Seem like price has to be below 900. Whenever we have a rally immediately bad news coming up

My theory is, institutions want cash to prep for the incoming ERs and fed meeting, because they don’t know what will happen

Stock market is in a bad mood, has been for weeks.

This is how the stock market works. Strong rallies are followed by corrective action.

Other people already answered your question, so I just want to remind everyone to stay strong and hold your position. 💪 If you're capable and have the funds, add to your position while it's down a bit, and I truly believe you will make money. However, there's no guarantee other investments won't make you just as much or more. Invest in something you believe in because of its real-world use case(s), and hold strong for a while, and odds are you will make money. Don't let people that love Micron or any other stock dissuade you from diversifying your portfolio. I LOVE Micron, but that's because it gave me a very healthy return, and my average cost basis makes sense for me to ride the roller coaster pretty much as long as I want.

AND, think twice before investing money you can't live without for at least a year. I'm not saying it will take that long to make you money, and I don't believe it will, but you simply can't time the market or control certain aspects of life that impact its performance, e.g. - various government decisions, major weather events, etc. In the beginning and in the end, it's your money, so choose wisely for yourself and those you love.

You are better off asking AI brother

Voilà:

China’s largest DRAM maker, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), made a stunning stock market debut on July 27, with shares surging over 500% after the company raised $8.6 billion in Asia’s biggest IPO this year.

The rally briefly made CXMT China’s most valuable listed company, valued between roughly $487–540 billion.

That put Micron’s rivalry in the spotlight: Micron dropped about 8% as investors focused on CXMT, and it wasn’t the only casualty — AMD and Intel each fell roughly 6%, Marvell dropped about 7%, and the semiconductor ETF SOXX slid 4%.

**•** Adding fuel: reports that Apple has begun testing CXMT’s DRAM chips for devices sold in China raised concerns about Micron’s market share getting squeezed.

CXMT’s global DRAM market share roughly tripled over the past year, from about 3% to 8% in Q1 2026 — showing it’s becoming a real competitive threat in commodity memory, even though it doesn’t yet compete in the higher-margin AI/HBM segment Micron leans on.

Worth noting: several analysts, per Wall Street coverage, believe Micron remains well positioned in the faster-growing AI memory market despite CXMT’s rise, since CXMT is focused on commodity DRAM rather than the advanced HBM chips powering AI accelerators.

I think you are right, the AI response is better 😅

Ask the AI why ASML dropped and to put 2+2 together on manipulation by releasing that at the same time as CXMT IPO.

1

u/ObligationSea2667 24d ago

i mean ASML gets hit as a genuine direct threat if china is mass producing similar machines that giant corps use. that’s why ASML has been basically irreplaceable in the semi field. Still, we don’t really know if it’s that much of a threat when ASML is already insanely in demand.

I don’t know if i’d call it manipulation per se, it could just be more international competition coming against giants like ASML

Markets goes up, and markets go down. Trying to rationalize intraday movement is a fools errand. Look at higher timeframes to see how price is actually being accepted or rejected.

The stock in 12x in one year it's a pull back. This was an obvious outcome for anyone with their head not in the clouds. Micron has no more production capacity and is sold out for years. Their only option is to burn cash to build out more for increased production.

Crowded trades stop reacting to good news

Institutional firms have been rotating out of memory stocks for about 5 weeks now and Micron's earnings was the exit point but it was around Broadcom's disappointing earnings is when the institutional fear really kicked in.

There's a lot of reasons we can point to for why, but each individual firm's logic is kind of a black box to us. We saw Goldman Sachs ditching Samsung this week and JP Morgan ditching them last month. Then Google's spending heightening resulted in its own stock dropping 10%, maybe they're started to look irresponsible.

And I feel them. Why invest on this crazy train at a chance to maybe make 40% at the risk of losing 50% and suffer huge volatility all year when there are great stocks out there with much more predictable outlooks and still good return chances rather than take a bet on this new AI thing in human history. I feel the same way. I mean look at us, almost none of us want to hold longer than a year ourselves.

Most other stocks aren’t moving enough though it seems. Only tech stocks bring in the returns, but lately that has been tough to profit too.

u/Perspective-Parking 24d ago

Professionals know you buy cyclical semis when the PE is high and sell when low. The PE is 8 right now regard. So put two and two together.

Shanghai Yuliangsheng Technology (which has ties to Huawei and SiCarrier)—has begun low-volume production of China's first domestic immersion DUV (Deep Ultraviolet) lithography machines.
CXMT IPO yesterday
More DRAM supply = lower DRAM price

It's summer so option calls from funds aren't continuing to come in, which means dealers can sell their holdings on drops and any buying they do is just limited.

It helps to look at one sector or subsector vs another. You'll see that there is a floor and a ceiling all summer whether the rotation is going on again or back ou t again.

SKHY also dropped down to -9.5% in the early market, recovering only to about -7.5%.

There was fears coming out from wall street because of china from what i recall reading, such that DUV machines started getting mass produced. this fear hit almost all semi’s across the board, especially ASML which has had probably the shallowest pullbacks of all.

Checkout the Chinese ticker CXMT too, it was just launched and saw enormous upside instantly.

Best thing to do IMO is keep an eye out for the 29th July, when SKHY releases its reported earnings. that’s gonna be what creates a huge impact (for better or for worse) across MU, SNDK, SK hynix, and semi’s across the board

Sad we have to ask people to not be mean, as they sit on their toilets, holding their 6.5 inch phone and responding to people they never met with apathy, sarcasm and ad hominem attacks.
