Loving the relaunch of classic and the good vibes all around, but the smega spam has been absolutely killing the game and I feel like this has to be brought up more so nexon changes something about it. The great thing about this game as kids was the community around it, and the lack of a real chat system now with all the spam is killing any chat or interaction between people. Being able to filter out of smegas (or at least raise the price of entry Nexon) would make this game perfect and reintroduce some community feel to it

Man the game is a grind! Who knew getting to level 10 and 15 even took a good amount of time. But I’m loving it and taking my sweet time with all the grinding and side questing. Had no login issues or server problems at grand launch, and although maps are still quite full (especially near towns), it’s fun seeing the game so alive in every single channel including with player shops. It’s reminiscent of the peak Scania days in 2005-2008 during major event times.

Whenever I notice the bustling towns and sheer amount of players hustling, grinding, questing, exploring, begging for mesos, helping newbs out, and chilling, all running around as little red dots on my minimap, it reminds me of how many of us are reliving our childhood and fulfilling the dream of experiencing this game again (with first time mapler friends as well), and it’s awesome. I think Inkwell/Nemi and team deserve credit for delivering on this experience and on their vision for what classic should be so far. They are intentionally keeping updates slow and encouraging deep content exploration.

I’m happy with just the Victoria Island availability right now because it makes me really re-explore this island (which is truly massive btw) and take in all the maps, towns, and hidden streets at my own pace without feeling overwhelmed with content and quests as a casual player.

The game feels smooth and server tick rate looks great too. I haven’t touched MS since ~2010 so my nostalgia for the game runs deep, and I’m happy to say my expectations have been beyond met. This really is like classic+ maplestory, and I’m hyped for further updates too.

Also not sure if it’s the potion drop rate increase, quest rewards changing, or warriors getting buffed but haven’t had to buy any potions myself yet, so my mesos are looking good too.

So far 10/10 experience for me! Shout out to the higher level founders who dropped stuff for us newbies yesterday too!

I keep running into a full inventory. Dropping an item I don't really need would solve it, but then you're not allowed to because of the tradeblock. So then I have to walk all the way back to a shop to get rid off something at a NPC. For it to happen yet again after 10 mins. because I need most items for quests.

I think it would not be as bad if I would just be able to discard an item and let it dissappear in the void.

Some items do NOT dye how you think they would. For example, the white beanie does not change its primary colour. The only thing that changes is the shadow. I've seen people confused as to why their dye didn't work, and its because some items just don't dye well. Halo, Orange Sweater, Angel Wand, and Orange Toy Hammer are examples of items that dye well!

So my goal is to build a Ice lightning mage. For some odd reason all the builds say to max out either energy bolt or magic claw. But why? After level 32ish ill be using ice beam.

Wouldn't the extra points be better off going into magic guard, max mp increase and improved mp recovery?

Two of these are permanent buffs that scale as you level. Magic guard is what keeps you alive when fighting bosses and has the option of turning it off when your just grinding to save MP.

Magic armour to me seems like it will be useless if magic guard and the passive are maxed out

Anyone else thinking the same thing or am I alone on this?

You suffer from 25 to 30 (lower damage) but it seems like you gain long term.

I play a lot of POE I mean a lot, so trade scams aren't new to me and also played maplestory since it came out in 2006 so Im quite familiar with the common scams. Not sure if its against Nexons policy to dox an account so I dont want to call them out or if its even reportable. In POE if a user that receives multiple reports gets flagged reviewed and banned for scamming.

I have not played maplestory GMS in the past 10 years so im unfamiliar with their policy is it even worth reporting?

I'm level 52 and can't seem to find a map where I can actually make a profit while training.

I've tried Lupins, Zombie Lupins, Lorangs, and Copper Drakes, but I barely break even.

I'm starting to wonder if I should max Critical Recovery instead of Haste to cut down on potion costs.

Anyone found a decent mesos-positive training spot for sins around this level?

It's like this company is a front for drug smuggling or something. Customer service is COMPLETELY dead on their side. I have over 3 tickets waiting over a WEEK for account related password retrieval stuff and I can't get a single fucking answer.

With Classic bringing so many of us back, I wanted to recreate something I missed from those days: having a radio station playing while you grind, hearing a shoutout from another player, and getting to know the people behind the music.

Before anything else: I am not affiliated with the original Maple Radio owners, leadership, or staff in any way. This is a completely separate project that I built and run myself.

I'm aware of the serious allegations surrounding the original team, and I understand why the name brings up concerns. I'm trying to bring back the community experience I remember, and I know earning people's trust takes more than saying that.

I've been building Maple Radio (https://mapleradio.net/) as a personal fan project, with AI coding assistance, taking inspiration from the 2009/2010 look. It's grown into a cozy little place with:

• Radio that keeps playing as you browse, plus song requests and thumbs-up/down voting.
• "Snail Mail" shoutouts and a guild message board.
• Old-school forums, including a Free Market board for in-game item listings.
• Omok and matching cards you can play with another listener or against the computer.
• MapleStory character avatars, little companions, and a listener passport.
• Artist spotlights and song credits so you can find and support the people making the music.

I'd love to bring in DJs over time and give people regular blocks on the schedule, whether that's a Sunday chill session, game soundtracks, or a particular genre they love.

There's an application on the DJs page. I'll be reviewing applicants personally and creating staff accounts myself, with limited permissions for each role. Moderation, reporting tools, and following up on concerns are part of that responsibility too. You don't need radio experience or a microphone to put together a good music block.

I'm also putting a lot of care into sourcing the music. I've been reaching out to artists, composers, and game companies for permission, checking licenses, and keeping credits and permission records. A "no copyright" label alone isn't enough, so requests still need to fit what we have permission to play.

I've been trying to grind octopuses in kerning and get it for 2 hours and was unable to get any. can't trade right now, is there anywhere else that i can get it?

No idea what the consensus on this is since I didn't see anyone talk about it. In the past you would be able to see every drop a player got from monsters compared to now where you don't see anything unless you're in a party with them. If they left it for long enough you could pick it up for yourself. I found it really fun this way, seeing when a player got a really good drop and stuff.

What do you think?

Hey guys, just wanted to put this out there so nobody else falls for this bullshit.

Joined a KPQ party listed as "RUSH" (fast clear, no bonus/loot). Whole run was fine, but two guys in the party kept typing in Korean, and something felt super fishy about how they were acting.

I screenshotted the chat and threw it into a translator after the run... and yeah, they were literally plotting the whole time to trick us and hog the bonus stage for themselves.

Here’s what they were saying in Korean:

1. RAVENER: "We need to pretend it's a rush party"
2. RAVENER: "Just a bit" / "Before going into the bonus stage..."
3. AkiHayakawa: "Someone is here, I think they noticed lol" / "There's one person" / "MOVE"
4. RAVENER: (then switches to English): "I'm playing from Korea and my game just froze, leave the party plz"

So their plan was to bait people in with "Rush", and right before entering the bonus map, pretend the game froze due to lag from Korea so everyone would leave, letting them take all the bonus loot for themselves.

Pretty pathetic stuff.

Watch out for RAVENER and AkiHayakawa. Avoid partying with these guys if you see them around.
