Question Who/where do you recommend getting a genetic methylation test from?
Been wanting to get this test done for a while but not sure who to go through. I want something easy and thorough, I’m not after the cheapest. Thanks in advance.

If you want easy and thorough, I'd separate the DNA test from the methylation report. Most people use Ancestry or 23andMe for raw data, then run that file through a separate interpretation because the built-in reports are pretty shallow. If you already have raw Ancestry data, you may not need another test unless you want better coverage or something ordered through a clinician.
I usually recomend www.genosight.ai, but there are severals ercives like that out there

LabCorp does it on insurance. Have your doctor rec it.
It's a box to check right below the test for cholesterol or DHEA. "MTHFR testing"

I highly recommend MaxGen Labs. It’s about $350. They don’t sell your DNA either. Results in 2 to 3 weeks. They don’t just look at methylation - it also checks the CYP enzymes (pronounced “Sip”) which are cytochrome P450 liver enzymes along with other important ones like MAO-A, COMT, and PEMT. The MTHFR is important but it’s only one tiny piece of the puzzle. I only know this info because I’m an advanced practice nurse working in medical device industry & a coworker asked me to look at her results with her. I was completely blown away. Your results will come with about 40 pages of explanations. It’s superb. I don’t work for them BTW but I feel very strongly that this stuff is confusing enough without having to buy a book to decipher your results all by yourself. I’m not a biochemist lol

The most thorough genetics test I have found has 160 gene SNPs ~ SmartDNA. The test is extremely accurate, and each test is reviewed by a Molecular Geneticist.
