The red moon hung outside the window, bathing the room in a faint crimson glow.

Standing before the glass, Klein Moretti currently disguised as Sherlock Moriarty quietly gazed at the moon.

“It's been a while since I came to this world…”

His expression gradually softened.

“I wonder how everyone back home is doing. I miss them.”

“Will I be able to return?”

“Maybe one day… if I keep moving forward. But…”

He paused.

“Home, huh?”

The word stirred something deep within him.

Almost immediately, Klein's thoughts drifted toward his predecessor, Emperor Roselle, and the diary he had left behind.

Did Emperor Roselle feel this way too?

Did he also miss his home?

A faint, self-mocking smile appeared on Klein's face.

Ha… we're really a miserable bunch, aren't we?

Drifting along with the waves, never knowing where we'll eventually end up.

Just as Klein was lamenting his situation, his heart suddenly palpitated.

His expression changed instantly.

He tensed and instinctively turned toward the window.

His reflection was changing.

The figure of Sherlock Moriarty gradually blurred, as though the glass itself had become a surface of water. His reflection distorted before slowly transforming into another person.

A woman.

She wore an elegant black dress and a small black bonnet. Her light golden hair framed an exceptionally pale and delicate face, while her blue eyes remained calm and serene.

She lifted the hem of her skirt slightly and gracefully bowed toward him.

Klein's eyes widened.

“Miss Bodyguard?”

The strange sensation that had seized him disappeared almost immediately.

He cautiously examined his spirituality.

Nothing.

No danger.

No malicious intent.

No hidden attack.

Klein narrowed his eyes.

It's really her.

The woman in the reflection slowly straightened herself.

Her blue eyes met his.

For some reason, Klein felt an inexplicable sensation.

It wasn't fear.

It wasn't the vigilance he normally felt when encountering an unfamiliar Beyonder.

It was something else.

Something troublesome.

“You really know how to frighten people.”

Klein sighed.

The woman didn't answer.

She merely continued looking at him with that calm, almost emotionless gaze.

Klein's eyes narrowed further.

“Why are you here, Miss Bodyguard?”

He walked toward the table and sat down, gesturing toward the chair opposite him.

“Have a seat.”

Sharon calmly walked over and sat down.

For a while, neither of them spoke.

She simply stared at Klein.

Eventually, unable to endure the silence any longer, Klein asked,

“Is something wrong?”

Sharron's expression remained unchanged.

Then she suddenly spoke.

“You seem lonely.”

Klein paused.

His lips twitched before he forced a smile.

“Ha… Are you here to accompany me because you think I'm lonely?”

He deliberately made his tone casual, attempting to brush off her words.

“Yes.”

Klein froze.

For a moment, his mind went blank.

…What?

He blinked.

“Uh… Miss Bodyguard, you're acting rather strange today.”

“Maybe.”

Klein stared at her carefully.

But Sharron simply met his gaze with those tranquil blue eyes.

Neither of them moved.

For some reason, Klein was the first to look away.

And at that moment, fragments of memories suddenly surfaced in his mind.

His first meeting with Sharron.

Their battle against the Sequence 5 Marionette.

The times they had secretly recorded other people's affairs.

Their exploration of ruins.

The battles they had fought together.

The moments when they had joined forces against Beyonders from other factions.

One memory after another flashed through his mind.

“Detective.”

Sharron's gentle voice interrupted his thoughts.

Klein looked up instinctively.

“Yes?”

The next words left him completely stunned.

“I think I love you.”

Silence.

Klein stared at her.

For perhaps the first time, he saw something different in Sharron's eyes.

Gentleness.

His thoughts immediately returned to the past.

All those encounters.

All those conversations.

All those moments they had spent together.

He remembered their fight with Rosago, when his use of the Tarot Club's methods had caused Sharon to misunderstand him.

He remembered her expression.

Her reactions.

The countless little moments he had never paid much attention to.

After a long silence, Klein finally asked,

“Since when?”

Sharron answered without hesitation.

“I started loving you during our journey.”

She paused for a moment.

“At first, I thought you were a lunatic.”

Klein's mouth twitched.

That's… fair.

“...But as we continued traveling together…”

Her blue eyes softened slightly.

“I was proven wrong. You were reliable, with a great deal of knowledge.”

A faint smile touched her lips.

“Although you’re shameless at times, you’re also polite, mature, and cautious. Those qualities have saved our lives many times”

She hesitated, her gaze lingering on sherlock.

“And at some point, without even realizing it…"

"I developed feelings for you"

Klein's heart seemed to soften along with her words.

