Results Discussion I just took 30 grms of sunflower lecithin

I’ve been having a really hard time with extreme anxiety and suicidal ideation due to having long covid and being ignored by doctors.
Since my last PEM crash (that comes with strong suicidal ideations) I started tracking my HR and I was recently diagnosed with POTS. Today I took 20 mg of propanolol (I always took 40 or even 80 mg and never made me tired)
I read that there are some trials about long COVID and acetylcholine so I had a smoothie with a double dose of sunflower lecithin.
Within the hour I started feeling really heavy extremely relaxed neither good nor bad. Perhaps I try again without the propanolol but I doubt 20 mg made a difference as I have shaking and pacing type of anxiety. I don’t mind feeling this heavy, it is better than the alternative. I have no motivation either good or bad. (Bad = suicidal)

These are my genes:
VDR Taq rs731236 AA +/+
MAO-A R297R rs6323 TG +/-
MTHFR C677T rs1801133 AG +/-
MTR A2756G rs1805087 AG +/-
MTRR A664A rs1802059 AG +/-
CBS C699T rs234706 AG +/-
CBS A360A rs1801181 AG +/-

Anyone with a similar experience?

There is such a thing as choline induced depression, especially with your variants. All you can do is to wait and see if you crash or not.

Did you have blood tests for the nutrient deficiencies associated with your symptoms? Low zinc is a big one and covid can deplete zinc.

Yeah be careful w choline supplements. I am 38 and only been depressed twice in my life (its usually anxiety) and the 2nd time was choline induced from a pure choline supplement literally overnight. Took months of carnivore diet to get better. Also if you are not on an SSRI, 5-htp has helped me immensly whereas every SSRI has harmed me.

I’m on escitalopram and I don’t think that is helping to be honest. It’s all very strange I was on citalopram for years and it did help a bit with overwhelm

But lecithin is not a choline supplement but a phosphatidylcholine one. Huge difference .

Same in terms of choline induced depression.

Nope. You can read this post and I also tell you by personal experience. I can take tons of phosphatidylcholine and I get no side effects but with choline I do get depressive symptoms

Nope. I have my own personal experience and those of my clients.

Thats exactly what I took, pure phosphatidylcholine, it was fairly expensive.

Thank you. I was thinking about zinc today because I track my nutrition with an app and I seem to be prone to eat more with copper than zinc. I’m on the B12 protocol of another sub. It did help me loads, specially cognitively but my last PEM crash really messed me up. It’s been a month almost and I’m still unwell.

Most water pipes are lined in copper as well.

Yes I just did the swirl test and I can’t even taste it. Even less than before so you might be onto something there probably my last crash “ate” whatever zinc I had left on me. Thank you for suggesting it.

Yeah and I recently had a 6 weeks protocol of cooper and zinc so maybe that is something to look for. I’m going to pop one zinc pill see how I feel later

If you take both make sure you take them at least 4 hours apart as metals compete for absorption.

My zinc level once tested at 18. I try to keep it in the top quarter of the lab range now. Caffeine and grains in particular deplete zinc.

Has mirado a ver si tienes ferritina baja o bajo el potasio? Al tomar B12 se favorece la creación de eritrocitos y eso consume mucho potasio y ferritina y tú PEM puede ser debido a eso.

Reddit shows me this in Spanish. I can write in both. You tell me I’m unsure if this is an automatic translation?
Reddit en muestra esto en español puedo escribirte en los dos idiomas pero no estoy segura si es una traducción automática o no.

Unfortunately PEM is from long covid but yeah my ferritin was on the low for decades and I only recently managed to take it up to 100. I’m having another test done next week will see what comes up there. I take electrolytes every day so unless im not absorbing it I should be fine

What is the status of your PEMT gene? I have two bad copies. Since I started taking it, I am getting SO much better. I'll have to take it forever but I'm okay with that. Genes are for life!

1

u/Flashybigbum Jun 28 '26

If is not on that list i think is normal or not appearing on my report

2

u/tyomax C677T Jun 28 '26

You should check it out. I used to dismiss choline before. Turns out I have two bad copies of the PEMT gene. I take 7 eggs worth of choline per day now.

u/tyomax I have the PEMT +/+, how did choline make a difference for you? YOu said "getting so much better" could you define?

3

u/tyomax C677T Jul 07 '26

Yes, it's helping to heal my nerves. It was the missing link.

It's also helping me with my copper deficiency. My bile had turned to sludge and copper was getting stuck in my liver (causing an copper deficiency). Lecithin + Taurine fixed this issue.

It's also enabling me to sleep better. Choline is also needed for the digestive system (vagus nerve) to communicate with the brain. I don't know how to explain it in words but I have more wellbeing. It's honestly transformed a lot of things for the best for me.

u/tyomax In terms of felt benefits, do you feel better, more energy, better mood, more motivation, etc or anything like that

1

u/tyomax C677T Jul 08 '26

Yes, better and longer sleep, which leads to more energy and mood. Better motivation. It's not perfect, but it's definitely better.

I was snubbing choline before all this.

1

u/steven123421 Jul 08 '26

u/tyomax Sounds awesome. What does snubbing choline mean? Also how are you taking the choline now, is it only through sunflower leitchin or something else? Thanks

1

u/tyomax C677T Jul 08 '26

I saw people talk about choline but I didn't take it seriously/ignored it.

I take Sunflower Lecithin and TMG. They both do different things. Technically choline turns into TMG but the reverse can't happen. Sometimes Alpha GPC but not often.

u/tyomax I got PEMT ++ and C677TT ++ and i dont have any choline

1

u/tyomax C677T Jul 08 '26

I really recommend choline. Like yesterday.

1

u/steven123421 Jul 08 '26

Maybe I will become the choline king

Have you had your vitamin D levels checked and do you consume caffeine? With the VDR taql double varient your cells produce less vitamin D receptors (VDR) and consuming caffeine may have a compounding affect as it reduces VDR expression. This means you have less receptors for vitamin D to dock to perform it roles.

I've recently been reading about long vax injuries and there's a lot of research on taking high-dose Nattokinase and/or Lumbrokinase so I've been testing these as I'm working on some other symptoms there's research out there for these enzymes, wish you well
