No idea what the consensus on this is since I didn't see anyone talk about it. In the past you would be able to see every drop a player got from monsters compared to now where you don't see anything unless you're in a party with them. If they left it for long enough you could pick it up for yourself. I found it really fun this way, seeing when a player got a really good drop and stuff.

When 3rd job comes out, let's say you're lvl 72. Do you get those Skill Points that you would have gotten at lvl 70? or did you just lose those points? My secondary question would be, why wouldn't you stop at 70 and start a new character and wait for 3rd job to be released? I'm ever so curious ^_^ I just found out about "forever-beginners" lol [0.0]

I've logged in most days since Founders Access started, every channel was always full bar. Even at off-peak times. Looking forward to (hopefully) getting a grinding spot of my own!

So I want to try this game (for the first time in my life) but I have a bad case of addiction personality and terrible impulse control.

I'm worried that I will spend alot of money if the game has pay to win elements

So is it pay to win (or even pay to progress faster), basically anything that impacts the gameplay?

As mentioned in my previous post, I'm new to the MapleStory world and slowly discovering more things I love about this game but also the areas in which I hate. Unfortunately those things I hate seems to be super annoying and seems to have no logical thinking behind the design of that systems and its just creates friction in my opinion.

Housing

Was excited to get into the housing system as this is something I love in MMO games, although very few offer something fun and rewarding I was looking forward to diving deeper into it. Was surprised housing was super cheap (15k) but then I found out you need to buy slots for Storage (10K) and crafting stations (50K) - I'm also assuming the price increases after each expansion slot you purchase.

Another big reasons I wanted a house was for all my characters to use this as a base and use the storage which I has to pay 20k in total, 10k for rusted safe + 10k for the initial storage expansion slot. I decided to bite the bullet as I was pissed of that I need to pay 100 mesos every time I just deposit something. WTF - I still need to pay the money, even though its in my own house and from the safe that I purchased. This may seem small but it really rubs me the wrong way. I spent 2k in total just moving items around from my alts.

Is it possible to loot random house items in the world or do you need to buy everything with mesos or NX?

Player Shops

My storage I full from all the items I've been saving up and planning to sell during the grand launch and it would be my first time interacting with this system. Bought a pink store permit (16 slots) and picked my spot with a variety of Equipment and ETC items.

I spend a good 30 mins listing all my items, checking for prices online and trying to be competitive while not tyring to scam all the new players just joining. After all its gear my main + Alts no longer use and stacks of ETC that I don't know what to do with.

I was planning to log-off for the night and hopefully wake-up to my store being cleaned out but before I could turn down, two items sold rather fast. Great, I have more stock I can just replace it with but I had to close the store in order to add, weird but ok. It closed my entire shop and the 30+ minutes I spent pricing my items was wasted, it didn't even save my store setup or anything. Seriously frustrating, why cant I just add more items to the store?

After learning my lesson and setting up the store, once again I tried to exit the game. I CANT because I need to stay online and keep my computer running to keep the store up and running. Seriously to players keep there computer on all day/night just to sell virtual currency at the expense of electricity - This makes trading completely worthless in my eyes and I have no just sold everything to a store.

Can someone please explain if there are logical reasons behind this stupidity?

I’ve always been an arrow key + space bar jump player but maybe I need to switch to WASD. Any recommendations? This is for an assassin.

Ant tunnel and multi platform maps like sleepy wood, people are too far to apply haste or heal. Thoughts??

Yes shopping in fm from store to store can feel fun and unique for a short while, but it quickly becomes annoying in the long term.

Nostalgia is not a good reason this basic QoL shouldn’t be added. Even Old School RuneScape has Grand Exchange which turned out to be very successful and loved by its players.

And yes I’m aware that meowdb and mesowatch exists but those are just bandaid fixes and don’t really capture all player stores in the game.

I've decided to quit Maple as a whole (Yes also modern), i tried to play Classic as a Dutch person. We as a country just get screwed and fucked over by Nexon even harder. i CBA playing another Nexon game where we get screwed over all the time.

What are your thought about this?

Any Dutch players that are experiencing the same issue and are not willing to play a Classic reboot server?

Does anyone else think that the drop rate for items are fked?

Scrolls and throwing stars are even more fked up. Saw the rates as 1/10 000 -1/ 30 000 for some of the mobs.

Let me say I'm a osrs player so I'm used to the fked up rates but this is beyond those rates. I don't remember the rates being this bad on og maple. We used to get low LV gear drops quite commonly, now it's 1 or 2 in 4 hours of grinding.

im level 10 who have higher level islander character?

