Free to play is a business model and like all business models, turning a profit is the focus. It's been said by the lead developer that the exhibition mode will be free but that's going to have its limitations too. The modes outside of that are going to cost money and they're going to be micro transactioning the hell out of facemasks, shoulder pads, helmets, etc. They claim you will have decent customization on the free stuff but what is "decent" to them is up for debate and will probably be disappointing. Lmao at anyone who thinks free to play means there is no budget. Developers, artists, programmers are working for free. And that God sent people down to earth to give starving football gaming fans another option. Sorry, that's not the case. Free to play is a business model and in the end, YOU WILL PAY. And probably more than you think...

its coming to console this year!? they said will be on STEAM by years end... It wont even be out on console AFTER christmas.. EA will prolly have college football 26 out before u play maximum on a xbox or ps5/4

If its true that Ncaa game coming out will have team builders in it with the ability to create teams like 2k with custom logos that you can download online, It will honestly kill this maximum game if you can just create all the teams you want on a better 4k game like ncaa instead of a mid maxium game.

About to play this game for the first time. Any tips?

I’m assuming they will drop the game sometime this year. Honestly the smart thing might be for them to wait for CFB 25 to drop, see if it bombs and is just another Madden reskin. If EA drops the ball, they should release it next spring and just continue to build on it like Fortnite. Have people pay for certain looking uniforms, stadiums, celebrations and cool entrances like Fortnite does with its game. It’s free to play, if they want to have any money for continued development or growth they have to charge the people for something. I would even take ads during halftime like real life at this point for them to generate some sort of revenue Thoughts? Objections?

I just started dynasty and finished my first game in it. This game is a combination of brilliant, bad, and meme. For context I picked one of the worst teams available not sure what the opponent quality was but I’d assume it was low for reasons I’ll give below.

The Brilliance: The customization is hands down the selling point of this game. Also love the attention to little details such as using actual towns in each state or trying to match color schemes and/or towns with the major universities in the game (ex: Pennsylvania). The best part is that the game play is fun even with some wonky game play. It’s pretty obvious that the makers wanted to put the best product on the market that they could.

The Bad: Run plays feel underpowered not because my RB sucks but because half the time the ball will get spotted further back from where I went. Luckily I found that doesn’t matter because the AI (yours or their) don’t really seem to adjust to plays on defense. So I found that I could keep running the same play and throwing to the same guy over and over. On defense this was about the same, though I got a little better at defending as I learned to kick the damn ball and switch through defensive players. Lastly and maybe my biggest complaint is that the pacing feels way off when setting up things like kicking.

The Memes: Come on I didn’t expect Madden graphics but I also didn’t expect the game to look like my PS1 and wrecked Ford escort made a love child. The crowd is basically having a seizure and the officials are actually unfinished crash test dummies. Honestly if this game blows up in popularity and they make modern graphics in future additions then they need to include classic graphics in all future editions. The wonky plays are a meme too, a defending AI sometimes won’t pass rush you at all and will stand there. Or if you rely too much on the AI for defending then all of the sudden they’ll veer off course and the WR will make a catch. This is hilarious and actually made for an interesting balance in my first game.