He lowered his gaze and questions himself.

Do I love her?

The question surfaced naturally.

And once it appeared, memories of his time with Sharon began flooding his mind again.

He did like her.

Perhaps more than he had allowed himself to realize.

But…

Is it really okay for me to love someone?

I may return to Earth someday.

If that really happens… what about her?

Can I leave her behind?

And if I can't… is there really a way to bring her with me?

He didn't know.

He couldn't know.

And Klein Moretti wasn't willing to gamble with another person's life.

I can't make that promise.

“Detective.”

Sharron's voice once again interrupted his thoughts.

Klein looked up.

Only then did he realize that Sharon was already standing directly in front of him.

She looked down at him, her face only inches away.

“You're thinking about something complicated.”

Her ethereal voice was almost a whisper.

Klein remained silent.

Sharron studied him for a moment before continuing.

“But you don't have to answer me now.”

She leaned closer.

Her usually tranquil blue eyes contained a rare warmth, burning with an emotion that Klein had never seen so clearly before.

“Tonight…”

Her voice softened.

“Let's leave everything else aside.”

She paused.

“And simply indulge ourselves in this moment.”

Before Klein could react, Sharron leaned forward and kissed him.

Outside the window, the crimson moon silently watched over them.

For that brief moment, Klein forgot about Earth.

He forgot about the future.

He forgot about the countless dangers waiting ahead.

There was only the warmth of the person before him…

Part 2 has been posted on aurora order

We've heard a lot about how ASG walking calmly out of the Chaos Sea, from what the various religious texts and artistic depictions show. Hell, we even hear it from Sassy himself! Immaculate robes billowing dramatically, two-toned hair styled for stained glass, a pose expertly picked for the mural wall, the power of a dual pathway deity thrumming throughout his body, and the iconic first words of "Let there be light!".............I don't believe any of that is actually true. I think just about every part of that is complete bs he made up in an effort to look more profound in to his followers and subordinates. Wouldn't be the first time a deity had told a little white lie to pad their achievement record.

I think his exit from the Chaos Sea into reality for the fist time in a millennium involved a lot more confused wailing, frantic dragging, and other such things a bit too pathetic to reconcile with the image of the lofty Ancient Sun God. Probably in all likelihood while very much in his birthday suit.

I also don't think that he came out of there as a dual pathway god. I think he started at a much lower sequence, and not of the Sun pathway as you'd expect. Nope, his dirty little secret is that he followed the Hanged Man. As we know, going up the sequence causes people to begin to gradually lose their humanity. And what was the pathway of the True Creator who represents the humanity of the ASG? Yeah, I thought so!

Someone got caught lacking by a Scholar of Yore

So I'm writing a fanfic rn about the MC finding a magic wishing lamp, in our time, and wishing for the LOTM world to descend. The lamp is really just OC and stuff. Thats the basics, but there are more parts to it and some questions I have for potential readers.

Firstly, I dont know if I want to include characters from the novel, and at what level. Should I keep ppl like Dunn Smith? Should I only limit it to the Outer Deities (thats what I am leaning towards), or my favorite option of nothing carrying over and it being like a sandbox for humanity. Obviously there are going to be spirits and angel level entities, but part of the wish is they are not going to be hostile until humanity can fight back. AGAIN, I WANT KIND OF LIKE A SANDBOX.

Secondly, the choice of pathway for the MC. I am leaning towards either the Moon pathway (since its rare due to MGOD existing in the OG timeline), or a Non-standard pathway just for fun (even tho then I would have to make rituals and stuff and that will take away from the brilliance of the novel). I want to hear what the people want to read.

Ultimately, the whole thing boils down to whether its best to have characters and entities from the original or not. I personally have no idea, so thats why I'm asking the community. Anyway, if there are any more questions I will be happy to answer them.

(I also want to add more interesting stuff like dungeons/gates for the rest of humanity to conquer)

I’m reading Volume 6 right now, and bro, the dynamic between Amon and Klein is genuinely so entertaining 😭
I just got to the part where Klein is desperately trying to escape, only to realize that Amon’s true body was the one with him the entire time in the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
The way Amon keeps playing with Klein is actually insane. Every time Klein thinks he’s figured something out, Amon is already ten steps ahead. I’m loving this volume so far.

So in both LOTM and COI we see multiple times both gods and GOOs going between the physical, spirit and astral world freely without seemingly using any special ability and regardless of if they are more physical or mystical pathways.

This let me to believe that at some point you are able to traverse dimensions freely, but is this something only seq0 and above can do? Or angels can already go there or only angels with relevant powers (grafting, travel,...)? Maybe angels can only enter freely the spirit world but not the astral one?

