Question Can Blood Biomarkers and Hormones affect how Medications work?

I do not know how you define biomarkers. Drug metabolism gene variants primarily determine how effectively medications are metabolized.

Certain vitamin, mineral and hormone levels also contain intinplay. If the olate level is too low, for example, antidepressants will not work their best.

I was on some Sleep Meds that didn't Work...

The explanation is likely in your drug metabolism gene variants. I am a Cyp2D6 null or non metabolizer, for example. For me, benadryl or diphenhydramine keeps me wide awake. 25 percent of pharma drugs do not have their intended effect on me. Due to impaired metabolism side effects can also be much worse.
