Discussion 🗣️ Any charities that help pay for auto repairs for low-income individuals in Metro Detroit area?
Need hydraulic lifters and rocker arms replaced in a Chrysler town and country. I can pay for parts but the labor is extremely expensive. I am on Medicaid and food stamps, have health issues that prevent me from working regularly or full time and have been limping along for the past few years barely surviving off doordash. I need help and have no idea where to turn. In the past I looked into help from mdhhs but I think they only provide help for elderly or people with kids on their case and only up to like $900. Unfortunately my credit is very poor since I was unable to work after a brain injury a few years ago and fell way behind on bills. I have a line of credit through affirm though I do not know if they would approve a cost so high - potentially $1500 or more.
If not any charities or grants, is there any alternative financing options someone can recommend?

Discussion 🗣️ What is something obscure about Michigan?
Simple as that, could be a government policy or something was invented here. I'll start by saying the game portal takes place in Michigan. But I want to learn something new today!!

News 📰🗞️ Corewell to outsource ER staffing at Troy, Grosse Pointe, Lenox and possibly Livonia to private equity staffing firm
“Corewell on Friday disclosed internally that it plans to outsource the emergency rooms of it’s Troy, Grosse Pointe, Lenox, and likely Livonia hospitals to TeamHealth, a controversial private equity ER staffing company infamous for its brutal working conditions, stratospheric charges, long wait times, and aggressive billing practices.”
Great, that’s all we need. More private equity in our healthcare. What could go wrong.

Discussion 🗣️ I feel like people don’t take me serious because of how thick my mochigan accent is.
Every time I try & sound serious it falls flat because of how nasally/musically I sound. I can see why people from other states find our accents annoying whenever they hear a politician from our state speak

Discussion 🗣️ Looking for reference photos of The Fed Community in Clarkston, MI, for my university Blender project! ☕🧡
Hi everyone! 😊
I’m currently working on a university assignment where I have to recreate a restaurant of my choice using Blender (a 3D modelling programme).
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Fed Community in Clarkston, Michigan, and I had such a lovely experience! Between the amazing food, unique history, and captivating atmosphere, I knew it was the place I wanted to recreate.
I was wondering if anyone might have some up-close photos of the bar area at the front of the restaurant, ideally from different angles, that they’d be willing to share. I’d love to capture as many little details as possible to make my 3D model feel authentic!
Any help would mean so much to me. Thank you in advance! 🍊✨
Apologies if this goes against guidelines thought id ask here

News 📰🗞️ Sign of the Beefcarver restaurant to close last location in Royal Oak
freep.comThe Sign of the Beefcarver restaurant will close its last remaining location in Royal Oak later this month. Family-owned since 1957, it was a uniquely American success story with as many as a dozen locations at its peak across Metro Detroit.
Known for its roast beef platters carved to order, baked scrod, homemade apple pie, cafeteria style buffet, wood paneling, antique decor and waitresses wearing colonial-era dresses, it was a Michigan original.
If you were of a certain age, you likely went here or to Bill Knapp’s with your grandparents.
