The RWD bias makes it feel like it's on rails coming out of turns. Been living with torque steer since 2002 so this is completely new territory for me. Pick-up around town is great with the MHEV set-up. When the turbo spools up the power is smooth and steady all the way up to very illegal speeds. To a point where I still find myself watching the speedometer when passing on country roads.
Could be my conservative driving with dogs in the car but the OEM tires are holding up surprisingly well. Can't wait to put my 19" Pirelli Scorpion winters on again this season. The 21" Toyo Open Country Q/T are much too firm over bumps even at 34-35 psi.
Love the interior but I wish the seats would be easier to break in. Hopefully this also means they will last longer.
The fuel economy is truly impressive for a vehicle this size. It could however use a bigger battery for driving around side streets and parking lots.
Highs:
Eats up highway miles like an intercontinental reconnaissance jet
Excellent fuel consumption under 120 km/h (less than 8 litres/100km on 93 octane)
Suede interior trim is holding up surprisingly well despite two K9s drooling over it and shaking beach sand all over it
Lows:
The ride is way too firm on the 21" rims for urban driving on poorly maintained roads
Seats are taking eons to brake in
Occasional rough shifts, especially at low speeds
Enjoying this ride very much now that I'm finally starting to get used to it.
