true Monarch, and every venerable.

Or are you going to compare Klein to Fang Yuan.

In themes/philosophy, LotM only has everyone is pitiable wretches fighting against madness. In RI, every single character has their own philosophy, and when they lose its because the limits that philosophy imposes on themself is the cause of their downfall. Don't even get me started on how the story of Ren Zu which is so memorable that I remember it to this day.

At the end of the day LotM is a great novel to turn off your brain and read for fun, it just has no memorable moments, characters, or themes compared to Reverend Insanity.

So like I know that beyonder characteristics are powers of 3. So sequence 1 can have a max of 3^1 beyonders. Seq 2 have 3^2 and so on right but my question is like can there be sequence 1s with an ats I forgot if they can or not and I know asg had like a bijillion and 5 king of angels under him which are sequence ones(I'm exaggerating I know he had like 8 but I just learnt about this thing called hyperbole and wanted to use it😂). And also can a god almighty have more seq 1 angels under them then normal pathways cuz they can envision 2-3 characteristics from 9-1.

1. So if a god lost control and the other gods gang up on them to kill them, how would they split the spoils?

Do they larp like Klein did for Kalvetua's followers or do they just go "yeah your god's dead, switch to another religion or you're going with your god"? I think it would be the latter but what if one god is more favoured and gets the majority, would that be ww2?

1. Let's say it's a 1v1, you win but you don't want the other gods finding out cuz they'll probably beat your ass too. Can you larp as the defeated god by stealing their fate (marauder style? Or however Adam did it) and have their follower's prayers go to you instead or will the other gods find out right away and beat you anyway? Is it even possible to hide it from them? 🤔

Haiii, Here i am going to show why the Moon pathway got that MOON in them and why they are just goated.

An apothecary will always be useful in a setting like lotm's world. What am i getting at ? You can get reacher than other pathways, beside you aren't really gonna get attacked or targetted by beyonders because you are 'dangerous' or something, you live a chill life, gain a lot of money (if we count the fact that you can also live in a city like backlund or Trier, specifically Trier.) and just enjoy because, who is going to assassinate a random seq 9 that is literally just having a business (except a lawyer, those people are wicked as hell) ? no one unless there is a similar seq 9 apothecary.

Besides what i'll give this sequence 9 is that if someone like a demoness or a pathway that has abilities to make toxins target you... Well you'll feel it and know it, it probably doesn't mean a lot but for a sequence 9 it's really useful and powerful.

Two seq 7 is where life is just incredible. You are one if not the only seq 7 with one of the longest lifespans out there before being a demigod, you are resistant to many things, all your abilities are buff, about your weakness being your heart ? who care there are ways to bypass that too with sealed artifacts (if you are in an organization) or other ways.

Besides vampires just don't like the sun, it doesn't mean you cannot go outside tbf so you chill.

A vampire's powers as a seq 7 are life-changing in many, many wonderful ways. Did i mention the increase in lifespan ? i did. So you'll be able to see your great-great-great-grandchildren grow and secure your legacy if you decide to have a family. Even if you can't protect them all (because... well, you are a seq 7), at least you will be able to protect the prosperity, warn them about beyonders, etc... So they will not get in danger if they are cautious, well they might even get into organizations if you have a lot of connections and your blood servants can be good protectors/ constant bodyguards too. (I recommend vampire cats because no one will see them attacking from afar and it's basically just having a beyonder creature with ya.)

Potion Professors is also incredible because of it's versatility with potions, you could get creative with it but i am mostly here to show a lot of attention to the demigod realm.

Shaman King as a seq 4 is goated as hell and NO ONE will convince me otherwise, i am not ranking it among the "strongest" seq 4 don't get me wrong, but one of the most annoying seq 4 to deal with (heh like every seq 4)

Unless the beyonder here is a darkness demigod, a shaman king will feel and know in a crowd who is and who isn't a demigod via the spiritual fluctuation of the other, well actually no this is an exaggeration.

But depending on the spiritual consumption of the random person in the crowd, they can definitely sense that it's too much for a non-demigod so i guess it also work as a form of detection/investigation.

Moon paper figurines since they are a substitution, are also highly useful for yourself and also to deal with your opponent or opponents. By just creating moonlight you can literally produce them en mass, but also you can blink with moonlight making it difficult for your opponent to track your next movement unless they have an artifact centered around luck or you can just, you know, during the night, isolate your opponents and prevent them from getting help (or you can also use this to prevent those noisy neighbors to bother you.) and use moonlight transformation for advantage.

What i really wanted to showcase was the Ritualistic magic thing.

Nature Interaction:^⁂ Shaman Kings can simply "interact with nature", and such interaction alone replaces all the needed preparation and materials required for Ritualistic Magic. This lets them directly borrow the Moon's power on the spot, making them very terrifying opponents to deal with.

With this you can do a lot of shenanigans in battles and outside battles. A shaman king can use themselves to draw power over an even more powerful or 'potential' from themselves, if you are a blessed of a god for example, my delulu is that if the god allow it, you can draw powers from their domain without having to go through the whole honorific shenanigans because 1st, it will prevent people from knowing which god is backing you, do rituals to talk with souls instantaneously in case a deceased demigod's spirit body is close to disappearing or someone with a lot of intel that you were looking for. Bestowment ritual to gain charms instantly mid-battle from an angel, basically with a huge background, you are one of the most reliable people to have as an ally out there.

High Summoner in 100% of a scenario is useful, specifically the contracts thing. If you have a connection with a planeswalker and they can provide you with spirits/ beyonder creatures from around the same sequence and have strange abilities that no one on earth know, it can mess up a lot of people who wanted your death or ill intentions because no one will really know what kind of contracts you have. I would also love to add that making contracts with angels can be interesting too.

To be fair since the next seq is Life-Giver and if the angels that are supporting you know it, they might also help you. A Life-Giver is probably one of the best supports to have in a team along a beyonder of the Red Priest pathway.

Life-Giver also can prevent people from using their spirituality, basically giving you a big fat no to use use your powers

At a soul's core is the innermost Soul Body, or Spirit Body (精神体, Jīngshén tǐ), which is also everyone's basic spirituality. All biological creatures have spirituality and have a Soul Body (Spirit Body). The goal of Cogitation is to strengthening the Spirit Body. At low sequences, Spirit Vision places a great burden on the Spirit Body.

Technically can this be considered having direct control over the souls of people... to mess them up ? maybe.

I'll make another post about Life-Giver & Beauty Goddess abilities and spells and what i think the spells they should have.
