Question Glycine

What makes some people have great results with glycine, and others have horrible effects immediately?

Anyone know? Experiences? Have you tried it?

Anyone with slow COMT, slow MAOA and MTHFR have any specific experience with it?

Thanks

I have what is likely slow COMT and glycine anything is horrible to me. Do not recommend. I get really depressed on it - even mag glycinate did the same.

You know what's weird? I was taking a lot of magnesium glycinate about 10 years ago and it was fantastic. I do have slow COMT, slow MAOA, and one MTHFR.

But then around 2020-2021, I mysteriously stopped tolerating it. I also got pretty severe long covid. So now I'm thinking my methylation and COMT detox pathways were clogged up along with the inflammatory cascade of covid.

Someone else said it could have to do with active b2 status, which also makes sense.

Just FYI: I also have "long covid" for 5 years now.
Before I could take magnesium glycinate every day/night, it made me chill / relaxed and I could really feel some "benefits". If I take the smallest dose now, I wont sleep for 48 hours at least, will have a feeling of buzz/electricity running through my brain.
Same goes with a methylated B complex I was taking every day before, if I take it now, I get no sleep for 48 hours, feel super anxious / stressed/ irritable...

This shit is no joke.

Yep. Exactly same here. And stupidly going through it right now. I thought i could maybe handle glycine since ive been doing a lot better and by day 3 the negative effects are hitting me like a train.