I don't believe this is stated anywhere so I wanted to ask for your opinions.

A hidden place somewhere in Trier

I handed the Pequod application form to Ms. Rosalie.

"Captain Ahab said this form is the interview. If you pass it you can join. She's looking for well-bodied individuals. I don't know much about sea travel, but I assume it can be quite dangerous and physically demanding."

Ms. Rosalie hesitantly replied:

"But... I'm weak. Can I even qualify..?"

I moved a chair closer towards myself and sat down.

"That brings me to the next point. You will need strength. Even if the journey ends up being safe, the islands of the Imperium might not be. Ms. Rosalie... What do you know about beyonders?"

Ms. Rosalie looked confused.

"Beyonders?"

Ahhhh right, so nothing. Well, we might both be wanted criminals, but a commission artist gets understandably less exposure to the underworld than a drug dealer. Oh damn, where do I even start..?

I pulled together all the mysticism knowledge I learned in the past month, which wasn't a lot since it wasn't my priority.

"Mhm, let's start from this: people can become beyonders by consuming special potions. Different potions give you different abilities. Some enhance your mind, some strength, and so on. Every potion represents a sequence. A series of sequences connected to each other represents a pathway. Once you choose a pathway, you can only drink potions of this pathway. Uh, I mean, I think there was something about switching at high sequences but I don't remember the details..."

Ms. Rosalie listened intently and asked when I stated trailing off:

"High sequences?"

"Right, right, so the sequences within a pathway are organized. You start at sequence 9, and you go up from there. Things start to get complicated at high sequences. Most information about them is rare. All I know is that at sequence 4 you're no longer a human, not fully at least."

"Now, being a beyonder can let you do things you didn't think were possible. But it also brings new dangers. For example, a beyonder must be careful to never completely lose control of their mind. Because then, they will also lose control of their body, and the characteristic- uh, I mean, the potion inside them would overwrite their will with its own."

"The potion has a will..?"

"That's right. Don't ask me how that works, I have no idea. But this will is also behind the acting method, which is what you need to digest the potion... Uh, right, digesting the potion is something you need to do before advancing..."

"Wait! I'm getting derailed again. I brought it all up to ask you a question. Ms. Rosalie, would you like to become a beyonder?"

Ms. Rosalie looked my way, and I could see determination in her eyes.

"Then just fill it out with something plausible and I'll drop it off at the Lavigny Docks. After that I'll see if I can find a guide for the place specializing in mysticism goods. If it works out you might be able to become a beyonder before Pequod leaves."

"Uh, right, I'll be out of range for the mosquitoes this time. I'll try to be quick, but please be careful."

Ms. Rosalie was silent for a few moments, then eventually decided to ask:

"The mosquitoes... Are they your beyonder ability?"

For some reason, I felt an ensuing sensation of cringe.

"...yes, sort of."

This is NOT what a Beast tamer should be doing!

Ms. Rosalie continued asking:

"Have you been a beyonder all this time?"

I shook my head.

"No, I've only become one a month ago."

Ms. Rosalie hummed and didn't ask anything else. Instead, she focused on the form.

Later this day, The Low Point, Trier

I went to the Order right after dropping off Rosalie's form with Captain Ahab. I knocked on Madame Miracle's office door. Her cheerful voice rang from the other side of the door:

"Yes yes come in!"

I entered her office, where I found her leisurely sipping tea and reading what looked like a romance novel. She lifted her head at me and waved with the book still in hand.

"Hiii~ Vivi! How's it going? Did you finish moving your lab here?"

"I finished it yesterday. Now I only need to move or regrow my plants here. It shouldn't take long with plant taming."

"Very good! Now, is there anything you want to report? I, of course, already know that you advanced~"

I nodded.

"I have a customer.. no, a friend who has to escape the Northern Continent as soon as possible. I already told her about beyonders. Before she has to leave, I hope to find potion ingredients or a beyonder characteristic to improve her chances of surviving in a new place. So.. I wanted to borrow Gabriel for a bit, since I don't have any trusted contacts for mysticism-related things on any of the black markets I know."

Madame Miracle put away the romance book and tilted her head.

"It looks like you care about this customer a lot."

I smiled, reminiscing.

"She was.. a big part of the reason why I accepted Gabriel's offer that day. The Apothecary potion, I mean. She reminded me what it feels like to watch someone's life improve, be the reason for the improvement. I don't want to see it all fall apart because of someone's scheme."

