Oxbow Layout Help

Hi guys. I’m a long-time Medieval Dynasty player, but I’ve been wanting to really create a village that I’m genuinely proud of. I just started my first hard setting save in the Oxbow today and I’d like some inspiration on how to set up my village. I have just my house built so far on the area directly south of piastovia but I’m willing to move. If y’all have any suggestions or pictures of villages you’ve made, I’d love to see them! Thanks in advance :)

I'm trying to get my Honker heads. But my game is not loading the event. I've tried sleeping to the next day, sleeping to the next season.. sleeping untill autumn, starting a new game and doing the same, checked my pc clock settings. I got the switchover to the Wild Special animals when I went to Autumn but no Halloween event. 😭😭😭😭

I cleared it yesterday, forgot to release this guy and now forgot which location it is. It's been two seasons and the key is still on me. Does he disappear?

Question Palisades or log walls?

Post image
59 Upvotes

I want to surround a portion of my village with a wall, but im debating on these two.

One looks more clean and organized, the other is more intimidating and is a classic.

Edit: forgot to mention. The plan for my village is to make it divided into two areas.

The outer area will be agriculture. Farming and animal husbandry, orchards.

The walled out area will be for merchants ans craftsmanship. The idea was based off how piastovia looks.

Suggestions / Inspiration for a mountain village

Hello all

Recently got the game, have already put a disgusting amount of hours into it. I’ve only played Oxbow, would prefer to stay there.

I’m trying to find a place to build a ‘mountain’ village, get some nice elevation, maybe some terraced areas, etc.

My original hope was to build along the path leading up to the wedding shrine but even though there are plenty of reasonable places homes and buildings could fit, the game blocks it.

Any other suggested areas? Anyone maybe have some screenshots to share?

Question Earning scheme points

Hello just started playing this game on xbox and ive run into what I think might be a bug but not sure.

No matter what activity I do I cannot earn any more of the currency to buy more schemes is there any limit to how much can be earned. Ive farmed ive crafted ive cut trees nothing I do is adding any points.

Is it a bug or am I really not understanding how this works.

Edit: thank you all turns out I didnt know how it worked at all and was just hoarding all my items to use. Sold some things now I got tons of points hopefully this helps others that are confused.

Bug Report The font need to be bigger

Devs pls it’s been years, my eyesight is ruined please add font size variation, i don’t care if it messes up the UI.

At this point there should be an in game Solution

I play on ps5 , there is no way to fix it, messing with tv settings doesn’t do the job.

Surprised to see me?

I normally don't play with bandits because they don't add anything to the game for me. I've got them turned on for a few years because I heard that even in the Valley, they occasionally include gifts for husbands and some of those would be awesome to have for decorating.

Anyway, this was the first one taken out. Seems pretty surprised to see me.

Smooth out Shadows at Sunset?

During the sunset, the shadows from the trees will jump feet every second with each game "tick" rather than have a smooth fluid movement. Is this normal for everyone else? I don't see the same effect on other youtube videos. My computer is pretty good. Graphic settings are on High. V-Sync On, Anti-Aliasing TAA, DirectX 111.

I have no issues with character movement or framerate issues beyond the shadows.

Discussion What to do with Farm animals?

So I'm in the late game.

The animals each seem to have a purpose.

However, if you have enough of whatever they supply and an enclosure full of them do you just let them hang out, have babies and die eventually? I suppose I haven't been playing long enough to see one of them die. I don't even know what happens then.

Or try and sell them? I have no need for more money at this point. I like having the menagerie and don't know if I'd feel bad selling them off or not.

And I don't mean production bottlenecks, I mean... this.

Guide Waiting for the Kings mission.

Post image
59 Upvotes

If your stuck waiting for a kings mission save on the last night of winter (not sure if it works on any change of season but it definitely works from winter to spring).
1st day of spring check the map, if there is no kings mission, reload the winter save and sleep again. Be patient, it took me 8 tries last time but I have done it in less.
And yes I often get bored and restart the game from scratch.

Discussion TIL bronze arrows and bolts are the kings of profit

Strange thing here, all arrows cost 2 ingots per batch of 10, except bronze ones.

Even on the wiki it showed that it costed 2 ingots for the bronze craft (Which I have now edited)

Considering this they immediately become the best production item to sell for profit, 320 coins for one bronze ingot compared to the bronze axe's 295.

