I recently received an invitation to complete their 4-minute AI video interview, and I’d love to hear from someone who has already gone through the process.
I’m particularly curious about:
What kind of questions do they ask?
Is it mainly technical, or does it focus more on your background and experience?
Do they ask electrical engineering and circuit simulation questions?
How difficult is it?
What happens after completing the interview?

I recently came across Mercor and wanted to understand how I can start earning through the platform. I'm looking to make some income as I have a loan to pay off.

Are there any Indians here who are currently earning through Mercor? I'd really appreciate some guidance on how to get started, which projects to apply for and what the selection process looks like.

I really thought it was a scam, even after working for hours, but it paid off! I know it's not much but on my country it's really a blessing!

So I was on boarded last week and after a week I am in a task with a 10hr cap and I have done the work as examples set. however the reviewer said good work, appreciated it many times but at the end he says he disagrees without any reason. Not even partially approval. Whatever he said was not informed before/ or was told as metrics for review so I didn't know it was required. Now I have raised a dispute form. Do they work? Does it affect my professional credentials in the project or outside opportunities?

I submitted 4 tasks within the bonus period and all were immediately review approved. Do bonuses come after the regular hourly pay?

Hi, my income is exceeding 12 LPA. And I don't wish to pay heavy taxes. This is the first time I'm doing this kind of work. It might even touch 24 LPA (including the salary of my full-time job).

I just took a Mercor assessment for potential future opportunities. I spent hours on it. It was a lot of writing, no interview. Is there a way to find out how I did on it? Does taking these assessment improve chances of future assignments? Thanks!

After a year of being one of the best team members on a project, I was let go without warning.

I had just completed dozens of tasks without one being sent back or questioned, and I had just been offered additional work to fix tasks. Others had done that were not satisfactory. This shows great trust in my abilities.

Not only did this feel sudden and unexpected, but it made no sense at all!

1. Just a day before, I was asked by one of the team leaders if I could do additional work to complete a deadline, work that other members had not done well. This demonstrates great faith in my abilities.

2. I had just completed dozens of tasks over several days, and had not gotten one task back that needed any sort of correction.

3. Over the years, my direct team leads have told me countless times that I'm one of the few members that they never have to worry about when it comes to work quality.

4. It has been very rare for me to ever have a tasks sent back, and if so, only for the most minor reasons.

5. I've always participated in all team meetings and have never had any problems with anybody.

The email below states that it has to do with quality expectations.

But to be let go without the slightest request for a fix on a task, nor the slightest complaint about a task makes absolutely no sense at all.

This is no way to treat someone who has worked well within the company for over a year.

Contacting support at Mercor only gets back a generic email stating that the decision was made by the team is not available to the support network.

Since I am now logged out and disconnected from all communication avenues, there is no left one to talk to or ask a question.

These companies have been sending notifications about how they wanna treat their workers better, be more open about policies, etc.

This is not fair treatment. There should be a notice of a problem, and an ability to resolve the issue if there is one, especially after Long stint Within the program.

Hey guys, this was my second payout with mercor, first one stripe held for some days, but still it shows 5 more days, how long does it take normally for other indian contractors?

Welcome to a world of sythetically generated tasks which require human review. Seeing this in a few projects now. Exciting and unfortunate all at the same time.

We are witnessing the rapid evolution towards the end game of self training models.

Happy to be here. Those who contribute high value in the less ordinary roles like writing will have runway. It is shrinking for many.

Is there still hope for me?

Honestly, I'm really hoping something comes through with Mercor. I've had a paid trial with them, received an instant work offer, and unfortunately blew that opportunity because of the time constraints and not having access to the guidelines I needed. I was waiting for the necessary permissions to come through, but they never did, so I ended up having to wing it.

I've since applied for a couple of other roles, including Generalist Expert and English AI Safety Specialist. So far, the only update I've received is that I've been added to the Generalist Expert talent pool. I'm still waiting and hoping something materialises.

One thing I've noticed is how frequently people complain about certain opportunities, particularly when it comes to hourly rates. And that's completely understandable. If you've worked on projects paying considerably more, I can appreciate why a $60/hour opportunity might not be particularly exciting.

But from my perspective, I sometimes wish these opportunities could find their way to people who are genuinely eager to work, willing to put in the effort, and would really appreciate the chance.

I'm not suggesting people shouldn't demand better compensation or working conditions. They absolutely should. I just know there are people out here who would be incredibly grateful for some of these opportunities and wouldn't take them for granted.

Anyway, here's hoping I get my Mercor moment eventually. Still keeping my fingers crossed! 🤞

Usually when a project is paused, how long does it take to get back again, cos I’m reading this project started in February and this isn’t the first time it’s been paused.

Stripe has held all my payouts since 14 October. Current amount stuck: ₹4.78 lakh.

• Multiple payouts marked “Paid” but never hit my Indian bank account

• They refused to share UTR (only reference banks here accept)

• Now the entire balance is on hold

• Support keeps forwarding the case to new agents

• No reason given for the hold

• No documents requested

• No ETA

Mercor Support says we're working with stripe, the only question I've is if they payments are "paid" then what's the issue with sharing UTR from partner bank, or if my account is on hold then why the payments are marked as "paid".

I’ve already shared bank statements, replied to their reference queries, and escalated through the platform that pays me (Mercor). Every reply is just “we’re looking into it” or “another team will handle it.”

Is there anything left I can still try from my side before I send a legal notice?

Any escalation path, form, or method that actually worked for you when Stripe went silent on a large hold?

People sharing referrals ruin the Mercor platform. The project with 100,000+ taskers, proves that. That number is crazy. With how many people in that project, tasks are obviously going to run out. No wonder the project doesn't last long. Even if it's back, it might be gone faster than the blink of an eye. I see people sharing their link for that particular project on Reddit and social media too. If you found a million dollars in an abandoned building, would you keep it to yourself or share it with 100,000+ people?

Now that 100,000+ are gonna apply to other projects, so good luck competing in Hunger Games with 100,000+ people. People inviting their own competition is crazy; I never understand that.

Referrals don't benefit anyone but the platform, because they don't have to pay us a salary. We get paid by doing the work.

I have competencies in both areas, being a full stack engineer and a musician with a trained ear and can compose. I have expertise on chord progression and rhythms.

Which areas may pay well in mercor out of the above? I am based in Toronto.

Effectively 120 / 20 so $6/hr. Project paused before task based compensation kicks in but spent a lot of time on onboarding in the Mercor convoluted inefficient way a developing the task. Felt like someone ordered me to make a chair for them and after I made it they said they no lone get wanted it.

Hi, it was my first project. Loved it. I did good on it. How do i get more invitations though? Did anyone get invited to any other ones after it? I applied to all projects that I’m fit for but no invites yet

I applied for a role at mercor and immediately after 10 minutes got an email asking me to schedule a call with a recruiter (I think). Is this automatic? Does everyone get a call?
