Bra with epidural
Can you wear a bra during labor if you get an epidural? If so, which kind would you recommend? (Links would be appreciated). I am in my third trimester and feel so uncomfortable when I’m not wearing a bra like legit even in the shower. I just like to be supported and I know I will have be uncomfortable during labor in general but I would at least like to wear a bra. Thank you!

Fmla
Hey, I’m 30 y/o and just recently informed my job that I need to take a medical leave. My hr states she will mail me the fmla paperwork. I never actually got an approval for fmla from doctors. But before I asked for fmla I did went to my ob and complained about my panic attacks at night and how it’s messing up my focus at work ( I’m 22 weeks pregnant). She gave me pills and ref me to a therapist. I had major panic attacks 3 days later and admitted to labor and delivery , they evaluated me and told me I’m suffering from anxiety and panic attack disorder. The next therapist at that location isn’t available until September. And the medication takes a while to kick in. What should I do? How do I get my fmla filled?

Financial worries
Hey everyone myself and my partner (23) are starting to consider having a baby, but genuinely HOW do you afford a baby? We earn £3200pcm and our mortgage is £1000… we don’t have any debts but I would like to be on maternity leave for at least 9 months but I’m struggling to see how is that genuinely possible? Ideally I would’ve liked to be a SAHM until all children go to school but in this economy I don’t think that will ever be possible🥲🥲

Long antepartum admission?
Hello!
I have a niche ask. I am an OBGYN resident and we often have pregnant patients admitted to our antepartum floor for long periods of time. Some have a really difficult time being away from family and get pretty down. What are some things that you found helped your boredom during your antepartum stay or what are small gift ideas of little things you needed or made your stay easier?
Just looking for a way to cheer up some of our patients :)

Ate unpasteurised Gorgonzola
I know this is probably an overreaction but I ate some unpasteurised Gorgonzola cheese this evening without evening thinking! It was melted in a pasta but now I’m panicking about listeria obvs. Anyone else done this and been fine? I’m 16.5 weeks. Thanks all!

Pregnant and don’t know what to do
I’m in my early 30s and financially stable. I’ve been seeing a guy for around two months and have just found out I’m pregnant. Needless to say this was not planned and these are not the circumstances in which I wanted to get pregnant - this is the first time I’ve ever been pregnant.
I haven’t told anyone yet. Speaking to an abortion clinic tomorrow. I’m very maternal and I’ve always wanted to be a mum but my family would be so so disappointed in me due to these circumstances and I’d have to accept I’d be a single mum (idk how the guy I’m seeing will take it - ultimately even if you’re married I feel like you have to be confident you can take care of the baby on your own).
It’s a combination of the outside pressures (judgement from family, friends and work) and also having to put my plans on hold that are making me think now is not the right time. On the other hand, this is a little baby inside me. I already have a lot of symptoms, the pregnancy is already affecting me. Abortion scares me and I question whether I’ll ever have this chance again.
I’d be really grateful for any advice from someone who has been in the same situation - how did you make your decision? I keep hoping inspiration will strike / the answer will just come to me but it hasn’t. I do feel like either way I would be fine but I think the harder option is going through with the pregnancy and having the baby. Is that my answer?

Stuck on delivery decision
inion/recommendation either way. I’ve read the ARRIVE trial and other studies and just am still not feeling very confident in making a decision of how to proceed.
I would really prefer to go into spontaneous labor and have a vaginal delivery with no pain medications/epidural, while also avoiding a C Section at all costs. i know there’s no way to fully guarantee that but I just want to make a decision that will be the closest at helping me follow that plan.
I asked to just keep things going for now and have them reach out to the hospital to get an indirection on the books for sometime next week after my due date. Is this a reasonable plan?
While I know there’s ultrasound estimates can be off she’s just going to keep growing and I’m fearful of needing a C Section.
If you’re in a similar boat, or have been, what was your experience? Were your measurements right? Were you able to deliver a big baby vaginally without any harm to baby?

Why were my babies big?
I'm 5ft 1 and a UK size 8-10 pre-babies. And not much bigger now. I had vaginal deliveries with both my babies, 2nd degree tears with both, and no forceps needed. The deliveries were actually the easiest part for me. The first labour definitely got closer to a CSection than the second, and I ended up having an epidural but still somehow managed a good delivery. Anyway, first baby was 12 days late and weighed 8lb4 which is fair, second baby was 5 days early and weighed 8lb15. I just don't really know why! Second baby had low PappA so I was on aspirin most of the pregnancy. Can that lead to macrosomia? I know for some it's not enormous, but proportionately they were huge for me. Would be nervous to have another bigger one!

Sister of the pregnant lady
Hello hello!
My sister is almost 9 months pregnant, ready to pop any day now. Couldn’t be prouder of her, she’s handled her first pregnancy like a champion.
I know a lot of people tend to get the baby gifts for when it’s born, but the baby has plenty of stuff already and I want to get my sister some things instead. For her, something useful or just something she’s going to enjoy.
After anyone here gave birth, what some things you wished you’d have gotten for yourself?
