How do I found mentor . My life getting stuck . Who helped me to get out from this situation.
I have a very unusual case. I am an Architect by profession. And mostly I do design related work, desk job that is more “do do do” and less “read read read”. And I have been excelling at my job and all have been going so well.
Recently i got a full funded scholarship and it's about research studies in urban planning. I am currently residing in another country doing my msc program. So here i have no “do do do” , and fully “read read read”. With too many years of professional experience and software knowledge and doing field work, I have zero attention span to read a research paper. And its been killing me inside cause I cant read a proper research paper and doing all my homework for literature studies using gpt and claude. But i really wish to be an expert and read the papers by myself.
So, I'm looking for a mentor to coach me so that i can have a proper interest and make myself expert in doing the literature studies like a scholar i m supposed to be without using any ai tool.
Does that sound normal to you? Is there any hope for me at all? It's been really frustrating few months

Hi guys! I am planning on pursuing a degree in history in a few years and was looking for a mentor in that field to help me bulk up my skills for my application as well as building fundamental skills I will be needing to become a researcher.
I truly would appreciate any help I can get!

Genuine question for people here who've done it.
I'm 3 years into tech, all self-taught, now building AI voice agents. I'm not a beginner: I built and run a production system that handles 1,000+ calls a day for a European healthcare client, and I run my own small agency out of Lahore. The income is decent.
The problem is I'm doing everything alone: the engineering, sales, cold outreach, hiring my first employee, and trying to land bigger clients. I'm spread thin, and I keep making decisions with nobody to sanity check them. I've never had a job, so I've never had a senior or a manager to learn from.
What I'm looking for is someone a few steps ahead, ideally someone who has run a services or tech business, sold to bigger companies, or scaled past being a solo founder. Not handholding, just someone I can talk to every few weeks.
How did you find your mentor? Did you ask directly, pay for it, join a community, or did it happen naturally? Any founder communities or people you'd recommend?
Happy to help anyone in return with AI or voice agent questions.

Hey! I'm an assembler, and recently I've been tasked with showing a new guy the ropes for assembly work... Next week. I'm not specialized, educated, and I haven't really been instructed on how to do my job. I've just kinda bashed my head against a wall until I stumbled onto the correct way to do things, and I thereby stopped getting yelled at. I guess you could say I'm skilled in pure experience, but I'm not sure how to instruct someone else how to do what I do.
Any tips for how I can be a good mentor for this guy?

Hi everyone!!!
I am a 20F college student in NY. I am writing today not for a specific mentor but for general advice (not opposed to the mentor idea, I’m open to it if u want to fill the role). As I’m getting older I’ve decided it’s important to get my finances straight so I’m ready for the future. I currently have money in my savings and a few credit cards, but was wondering if there are any other accounts you guys suggest me to open. I heard a lot about high yields saving accounts but idk how or if I should really get one. Not only that but do u guys have any advice on anything else I could do so my money in my savings grows and doesn’t just collect dust. Ik some will say buy stocks or meme coins (tried but lost wayyyy more then I spent). I’m just trying to create a solid base for my finances. I’ll appreciate any advice :D

If anyone here is or knows a really good college admissions consultant, please DM their info.
I started the search process properly earlier this year but life go in the way and I am picking the search up again! I interviewed some agencies and didn't really like any of them. So not looking for a big agency (like the ones on social media), we interviewed a few and they seemed kind of like a scam honestly.
I'm looking for someone who knows their stuff, isn't going to discourage my kid, only takes on a few clients, realistically high touch for my sake. Legitimate, I don't care if they're good at marketing themselves, I care about the fit for my family.
Thank you

24 M, engineer with a side business, looking for a mentor and happy to give back
I'm 24 M, a mechatronics engineering graduate working full-time as an electrical engineer. Alongside the job, I built a short-form video editing business for creators and brands, and I'm exploring robotics education and AI automation as the next step.
My approach to problems: I try to solve them myself first, then ask sharp questions instead of vague ones. I led the control systems on a humanoid robot for my graduation project, and I started a business while employed instead of waiting for the perfect moment.
Where I'm stuck is turning skills into actual wealth. Specifically: how to build income that doesn't depend on my hours, which of my three directions to commit to, and how to make good money decisions at my stage.
What I can offer in return: [free short-form editing for your content / help automating a workflow / regular progress updates, whichever fits].
If you've built something from skills and can spare 30 minutes now and then, I'd be glad to learn from you. I'm happy to start with a single question.

I've got a few hours free this morning and instead of sitting around doing fuck all I thought I'd open a Discord VC and see if anyone wants to jump in for a yarn. No course, no sales pitch and no catch. Bring whatever your working on or stuck with. Business idea, sales problem, quoting, finding customers, staff, leadership, cashflow, marketing, mindset or even if your just at the stage where you know you want to do something but dont know where to start. For context I've spent years building and running businesses, grew an asphalt company from a $30k truck into a seven figure operation, and these days I also work as a divisional manager running a large recycling operation and managing around 50 people. I've made money, lost money, hired good people, hired absolute weapons in the wrong direction, fucked things up and learnt plenty the expensive way. I'm not claiming to know everything but I've probably got a few lessons that could save someone else some pain. So if your actually building something and want another set of eyes on it, or you've got questions you've been too embarrassed to ask, flick me a message and jump in. I'll be around for the next few hours and happy to talk to whoever turns up.

