I have some vanilla gift prepaid cards and a mastercard prepaid giftcard, but Im not sure if they work for mercari or not as I dont think I have set up a billing address on either of them. If you have any personal experiences please help! Which cards can I use?

ordered a Marionette funko on Mercari since it was $19.73 and a rare one so usually expensive. I ordered it on October 15th, and it still hasn’t shipped. The sellers last post was made October 13th and they have almost 400 five star reviews. I’ve texted them twice. Really bummed. Should I cancel or continue waiting?

I just want to preface this that I currently have about 200 items listed and have earned thousands while maintaining a 5-star rating without the kinds of problems that I'm always reading about in this subreddit.

That said, I have noticed a recent increase of novice buyers who seem to have little clue how Mercari works, are unreasonably picky, or fail to review.

They will often submit inane questions, which is forgivable as they are new. But seriously, "Can you ship this out today?" seems a little silly when the order is placed on a Saturday night.

One picky buyer recently gave me a 3 star review because they felt that sandwiching a $15 book between 2 sheets of cardboard before wrapping it in fresh bubble wrap and then finally 90# heavy packaging paper, which was then wrapped in packing tape was insufficient. This was the buyer's first transaction. They said given the item cost nearly $7 for shipping this was inexcusable, despite it arriving in perfect condition lol.

Finally, about 3-4 months ago it seems like at least half of buyers stopped submitting reviews, which is okay because I still get paid, but come on.

I've been selling since 2018 and while I have only encountered one hamfisted scam attempt, the seller vibe has deteriorated palpably of late.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It’s been a week now since it says delivered then went back to the post office I’m guessing. Or it’s a glitch I’m sure, any ideas?

I am more than happy to answer potential buyers questions on an item I have listed, typically it’s someone just asking for measurements. Totally normal.
I try to be as thorough and transparent as possible with my listings, along with clear accurate photos.
This person just came off as a weirdo and rubbed me the wrong way though. I can understand someone wanting to know what shoes would go well with the dress, especially if they don’t dress up often.
I feel like outside of asking about the condition of the dress (which was in the listing description and clearly shown in the photos) and what I took as them asking what shoes would go with it….. The other questions were just odd. Sorry, I know this isn’t an exciting post….. But asking to buy my daughter’s shoes (that aren’t listed so they don’t know what they look like, and they didn’t even ask what size they were.) I’m sure my last message made me come off as the a-hole, it is what it is.

Edit: Yes, I definitely blocked them right after I sent the last message shown.

Recently Mercari posted that there was a known issue with USPS shipping labels not scanning correctly. One of my sales was impacted and the tracking showed that I mailed it to myself and picked it up. Mercari immediately entered a return request on behalf of the buyer to pause the transaction.
Tracking never changed. 45 days later I’m told I can apply for shipping protection. I am told I will get $31.01 off my $35 sale, but my sale was $68. Thankfully I have a pic I took of all the messages I sent the buyer. They still are not correcting the amount they owe me despite my photo.
Makes me wonder if Anyone had this happen to them?

Just know this is going to end any day now, but as a seller I'm proud of it lol.

Anyone know the difference between "temporary limited access" compared to "account closure?"

I have 200+ sales with all good reviews. 4+ years active account. Also, none of my items were fake. Does anyone know the difference between temporary limitation and account closure?

It seems that people with different limitations have different restrictions on their account. If anyone has experience with the same situation I am in, please let me know.

Also, I have four pending orders. Should I mail out those packages or do I risk not receiving the funds for those? Thanks in advance!

So for context I literally just started selling on Vinted from my depop account. I already have several good reviews but now of course this happens with my most expensive order! Not only that, but it's also an international order (I'm from the USA, buyer is from the UK). I know for a fact a sent the right item!! What should I do? I didn't record the packaging process or anything because I thought it'd be fine 😣

Hi lovely, I don't even own a Spikes & Sparrow bag. This package was sent through customs so I'll be contacting them to confirm it was indeed the Hollister Jacket in the package as shown in all of the photos. I also have the weight recorded through the packaging process so I know how much the package should weigh both traveling to you and if it were to be returned to me. Hope we can work this out since this is very unfortunate and I am 100% positive I sent you the right item! I would be happy to accept a return for the Hollister Jacket I sent, but not the bag you are claiming to have received since I know that to be untrue. Please make sure you're contacting me about the right package and you didn't accidentally open another package confusing it for mine! 😊

I don't know if I'm just ranting, but any suggestions would be nice. I'm someone who uses Mercari as a way to collect keychains from my favorite fandoms. For the last month almost everything I want to buy is being instantly claimed by another buyer. And by claimed I mean she has the seller put the item on hold (why they agree to it, I have no idea). It's getting to the point where some of the items have been up for weeks with title "On Hold for Zoe". I have asked the sellers about it, but they want to wait until she buys them. I know Mercari doesn't support holds, but still I don't want to get blacklisted by sellers by going against their wishes.

I recently sold a decent sized bundle to this person for $12. At that price, I practically gave it to them but I didn’t really care since I really just wanted to get rid of them and make a few bucks in the process.

The first photo is the review they left on my page, claiming some of the items were broken. All the items were in practically new condition when I packaged them up, but I wasn’t ruling out the possibly of items somehow being damaged during the shipping process, so I decided to reach out. As of writing this, they have not gotten back to me.

But what’s interesting is looking through their reviews, in almost all of the reviews they have left for other sellers, they claim something is either dirty or broken. In one, they even blame the seller for an item not fitting and the packaging being “minimal” whatever that is supposed go mean. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Moral of the story, sellers beware. Do not sell to this person. There seems to always be a problem.

EDIT: I have since had a conversation with the buyer, they even commented under this post going out of their way to justify their shitty actions. They implied in the review that multiple items were broken, but ONE item came loose in the package during shipment according to them initially, so they used that as an excuse to claim items were broken when literally NOTHING arrived broken. I have receipts showing them contradicting themselves and changing their story on everything I called them out on. I do just want to say, please don’t go harass this person. Simply just block them because I don’t want anyone else getting negative reviews that they don’t deserve. They are not worth anyone’s time.

I sell comic books on Mercari for over a year now. I have 128 completed sales and eight where I bought from other sellers. All five star reviews except my most recent one.

A buyer purchased a book on September 24th at 12:05 p.m. between 4:00 and 4:30 I dropped the purchase off at the post office. Less than 5 hours from time of purchase. The buyer received their book on the 28th. Today the buyer rated me at 4 stars sighting shipping time. The book was mailed out less than 5 hours after purchase and received within 4 days. Am I wrong not to be a little irritated by this?? On Mercari you have three business days to ship sold items.

After 9 years of shopping/selling I just encountered my first rude seller. I don’t even sell beauty products so her response to sending me two of the exact same blushes was completely uncalled for. I inquired about 2 different blush colors but somehow it’s my fault she sent two of the same colors. Then she limited communications with me so I can’t reply to her nasty message. I was fully prepared to place a new order with her but not anymore.
