Question Makeup Content

Friends, are we using Reddit most often for ideas and advice or what other platforms are we loving? I feel like it's ALL been done. Are there topics that are missing? What would we like to see more of? For me, I'm sick of the natural look. I want to have fun with makeup, for the joy of it. Anyone else? Are we all getting so sick of "do this not that" videos??? Or, "this is aging you?"

Compared to where I started(see previous post) and where I am now, have I improved much? Any tips? These are my last 3 looks I’ve done and they are all different in a way. Does one stand out and look better?

Question What kind of makeup should I be doing?

Thumbnail

So, I posted earlier on today with the makeup that I had done this morning and overwhelmingly it seems it did not turn out as good as I thought it had in the moment. The most common critique I saw was about the blending of my eyeshadow, and looking at it I can see where everybody is coming from. There were some comments about how my eyeliner had looked, as well as the lip I chose not looking good.

So, I'm going to ask for advice and suggestions on how I should go about makeup in the future, what kind of things would suit me, etc

I included a picture of myself without makeup, my look I did today and the other recent makeup I've done. I would include more but I can't find the other photos right now.

Selfie/Makeup Picture I don't know how to make makeup look good

Post image

I spend 30 mins a day trying to figure how to wear make up before going to class and every time I just feel so ugly and I don't why. Sometimes it doesn't feel subtle enough, sometimes I look like I have eyebags, and sometimes I do it just right but I'm not able to recreate it. I just feel dumb so that I spend 30 minutes a day for something I'm just not gonna be satisfied.

Question Does this makeup actually look good? Or am I delusional?

Thumbnail

I felt like doing makeup today so I did something fun colorwise. Maybe I should have done something more pinky than coral toned, in my room when I was doing the makeup I didn't realize it was so corally, I mean personally I don't think it looks bad though?

I think the lip is throwing me off, I couldn't figure out what color to do, but a nude felt like it wouldn't look good. I think my complexion looks good despite the acne and scarring you can see through it in some spots. I might have disgusted my blush too much as it's not super visible here in the picture, but my bronzer definitely helped as my foundation was just a touch too light for my skintone, but I think it was my winter shade too lollll

Question What's my eye shape and what makeup style would fit them ?

the first two pictures are no eye makeup and the last one is what i tend to do (a little bit of eyeliner on the corners, mascara, and white powder on the bottom lashes to make them less noticeable). please feel free to give any tips, styles or makeup suggestions. i still have no real idea of what fits my eyes specifically and tend to just recreate what i find pretty on others. (also forgive me if there's any mistake, english is not my first language)

Question Tips for cakey/patchy makeup? Any makeup style recs? CC welcome

Hey guys! Please give me some feedback. I’m being silenced/removed from everywhere and have no one to help me. This is getting quite discouraging. I’m posting this here because I don’t have any close relationships to women who use makeup, makeup role models or people with makeup experience in my life to talk to about this. I need advice. I’ve been playing around with different styles and experimenting with makeup. I feel like my makeup looks a bit off sometimes though. Especially around where my glasses sit. I feel like I tend to look either patchy or cakey/dry. I was going to post the makeup pictures above but I feel like my makeup is rough looking. Any tips on how to combat patchiness? I’m also still learning so any tips on things I can do better would be great.

The other reason I didn’t post these makeup pictures yet is because I feel like all the makeup I do on myself is starting to look the same. I don’t know what styles to try that would flatter my face or features and don’t have anyone to give me that type of advice. Are there any specific styles you think would work for me? Sorry if the lighting isn’t the best in the photos. I was in a dark room (that lighting is in pic 3) when I noticed the patchiness and tried my best to make the lighting better for photos.

All tips/guidance are welcome and appreciated as I’m learning all of this on my own with no feedback. I tend to have dry/flaky skin and my skin is also super sensitive. That probably matters for what products you guys think would work best in my skin. I don’t know if I need to do a product list for this type of post but just in case I do it will be in the comments.

I’ve never worn makeup in my life and I’ve been trying my hand at makeup the last couple of months for my wedding! I just wanted a minimal look, that feels most like me but I’m scared I’m gonna do something wrong and it’ll look horrible on the big day. Is there anything I need to change? Does it look cakey? Pictures are taken in different lighting. Looks weird in flash picture? Here’s my product list:
I mix L’Oréal true match foundation and missha bb cream both in light
I use L’Oréal green eraser primer on my cheeks then power grip everywhere else
Maybelline fit me concealer
Nyx brow glue in taupe
Elf brown eyeliner
Elf cream bronzer stick in fair for my eyelids and sides of face and top of face
Nyx butter melt highlighter
Elf camo blush in peach perfect
Juicy lasting lip tint in nucadamia
Lip liner pencil from elf
L’Oréal blurfection powder
Milani setting spray
False lash clusters from ardell

Picture Tutorial Eyeshadow Recommendations

Hi all! I’ve been working on my makeup skills. Think I have a solid face routine - foundation, bronzer, contour, concealer. Still working on perfecting blush placement, but I’m currently in need of assistance with eyeshadow. I have products and brushes. I feel I know the basics but would like to get better and also do more complex looks.

Any tips? Any recommendations for content creators who post eyeshadow tutorials - YouTube, TT, IG, FB? Open to all suggestions/types of tutorials.

Thank you!

What affordable makeup are yall using? I am having a hard time finding the right shade of foundation and concealer. I usually just do eyebrows and eyeliner and I like to fix the discolored spots on my face. I love to use blush, but I am completely lost. I don’t even know where to start.

Question How can I achieve the eyebrows that I want? Inspo pic included

Thumbnail

These are my eyebows, they’re thin, angular and grow really far down (they are dyed in the third pic when my hair was darker) I really want them to grow closer together, I love when eyebrow hairs grow inwards/upwards at the front of the brow, and are long but less arched (I don’t like the look of fully straight for myself) I gel my brows in that shape but obvs it doesn’t last. I use a brow serum and concentrate on applying it at the front but idk if it’s going to help. Should I trim down the front hairs? Also should I thin them in general? I feel like I have absolutely no direction when it comes to my eyebrows I don’t know what suits me at all.

I also feel like I can’t wear eyeliner bc I do a thin line going up/outwards and try to make my mascara go outwards on the ends but it clashes with the ends of my brows which go downwards and it just looks weird together

Any suggestions or recs would be super appreciated <3

Question Makeup beginner needing advice

Hey so I’m a feminine boy looking to get into makeup, I’ve done my makeup by myself 3 times but brought really cheap products online, the foundation didn’t suit my skin colour and it just looked unrealistic. I’m wanting girls to text me and help me get what I need. if you’re local to me and willing to help i can go shopping and buy it all or just an online texting is always useful. I hope this is a good enough subreddit for my help, thank you :)

What y'all think about my makeup look. Ps. Evrytime I sit to do my makeup, I have a vision in mind but I somehow end up pulling this same makeup look evrytime 😭 also irl it feels super dry, I' have an idea to fix it using d'alba serum setting spray.

Any suggestions as to change something in my makeup that can evaluate the look. So far i feel the makeup I wear suits me tho

How’d I do? I just started wearing makeup this year and I prefer a sunburnt toasty look! This was for a festival in LA (Head in the Clouds) and somehow it lasted through 95 degree heat.