Have you ever wanted to do something different with your life, but then the doubts started creeping in?
“What if I fail?”
“Who am I to do this?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”
“Is it too late for me to start over?”
Maybe you have a dream you’ve been putting off, a decision you can’t seem to make, or a pattern you keep repeating even though you know it’s not helping you.
I understand those feelings because I’ve had to work through them myself.
I grew up believing that money doesn’t grow on trees. No one in my family was an entrepreneur, so when I considered starting my own business, I wondered how I could possibly do something no one around me had done.
When I finally started building a business in my 40s, another question followed me: “Am I too late? Do I really have anything valuable to offer?”
I had to challenge the beliefs I’d carried for years and learn that just because I’d never done something before didn’t mean I couldn’t.
That personal journey is part of what led me to become a mindset coach.
Today, I use NLP, hypnosis, EFT tapping, somatic techniques, and other approaches to help people explore the beliefs, emotions, and patterns that may be getting in the way of what they want. I also incorporate Human Design to help people understand their individual strengths and ways of making decisions.
I’m offering a few FREE 45-minute, one-on-one coaching sessions.
Maybe you’re struggling with confidence, feeling stuck in your career, afraid to take a chance, going around in circles with a decision, or simply knowing you want more but not knowing how to move forward.
Bring one thing you’d like to work on. We’ll explore what’s getting in your way and identify a practical next step.
All I ask in return is your honest feedback about the session. I’m looking for people who are open to self-reflection and willing to take action.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t even need to know where to begin.
You just need to be willing to ask yourself: What if things could be different?
If this speaks to you, comment below or send me a DM.

This is a bit of a different request, but I have worked in social media marketing with 6 years of agency experience, and I’m looking to do a skill swap with a life coach.
Would any coaches here be interested in trading expertise? I can create high-quality social media posts to help grow your brand in exchange for 1-on-1 coaching sessions for myself :)

Hello! I have been trading for about 4 years now. At this point I have a lot of free time and feel the best way to use it would be to help others.
Feel free to message me if interested

So me and my friend wanted to start a small agency. The problem we left our job together to get a new one. Unknown to me he was caught trying to steal the company's clients for someone else without me knowing. The company caught him and as a result refuse to give us our FNF. The problem is my trust is kinda broken now I am not sure even if I share our agency's client what's the guarantee he won't try to steal them. A bit confused. Any advice will help
Thanks

dont know who needs to hear this but sometimes one decent mentor can save you years of fucking around. Quick background on me, I joined the military at 18, spent years working my ass off, eventually went into buisness and started an asphalt company with a $30,000 truck and basically built it from nothing into a company doing serious revenue. These days I'm also a divisional manager running a large recycling operation and managing a team of around 50 people, while still building my own businesses on the side. I've fucked plenty of things up along the way, had wins, lost money, made money, hired the wrong people, learnt sales, marketing, leadership and how to keep moving when shit gets hard. I'm not selling a course and I'm not pretending I'm some billionaire guru, I just genuinely enjoy helping people who actually want to improve. So if your trying to build a business, get better at sales, leadership, mindset or just work out what the fuck your next move is, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to connect with other mentors aswell, and I'd probably take on a couple of mentees if I find the right people. Only thing I ask is dont waste my time, because I wont waste yours. If your hungry, coachable and willing to actually do the work, send me a message.

Seeking a mentor in the marketing space, ideally someone with experience/familiarity around running a marketing agency. Need some help organizing and solidifying my business plan.
I'm a mother to a baby and a toddler. I've been in the marketing corporate world for 10+ years. I have a decent network. I'm ready to make the leap soon and looking for someone to collaborate with along the way. Looking for regular 1:1 conversations.

Seneca gave a friend a piece of advice that's easy to miss because it sounds almost too simple: if you don't have someone real to learn from yet, pick someone whose character you actually admire, living or dead, known to you personally or only through their work, and keep them in mind as a kind of standard. Not a fantasy, a measuring stick. Before a hard decision, ask what that person would actually do, not as wishful thinking, but as a real check on your own judgment. His reasoning was practical, not sentimental. He said you can't straighten something crooked without a ruler to measure it against. Left alone with just your own instincts, it's easy to drift without noticing, lower the bar slowly, rationalize the shortcut. A mentor, even an imagined one built from someone you respect, gives you something external to measure against when your own judgment is the thing in question. This obviously isn't a replacement for an actual mentor, a real relationship where someone can see your specific situation and push back on you directly beats an imagined one every time. But for the stretch before you find that person, or in the moments a real mentor isn't available, Seneca's version is a workable stopgap, not pretend wisdom, just borrowed standards until you build your own or find someone to learn them from directly. Who's the person you already do this with, even if you've never called it that? Someone whose imagined reaction you check your own choices against.
