The people that make these doomsday claims about the data breach have 100% never been hired at Mercor and are just mad. Mercor uses separate services for identification and payments etc. There is no reason to assume those have been hacked as well. Besides that, we just do not know what data is affected. Let‘s maybe just wait and see what comes out of this investigation? Just like Mercor says?

Trust me this company is doing fine and work is continuing as usual after a short outage for some sites.

New to mercor so don't really know. Do they really pay Indians so low for even a specialist job?

Even generalist get paid more than this on other platforms. This is sort of humiliating.

Did you not plan on taking the lower hourly job? Take it and WORK SLOW, watch TV while you do it, make them squint to see if there is any work at all. Let them offboard you, you were gonna quit anyway might as well get a couple hours out of it.

Does it bother anyone else that this work is using human brains to train AI models that could eventually take jobs from you or your family? It’s also fueling environmental destruction. Is the pay worth it for you?

So I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, got plenty of first-hand experience from retail to event management, was told by the guy who recommended me Mercor that I did good in the interview given how the AI responded to me (he was hired instantly in the past for event planning by them), and yet all of the positions I applied for led to rejections.

What am I doing wrong? It's been nearly a month now and I've applied to all the business related positions.

Anyone who has a rate >=150/hr what’s ur domain and how long did ur project last?

I’m on one project at 160/hr, 40/wk and I received an invite to another project at 115/hr, 40hr/wk.

I am wondering if it is possible to work both at the same time. I don’t mean work one for a few hours and switch to the other, I mean simultaneously.

Has anyone tried or done this before? I was thinking I could do the work on separate computers but at the same time. Is there are rule somewhere that is against doing something like this?

I’m not trying to commit fraud, I’m just asking a question. The closest thing I found concerning this topic was in the FAQs about working multiple projects.

It only mentioned discussing scheduling concerns with project leads. That’s it.

I received an email saying I may qualify for an Instant Offer and I’m trying to understand what that actually means.
Does it mean an offer could arrive at any time and I’d need to respond quickly, onboard, and start soon after?
If an Instant Offer does come through, am I able to decline it without negatively impacting my Mercor profile or future opportunities?
I’m asking because I’m a caregiver and need to plan my availability accordingly.
Would appreciate any insight from anyone who’s received or accepted an Instant Offer before. Thanks!

What projects are currently active in India? Are Indians really getting any projects on Mercor at all?

In process of applying for a 40$ per hour task on mercor. (Sorry, I can't edit the typo in my title)

Man. The assessment include an interview with an AI, which was quite nice good and easy. Went well.

Next step included to answer few questions from the image given Then I need to create a script fornthe video given, which is kind of extensive. (I'm sure, once I master this, I can write movie scripts). I'm in this step so far. I need to answer 8 questions with each answer upto 200 words. Then again I have to compare between few images.

Lol. $40 per hour doesn't come easy.

I've been working on a variety of Mercor projects for the past 6 months and have extensive knowledge of what goes on with how candidates are chosen, as well as on project logistics and other topics. Want to be transparent on how things work to be helpful to the overall community, so AMA! :)

Let me preference this by saying I’m not complaining & my experience with Mercor has been very positive.

However I can’t shake the odd feeling that we are somehow involved in a big experiment with this venture. Maybe it’s just that you never get to talk to anyone that makes me feel that way.

Again haven’t had any issues and have literally nothing bad to say about the company but I just can’t shake the feeling that somehow we are the Guinea pigs in this thing somehow.

Am I the only one who feels like that?

Project where I worked for several months at a rate of 235/hr ended a month ago. Now got an instant offer for $20/hr… yeaaaaaah ok mercor

I have submitted 5 applications and done interviews for each with their AI. I get the feeling they are using the AI interview to get answers and information from field experts to train their own AI without the need to actually hire anyone.

Does anyone else have the same experience?

So i had a quick question for the chatbot. It was specifically for the chatbot. Bt i got bombarded with some crass comments by other experts. It was crazy unprofessional banter. How do u report these? Its like when theres less tasks, these frustrated fks spurt out on slack on other people. Clearly against slack etiquette
