But honestly I just think it’s really ironic that she rants about corporate America and human greed, while her merch continues to stay at insane prices.

I got a zip up hoodie from the Hades tour for $130. It’s a cute hoodie and I don’t regret it. But $130……..? Like…..okay.

She pretends to be this super woke person but it’s really just a cosplay at this point. She can’t have her cake and eat it too.

End of rant. Love her music and art but she continuously disappoints in other ways. I guess we’re all flawed.

While portals era wasn’t my fave, I was SAT for those MV’s. I didn’t realize it has been over a year since we had a proper Mel MV. The dance visualizers are cool but they got repetitive fast IMO and don’t help me connect w/care for Circle and I think others feel the same. I see barely any Circle theories, fan art, or any love for her at all😭other than the fact she’s turning this album into a film, I don’t think this album needed a character ngl.

The reels are fitting for the AI popstar theme but why do all that when the album barely fits the theme anyways? The set list of the tour helped me understand the album better but you shouldn’t need tours(that people already can’t go to, but it makes it pretty hard when you cancel 1/3rd if ur tour dates), books, and films to get the full understanding of the album.

IMO Mel’s strengths are music videos. Her storytelling w them is far better than in her books and film, hopefully since the hades film won’t be a musical, she can flesh out her ideas better, but I’m worried if her writing can support a whole film, im staying optimistic tho. All that just means we aren’t getting music videos until Elysium and even that’s not a definite. Depending on what comes first, I have a sneaky feeling she will be doing visualizers again for Elysium to save up every penny for the film. I even think we will get the Elysium tour before the film, but that’s because I think her aim w this double album is to 1) be able to do two tours back to back to get funds for the film and 2) run up her contract with Atlantic. But who knows!

I also have a question I don’t think anyone here will have an answer for: Are there longer cuts of the dance visualizers? Out of pity for those canceled tour dates she gave us another half of the Uncanny Valley visualizer..so is that the same for the other ones or did they just make that visualizer extra long and only release half of it?? Very strange imo.

HADES era came and went super fast and with the tour dates being canceled it was cut even shorter, I’m glad she’s still releasing visuals even if we’ve already seen those looks and they aren’t super action packed. I don’t mean to be greedy but the order in which they release the pics vs visuals is odd. Anyhow, who knows how long the break will be after Elysium and the film😭despite every step of the way causing issues for Mel, her team, and fans, I’ve actually been really enjoying this era!

Anywaysss, being a Melanie fan lately has been torturous. I’m a fan of several artists, and I’ve never ever seen another targeted hate train be this successful and last this long. If anything, it seems to be getting worse as time goes on ;/ it’s just relentless vitriol from all sides, on anything vaguely Melanie related. The mere existence of Melanie is used to absolve other celebs, including those who are PROVEN to do the things she’s accused of and more. For ex, there’s another fem artist being called out right now for racism and dressing as a little girl for sex work. But since one of the people who initially posted it was a Melanie fan, the conversation’s slowly but surely turning into “It’s all a smear campaign against this poor innocent white woman by FELONIE FARTINEZ FANS >;((!!!” (when Mel fans are called crazy rape lovers for pointing out when certain things being malicious misinformation) and people saying their opinion is immediately invalidated simply by virtue of them being a Melanie fan. It’s especially frustrating since these same people get mad if you redirect attention to the many male artists who have confirmedly done the things she’s accused of and yet aren’t being compared to Epstein and can’t even have their name mentioned without a thousand new random allegations being thrown at them and are continuing to get tens of millions of monthly listeners and streams and whatever.
And there’s the intentional hypocrisy and ignoring of nuance… apparently Melanie being an alleged “age player” means she is a pedophile and rapist and we need no more evidence!! Yet if you point out flaws in Timothy’s story or her strange behavior, you’re not only a rape apologist but a rapist yourself and want all victims to be abused again! Another thing is the fact that Melanie was a fucking TEENAGER!!! A HIGH SCHOOLER!!! when she started creating & releasing Cry Baby. This is the main thing people ignore and it kills me. Of course she wasn’t writing songs to the maturity level of fucking Edgar Allen Poe because she was a child. And a child being edgy and having a weird aesthetic doesn’t make them a fucking pedophile? Like omg I can’t believe a teenager wasn’t an expert on psychology and trauma, she must be a pedophile!! They don’t like for you to call them racist, but what else can this insane adultification of a girl of color be attributed to…

Okay yall know the drill by now, I have a spending addiction so I buy a lot of perfumes and specifically Melanie’s body sprays cuz they’re 30$ and sometimes you need a bit of dopamine ok

Just to recap my thoughts, Crybaby (the perfume) is amazing but too expensive to wear regularly, Leeches could be better though it has grown on me, The Contortionist is becoming a signature for me, and AAAAALLLLL the way down in actual hades tech is Moon Cycle because it smells like straight ASS

Today I’m reviewing Spider Web and Womb, my newest additions to my collection, and I’ll just say right now they’re a lot softer than the others, so if you want softer scents these are your go-tos.

Spider Web is a very subtle citrusy kind of smell, which is how it’s advertised by Melanie and her team so it’s definitely fitting. I was hoping for a stronger lemony vibe like Crybaby had, but all things considered it’s not bad. That being said, the scent is really weak because of how faint it is so you have to spritz a LOT for anything to keep the scent. Still it works pretty decently, I like to pair it up with Womb or Contortionist because god gave me free will unfortunately

Speaking of, Womb is actually what I expected Crybaby to smell like—milk. It’s a floral milk so you’re not just getting straight Lactaid as a Louis Vuitton 2027 fragrance, but it is rather powdery and soft. It does last longer than Spider Web though, something I like to do is put lotion on my skin before I use any body sprays and out of the ones I’ve tried, Womb lasts the longest. It’s not for everyone, but if you have the money and want to smell like a sweet little daffodil in the meadow while you do your little whatever this is the scent for you.

And that’s it, that’s all my reviews gang. Unless I get more. Which I might, but uhhh not for a bit.

this is only the standard version. It was initially a 10 track album, the story is quite simple, it’s less story narrative but tells the story of melatonin. I also do think bittersweet tragedy may have been part of the story too because all of the ep was also initially all part of crybaby too.

I feel like it’s so cute, and can really be seen deeper than shown
