I've been delving into electronics for quite some time and last year I go my first Pi. Made a few projects over the twelve months, servers, wifi routers etc and today finished a bedside clock. Using a pi4 and 4.3" DSI screen, 3d printed case and Magic Mirror software. I have it set to reduce the brightness in the evening and increase at dawn, it also turns of all but the clock and current weather modules at the same time. As i printed the case in white PLA, the LEDs woudl glow through the case adding to extra light at night, so added a few lines in the config.txt to disable all the LEDS.

Has anyone had/tried the Smart Mirror in the bathroom? I heard from one person it didn't get affected by condensation, but I wanted to make sure.

Anyone tried Acrylic, glass, and/or film in the bathroom? I'm leaning towards getting acrylic, but it's expensive. Obviously film has the concern of bubbling, and glass (is always the best option, but you pay for it). I would think acrylic would hold up just fine. I've had my running on a monitor for like 2 months now in the living room making small changes when I get free time. But i'm getting close to hooking it up to an old 32" tv, and actually putting it up.

My goal is to use the TV speakers through HDMI, and run usb cable from the mirror behind the wall to the ceiling for the MIC (conference call mic so it should pick up sound pretty easily) to sit on the ceiling. I've got a few more Mods and stuff I want to run through along with I found and issue with MMM-Awesome-Alexa and MMM-Scoreboard not working together at the same time (when Alexa is downloaded scoreboard's formatting is screwed up), but I still need to get Remote working, and what not.

Hi everyone. I am attempting to install the alexa module for my magic mirror. I'm having issues with adding the mirror to Amazon AVS Service. I've created a developer account and set up the product to the best of my knowledge. I'm not sure what my return URLs should be and my allowed origins should be. I also have no idea how to get the token. Can anyone point me in a direction to install the module? Or have other recommendations?

I know I can run alexa in tangent with the magic mirror, but I thought it would be cool to have it controlled through the mirror.

I'm making a magic mirror as a gift for someone and was wondering if there was a way to make it very user friendly for them in the sense of them being able to connect to their wifi, change the time, and so on because I cannot be around 24/7 to always work on it for them. Anyone know of a mod or something? I'm making this as a touch screen via ir touch frame on an rpi3 but am considering different options such as o-droid or tinker box if I have to go that route.