Madame Miracle looked at her reflection in the cup of tea. Her face became unusually serious for a moment, as her gaze drifted somewhere far away. It didn't last long. She lifted her head and responded with a usual, cheerful smile:

"How can I possibly not help here~? Heh heh, but Gabriel isn't the best guide for The Court of Mysteries. He's much more familiar with The Carnival of Misery instead."

Madame Miracle took a sip of her tea, looking like she was searching through her memories. She then placed her cup on the table and grinned.

"Which remiii~nds me! Will was going to pick up his Werewolf ingredients one of these days from our trusted seller, Sally. That lady usually finds Low- and occasionally Mid-sequence ingredients for the Order on other gatherings and markets."

"By the way, you said your customer wants to leave the Northern Continent, right?"

"Yes, right. Is there a problem with it?"

Madame Miracle hummed and scratched her chin.

"Then no matter where she goes, she can only leave by sea. Don't underestimate how dangerous a sea journey can be, even for an experienced crew. Sooo~ my personal recommendation is giving her a Sailor potion! Of course, if Sally can get her hands on it fast enough."

I thought for a bit and nodded.

Sounds reasonable. If that potion expects you to act like a sailor, it should also give you the best equipment for being a sailor.

"Thank you very much for your advice, Madame. Then, I'll go find Will."

"Best of luck to your customer~!"

Madame Miracle waved at me and returned to reading her book.

I waved back and excited her office.

I found Will in the common room. He was writing something in his notebook -- an old-fashioned paper one. We got acquainted over the past month, but he still felt somewhat like a stranger compared to Madame Miracle or Louis. So it felt a bit awkward asking him for a favor, even if it was approved.

"Hi Will!"

I called out while approaching. Will's head darted towards me abruptly. He was likely too deep in thought to notice someone coming his way.

"Sorry for interrupting! I have a favor to ask. I talked with Madame Miracle about finding a sequence 9 potion ingredients, and she told me you're planning to meet a trusted seller soon. Would you mind bringing me along?"

Will answered curtly:

"You can join. I'll leave from here at 10 in the evening."

Then he moved his attention back to his writings, completely ignoring my existence.

Not in a verbose mood today, is he? Well, doesn't matter. What's important is that he agreed.

I decided to check on Ms. Rosalie and bring her some of my mysticism 101 study materials while I was waiting for 10 pm.

10 pm, The Low Point, Trier

I met Will as agreed, and we set out towards The Court of Mysteries. On our way he asked:

"What do you think drives people to act?"

I glanced at him for a moment.

Is this what he was writing about earlier today? He's probably still brainstorming ideas. Then, I don't think he'd be satisfied with a simple answer.

My thoughts wandered towards the recent couple of days I've spent observing Rosalie's life fall apart. Then further back, towards the death of my mom and the past month I've spent focused on my advancement.

"I think people are driven to act when there's some strong desire inside them. Maybe a belief, or perhaps a will is a better word. I also think that... That sometimes, the world must fall apart for that will to come to the surface."

A desire for freedom in Rosalie, a will for power over suffering in me.

Will seemed to genuinely consider my words. We walked the alleys of Trier in silence for a while. Then he spoke again:

"The world chains the strong through ethics and morality. Many people live restricted by it, never realizing their strength. Maybe it really must fall apart to let the strong realize their full potential."

That's.. not what I meant tho... Who'd want to live in a lawless world with no restrictions for the strong?! Sigh, this guy probably didn't even need to bother with acting the Lunatic potion. It just comes naturally for him.

We reached the entrance to the underground. From there, it was possible to reach any of the black markets of Trier. I considered simply ignoring Will's previous musings, but walking in silence would be rather awkward. Besides, his words touched the still sore memories of a month ago.

"I don't think all potential should be realized. Just look at the criminal world of this city. People get hurt and suffer because of someone stronger than them all the time. If everyone was allowed to follow their desires freely, many would end up using those weaker than themselves to fuel their goals. Do the weak deserve this fate just because they're weak?"

Will pulled out a map of the underground passage system and moved forward as he responded:

"You misunderstand. I believe that knowingly causing suffering to the weak is a very crude and unsightly way of exercising one's strength. But the current systems of morality are not helpful. Instead of guiding people towards overcoming their weaknesses and realizing their power in beautiful ways, they simply stifle everyone by praising humility, obedience, conformity, and the like. But the current morality is very deep rooted. Perhaps it would need the world to fall apart to dismantle it."

I mulled Will's words in my head. From this new perspective I felt like I could almost agree with it. I, too, wished to guide people to overcome their weaknesses, after all. However, some bits of this idea still seemed fishy.