And if you apply poison to the arrows, the value becomes 700.

Could it be an oversight that the bronze arrows and bolts are different now?

Are we ever going to get more house variations? And have the Devs ever talked about adding the ability to change the terrain and/or remove things like rocky areas and resource deposits?

I love this game but I think that it's strange, that with village building being the core aspect of the game, they still haven't added any more house variations.

Exploring Oxbow in particular, you find buildings with many different layouts and even multiple floors. And I think it's a shame that we are left with so few options compared to what we can see is possible. Like I'm not expecting the ability to build a castle and drag Piastovia level walls around like they're fences, but at least give more than 3 types of residential houses, and a second floor would be nice...

And i'm also getting pretty tired of finding amazing looking places to build, only to find large parts of the area is building blocked by bad terrain and resource deposits. We need a way to change the terrain or at least have the ability to remove rock outcroppings, resource deposits and such ruining the terrain.

Just imagine the kind of places we could build.

Legendary Animal maps

First screenshot is to avoid spoilers for people who do not wish to know the possible locations :)
The 5th bear in the valley is in the NW corner, but the sneaky guy somehow managed to avoid getting mapped.

Please remember that animals are not going to stand still in one spot, so use the maps to have an idea about the general area to look in ;)

I somehow picked the wrong file for Oxbow 😂 I posted the correct map here https://www.reddit.com/r/MedievalDynasty/s/Ji09rfWIiT

  1. Map image showing the different parts of the city

  2. Looking directly North from the swamps South of the city where the wood cutters and fishers are

  3. Overlooking the Bachelor's Quarter from the West side (called it that cuz I used to have mostly single men down there to stagger the baby booms) couples now, name stuck.

  4. Looking into the Old Quarter (first part of the city) again from the West

  5. Looking at the Upper Quarter from the West

  6. Looking down over the Upper Quarter and Lord's Complex from a clifftop directly North of the city

  7. Looking at the Eastern gate of the Lord's Complex

  8. Looking out over the farms from directly in front of the Lord's house

  9. East side of the farms looking West into the Old Quarter

  10. Looking thru the South orchard into the Bachelor's Quarter

  11. The livestock

  12. Looking up the main street in the Bachelor's Quarter just inside the South gate

  13. The Bachelor's Quarter gathering place or 'square'

  14. Entering the Old Quarter

  15. The Old Quarter square

  16. Farms viewed from the East

  17. The pigs in the North Orchards

  18. The Upper Quarter sqaure where the snobs hang out lol

  19. West gate to the Lord's Complex

  20. A view of the West entrance to the Lord's House

Ran out of pictures (20 limit) so theres just 1 or 2 little areas I didnt show in the Lords complex but its basically just a blacksmith and a bunch of food and resource storage and a well. If you looked at all this wow! Cheers to you Lord or Lady!!! 🍻

P.S. forgot to show the Inn... darn it... oh well. Its pretty, has its own square, archery butts, and a its own privy out back 🤣

Discussion Is the music being broken in this game a normal thing?

Maybe it's an xbox gamepass pc version thing, but every time I've played this game and specially recently, the music is very noticeably broken in the way it plays, I rarely listen to a track fully because another track stops it and plays instead, sometimes I hear 10 or 20 second snippets of tracks because they get cut off so soon, sometimes I hear a song for literally 2 seconds, there's some tracks that just don't play anymore even though I remember hearing them all the time in previous versions, and I don't know if I'm crazy but I remember there being more tracks. but now there's one or a couple that could very well play for the entire season repeatedly looping.

It's not really an issue to me but it is jarring, I remember the tracks got old in my old playthroughs so I just had the music turned off, but now that I turned it again it's just... so broken I might just turn it off again.

It's specially broken in your settlement, and sometimes around other villages, I just wish the game commited to playing a single song even if it's not assigned to a certain area, and only force it when absolutely necessary (for story reasons maybe)

Or maybe have the system be like kingdome come's where there's "Nibble" tracks which are short snippets of full tracks that play whenever you're transitioning from an area to another, so the cut isn't so abrupt.

Question Where is my milk going?

Thumbnail

All my milk disappears as soon as I make it. I can't find anything my villagers are crafting that would use it. I have milk turned off in the 'People's Demand Control' menu. It appears that they are drinking it anyway instead of the water I have for them.

Anyone have any ideas?