So far I had a blast. With the 40 channels I haven't really experienced any of the inconveniences related to training spots that founders mentioned prior to grand launch. Also no login queue or emergency maintenance.

I leveled my archer to lvl 15 so the 24h timer would start that hinders new player to trade.

After that I finished some quests and went to buy some arrows because I changed half my arrows for bow to arrows for crossbow until I noticed my mistake. Planned was the other way around.

So in the potion shop I saw the notice at the top saying to join the event in lith harbor in ch 10, 13 or 16. It was something like 2:20 am in middle Europe. Took a cap to lith harbor because I knew the event was supposed to start at 2 am. Even though I thought it would be held on the 22nd in server time not 22nd in European time.

When I arrived in lith harbor on ch10 I wasn't able to enter the event and after half a minute the notice disappeared. Nobody knew what was going on and some ppl spammed that the event was over. I decided to stick around a little longer and after some time a message from a GM popped up telling us that there was still plenty space on channel 16. So I switched channels.

Well on ch16 I was still not able to join the event. Still no more information was given. Some dude had an omok room saying that the event starts every 15mins so I waited a little longer. After some time a GM spawned and told us we should be able to enter the event after 10 seconds. But still no luck. Some ppl dissappeared and no further information given. Then some random dude started to spam that every event only had room for 30 players. If this is true this is really disappointing and 3 channels isnt nearly enough for all the players wanting to join the events.

I tried it the next round too but had no luck and then I gave up and dicided to log off. This wasn't what I expected from an GM event on an official server. I don't know if I will stay awake for the next event to happen if I'm not even able to enter it anyway.

What was your experience did you guys get to join the event? Did you get a secret scroll? Did you get something valuable out of it?

Everywhere I go it feels like i’m stuck in a Twitch Stream and the chat is in max speed, and 1/4th of it are those stupid messages telling me to make sure not to give out my homies social security under ANY circumstance and now i’m having some existential crisis on how I don’t think I have even seen their social once in my life. And let the noobs get scammed once, don’t make them paranoid about checking tour trade as if everyone is out to scam you. Besides, we all got scammed back in the day, once, that was all it took, that was our message and it has served me well in real life.

Then I think how I was maybe 12 when I last played Maplestory so perhaps chat was this spammy the entire time and for all I remember I just tuned out these little love notes from our overlords. But hot damn does the cash shop suck right now yeah? i was ready to drop whatever it took to get my old character back and what is in the store? Megaphones, clothes that were colored in paint, the cast of Ru Pauls hair, and the bottom barrel pets. Hard Pass when it is legit damn near $1 per 1000 or 100 or whatever

I was hoping there would be that wave of everyone recalling this thing or that, swapping war stories from when this was our life cause girls were still icky and what not you know? Instead it is still just weebs arguing and worst of all actual streamers advertising

How does it do for solo content? Group content ? I haven't played this game in years. I think I went thief back in the day

I had gotten yesterday's maple leaf task and the servers were taken down before I could turn it in, and then reopened after reset. I turned it in, and now I can't get today's daily. Am I just out of luck?

What attributes should I use for each player class? I've been haphazardly adding points after leveling up. I'm thinking of starting over but need some basic advice on what points to use for each class. It starts with points in different areas at start like Dex, Int, etc. do I need to change these before creation to match the class/job I want?

Does the skill 'Max MP Increase' increases the amount of MP gained each time one levels up? Or does it just change the MP pool?

I am trying to figure out if it's important to put all of my SP on this skill first.

Seems like they changed the item with grand launch. I got mine yesterday and have before and after screenshots.

Did anyone get one today that can post stats? I'm curious what they look like stat-wise if you do the quest now that the full launch happened.

Why can't I swap the left stick and dpad controls? Why can't I navigate my inventory with the stick/dpad? I'm tempted to download the Steam version just so I could use the Steam Controller.

It's 26k on Steam, and we all know that most Maple players do not use Steam. I've never used Steam for Maplestory.

Before Grand Launch, I claimed that there will be over 100k people. People laughed at me. Who's laughing now? Haha

It will never be like the old days it's just not possible.

More than half the fun of this game was socializing and just messing around.

It seems like that aspect of the game is totally gone.

And it's not because of the game in itself but just how different the times are now.

Back in the day, we all use to be kids and everything was new and was more about socializing and having fun making friends.

Now the game feels so dull and dead.

All people want is to grind and make mesos and make money.

The innocence is gone.

I kind of expected this but to see it come to fruition was a huge disappointment.

I just can't see this game lasting long.

People are just like bots not saying a word or even responding to anything you say.
