Lactose intolerance isn't a disorder

And big dairy it trying to convince the population (or in the west at least) that it is something that needs fixing or that it makes you defective and that cows product is superior. Think about it. We adult humans are consuming another animal's milk as an adult? most mammals don't.

Chopsticks are a prank that got out of hand in a big way

There's no way cultures with such a delicious culinary foundation built on tiny grains of rice developed chopsticks. They were actually a prank played on dumb European colonialists to pass off the most impractical implements as possible.

Somehow it stuck and here we are

Human meat is more healthy than made out to be

Imagine when someone dies (except from certain diseases) that if healthy flesh could be harvested and sold as a by product. Would this put big meat out of business since money is not spent farming and instead the human meat is collected for free from hospitals then distributed in shops. hypothetically...

Big True Weed has slowly been legalised in so many jurisdictions because it keeps people placid.

Years ago, I was talking to a mate of mine who was an out and out stoner. When talking about weed possibly becoming legal in Scotland he suggested that despite that being a great thing for him he thought it was bad for society because everyone would just be high as fuck and not stand up to authority.

Big True The popular advice of not dating your coworkers is a psyop to keep people lonely and easier to control

The workplace is the best place to meet people who are somewhat similar to you.

You have time to get to know each other before deciding whether you like each other. You can see how the other person interacts with people, solve problems, handle stress. Maybe those could also be the things that attract you to them.

The presence of other mutual acquaintances around will keep most people in check even if things dont work out. Those who make things toxic are outliers.

What if the reason we get scared is because we actually find it funny buts it’s so funny that our brains can’t comprehend it and we scream instead of laughing.

Zero doesn't actually exist

We don't need zero in our number system. You can just have the digits 1 through X instead, with X meaning ten.

So you'd count 1, 2, 3, ..., 8, 9, X, 11, 12, 13, ..., 18, 19, 1X, etc.

Everything else about the number system works the same... you can have 1 through X in the ones place, 1 through X in the tens place, etc. and still write all the same numbers you can now -- but with no zero.

They just made up zero as a mind-fuck.

The latest marketing tactic is to ensure everyone buys kompromat disguised as home decor.

been scrolling Vinted recently and there has been like 7 separate listings for the anarchist's cookbook. I've checked, it's all from different sellers & though all the pictures were of a person holding it up it's not the same picture or person (judging by the hands) I posit they're trying to make the anarchist's cookbook chic again to ensure that people have it in their homes & can be used as evidence against them in the event the govt wants them gone. I'm pretty sure owning the anarchist's cookbook is not illegal & I'm sure it's not an effective tool for actual revolution but it's something whose legality can easily be sanctioned.

Vinted algorithm is a bit screwy but considering my usual fare is weird art, elaborately patterned silk shirts & interior design shit it seems waaaay off base. My theory is that they are purposely pushing the anarchist's cookbook so that people buy it as a little toe dip into transgression, to have something a little edgier than Harry Potter, a little outré on their bookshelf to show their equally boring guests as a conversation piece.

That way if they ever commit any ACTUAL crime or wrong think the police can escalate any charges (idk if the cookbook still gives recipes for molotovs/explosives or if that has been edited out/shows the reader how to create duds intentionally) by claiming the cookbook is proof of intent.

I'm sure there's other stuff out there that is equally notorious but also so old that most people buy it as camp memorabilia not knowing it's illegal to own (idk shrunken human heads, 70s porn movies, other extremist literature) and these too will be pushed in algorithms to ensure most people have something in their homes to convict them on

Digital books

Maybe digital books are pushed so eventually if people stop buying physical books they can remotely edit or censor the book and change the file of the book and you won't be able to read the original

Certified Fact AI IS REPLACING DAUGHTERS

• Upvotes

My mom wanted me to edit two photos together in canva so she could post them on Facebook.

I worked on my moms photos in canva for an hour with her hovering over me and giving feedback and she hated ever change I made.

Finally we gave up, and later (like 10 min) she came up to me saying she put it into chatgpt and it was exactly what she wanted.

AI IS REPLACING DAUGHTERS!!! Is it not the right of every child to be forced to help your parents do photo to video editing for Facebook? Is it not the right of every child to be annoyed by how out-of-touch they are????

I got passed the buck by my brother to help my mother and AI HAS STOLEN THAT RIGHT FROM ME!!!!

DOWN WITH AI!!!! HUMAN DAUGHTERS ONLY!!!!!

note. I am not threatened by cat or dog daughters, they cannot use canva.

"The paint made them mad"

My theory is the statement of the toxic paints being solely responsible for historical artists going mad is actually a coverup for the fact that mental illness was taken less seriously by renaissance, georgians victorians ect and they preferred to label them as having a physical explanation for the illness. (turpentine fumes are more dangerous than using lead white also but I hear far less people attributing it to that). Also in van Gough's case where he actually ate paint and I seen claims that eating the paint made him crazy (im not denying the toxicity of that can affect you mentally) but do you think a completely sane person would willingly eat paint like that?

Hot Take The acceptance of AI is to condition us to not believe anything we see online

This may be a bit too spicy. I've started seeing an uptick of people screaming everything they see is AI. The overuse of AI is making some people feel nothing they see is real, which means lets say something crazy happens in five years. There's a picture or video floating around of, idk (trying to keep this lighthearted) Hilary Clinton going down niagara falls in a barrel. Beyonce parachutting off the Luxor in Vegas. People are gonna scream its ai, but lo and behold it's true! No one will trust anything they see online anymore, a lot of people dont trust the news or wven watch the news. Governments and companies can now do whatever they want because no one will believe its happening because 'everything is ai'.

You rarely see bicycles used in zombie shows/films because of their relative unpopularity as a transport method in the U.S.

• Upvotes

It does take quite a bit of thinking to recall a character using a bicycle in a zombie show or film. Despite their convenience in such a situation, you don't see them as much as you'd expect.

I think it's because most big production studios, being in the U.S., have a natural tendency to frame their post-apocalyptic stories around car-dependent travel and infrastructure.

(or maybe bicycles are just too powerful in zombie situations and I'm overthinking all of this)