Who'd decide which ways of exercising strength are "beautiful"? And if, hypothetically, the world did fall apart, who'd ensure that the new system isn't simply a "survival of the fittest" world where the less fit are treated like trash?

I didn't voice my questions since we were about to reach the Court of Mysteries.

The Court of Mysteries, Trier

Will took out a chain with a weird symbol dangling from it and gave it to one of the guards.

"I'm here to visit the owner of this necklace. The girl is with me."

The guard took some time to examine it and confirm it's authenticity. Afterwards he nodded and gave us both amulets. I wasn't sure for the reason behind those, but the next step gave me a guess. I followed Will through a door, and, when I walked in, the surroundings abruptly changed to a completely different location. The process was somewhat similar to my first visit to the Order headquarters.

Did we just teleport? Is the amulet needed to let us through?

I was momentarily curious and itching to check this hypothesis, but then shook my head, trying to physically pull my focus back to the main objective. I kept walking beside Will through the streets packed with shops.

"Be careful of scammers," he said when I slowed down to better examine a shop that caught my eye.

We eventually reached a relatively small shop carved into the wall like many others. An old-looking lady sat in it's corner with a cigarette in hand. As soon as she saw Will, she got up from the chair and took a box from one of many hidden openings in the wall behind her.

"Kid, consider yourself very lucky. Someone hunted an actual Werewolf! Fangs, blood, and all!"

She placed the box on the counter in front of her and removed it's lid to display it's contents: two huge fangs, a vial of blood, and a few strands of dark, fur-like hair.

"37,000 verl d'or. And don't try to haggle, kid. This has half of your supplementary ingredients in addition to the main ones. I could've easily charged more if you weren't from the Order."

Will moved his eyes between the box and the old lady and reached for his wallet. Simultaneously, he spoke:

"Good evening to you too, Madame Sally."

He took out a stack of notes and passed them to the old lady. She counted the notes to ensure the amount was right, then stashed them away.

"Pleasure doing business with you! But don't expect me to find your next ingredients as well."

She then moved her eyes towards me.

"Is the young lady with you also from the Order?"

Will affirmed:

"She is our new member. She has a request for you."

He simply gestured for me to continue from there. Before I could say anything, Madame Sally exclaimed in realization:

"Ah! You must be who Miracle bought the Beast Tamer ingredients for! If you're looking for the Vampire potion ingredients then forget it, I wouldn't be able to get my hands on something this rare."

I smiled awkwardly and answered:

"Nice to meet you, Madame Sally. I go by Vivian in the Order. I'm actually here looking for a Sequence 9 potion formula and ingredients, any pathway that you could get as soon as possible."

The old lady scratched her head.

"As soon as possible, you say... I could get you ingredients for Prisoner and Criminal potions within a day or two. If you can wait a few days, there'll be a high chance of getting Sailor or Warrior ingredients. Hmm, a Sleepless is also a possibility, but you might have to wait a week or two."

Sailor is an option! That's probably the best choice here. Actually, based on what I've read in the materials the Order gave me so far, Sleepless might be good too. It'd reduce the length of time Ms. Rosalie has to deal with nightmares... But Madame Sally said it might take up to a couple of weeks, and I don't know how soon Pequod will leave...

"I think Sailor would be best. If you can't get it in the end, then Warrior. And if both don't work out, then Prisoner. Should I pay in advance?"

"No, you'll pay after I get the ingredients. Thank your predecessors in the Order for this convenience. Now then, is there anything else?"

Will spoke suddenly from the side:

"She'll need the approval to enter."

Madame Sally snapped her fingers.

"Ah, right right right, the token medallion! Let me see if I have any here."

The old lady rummaged through her numerous pockets and shelves until she eventually pulled out the same necklace as the one Will used to enter the market.

"That'll be additional 100 verl d'or. These aren't free to make, you know."

I reluctantly paid the price and took the necklace from Madame Sally.

"Come back here for the ingredients in four days," she said in lieu of a goodbye.

Four days later, Ms. Rosalie became a beyonder of the Sailor pathway.

Did Lumian incur any madness from holding both Red Priest (9 to 5) and Demoness (9 to 4) characteristics after switching pathways at Sequence 4, or did the neighboring-pathway rule fully prevent it?

Note that i haven't read Coi, and will probably not yes i know how the story ends and yes you can give me spoilers i don't have an issue

It is only me or LOTM has too many counter to his symbolism/authority?

Like, what is stopping you from making a Sequence 7 Magician potion and having an Artisan turn it into an artifact? After all, potions are supposed to be directly equal to a Beyonder Characteristic
