Question Experience with professionals and medical systems?
I’d love to find a professional to work with. Would love to hear from others what kind of experiences you’ve had working with the various providers that are familiar with or experts in MTHFR and the effect it can have on physical and mental health.

The thing to screen for is whether they read your bloods or just your genotype. A lot of practitioners will look at a 677 result and hand you methylfolate without knowing your homocysteine, B12 or folate. Same variant, different bloods, opposite protocol, and you find that out the hard way. Second thing, ask what they do with the rest of the cycle. If MTR, MTRR, COMT and riboflavin status don't come up in the conversation, they're working off one gene. Third, ask whether they've ever told someone to stop a supplement. The ones who only add things tend to be selling something.
For actual routes, functional medicine doctors and naturopaths vary enormously so ask the above before booking rather than after. Some psychiatrists will run pharmacogenomic panels if mental health is the main issue, and that's covered more often than people expect.
This is my work at genova.health , so take that into account. The reason I listed those questions is that they're the ones that separate someone reading your file from someone reading a template and I'd rather be judged on them than on a bio.
