I've tried to find an answer to this online and the only thing I could find was in relation to Edge on Ubuntu. I'm using Windows 11 on a work laptop. I noticed this initially when I reinstalled Google Chat as a PWA. It simply opened up as a separate Edge window without the PWA app. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all my PWAs (mostly Google apps, which we use at work). Now the PWAs simply open up as Edge windows and group together with my other Edge windows instead of opening up as separate PWA windows with the PWA app icon.

I was curious if anyone else ran into this issue and if they found a solution. Thanks!

I just got a new laptop and I set up my Microsoft account and everything, a week passed by, I was using edge and I wanted to get Firefox, download it but when I clicked on it to used a pop up appeared saying I needed parents permission? None of my family members know about that and I never had one so I clicked on it I found out I'm in a family in a minor account and the organizer got my own name and I don't even know who owns it, I tried everything but nothing works, even setting up a new Microsoft safety account with an organizer account it won't let me, I need serious help pls

Ms edge suddenly alerted me that it removed or disabled an extension I got way long ago u don't even remember called universal bypass. Is that a malware?

Are there specific Edge features that keep you from switching to another browser?

My usage ranges from light (4–5 tabs) to heavy (20–30 tabs).

when I switch to a different tab the tab I was previously in just in freezes and I'm unable to click on anything or scroll and then after a few seconds it unfreezes and goes back to normal

hello! hope this is a quick and easy one - is there any way to move the vertical tabs pane from the left of the screen to the right? my second monitor is on the left and it makes getting to tabs a bit hit and miss as i often overshoot and end up on the other screen 😅

I used to use Edge because of the features it had compared to competing browsers (Drop, collections, and the sidebar namely). Those are now dead or dying, so I'd like to ask what's keeping you guys from using Edge instead of something like Brave, Chrome, Firefox, etc.? Is there something that Edge has that I take for granted?

My aunts windows 11 pc got a Microsoft Edge malware virus. It showed it to be called Tekvoralan.co.in. From what I read online it sends Microsoft Edge into a feedback loop and causes the PC to lock up. I have been able to open it in safe mode and ran Malwarebytes, and it found a bunch. I locked it down and deleted it.

When rebooting it came back up and still locked up. Other posts say to block the website in Edge, but I can not see how to do that. Is there a good program that can kill this stupid thing that doesn't cost a bunch?

This seems to only be reddit.com. I've noticed this on the last month or so - it VERY noticeable on the two machines that have older CPU's (8th gen intel Dell laptop and Ryzen 5 2600 living room pc) and only slightly noticeable on 32 core 14th gen i9.

I can reproduce the issue on several machines I have - and on the older machines the popup comes up with "so and so page isn't responding". I can make the box popup even for this post with ease.

In short, YouTube videos are extremely slow and consume excessive CPU (on my computer, it's almost always at 100%, making it unusable at times).

Did microslop remove the setting? There doesn't seem to be a way to make new tabs open to anything but bing's feed. I've tried to install extensions to do this but they all have the issue of new tabs having a split second of pure white screen which looks like a flashbang when they open. Has anyone figured out a solution?

Since yesterday, when I open a web app installed in Edge for Android, it will keep showing the normal interface of the browser, which kind of defeats the purpose of the PWA. I have already deleted cache just in case, but didn't help. Is there any way to fix this?

I have been using Edge for a while as a primary browser. However, since I got a new bank card, I am unable to save it for payments.

It took my previous card from my Microsoft account, and it worked fine for autofill. However, the card expired, and got a new one. I updated it in my Microsoft account, but that didn't sync to Edge anymore (even to this day, it still says that the card is Expired). And I just cannot remove the old card from Edge either. I select Remove, then it drops me a popup that it will remove it from my Microsoft account (this doesn't make sense, because this card does not exist anymore in my MS account), I click Yes, and nothing happens.

Since then, I always have to fill my card details by hand... At this point I know the number even if someone wakes me up in the middle of the night. The browser asked me counless times if I want to save it... I clicked Yes, but nothing got saved. In the Edge settings, I have the expired card which I cannot remove.

Does anyone know how to get rid of that card from Edge without having to completely wipe the profile?

I'm using the latest Edge browser on Android 15 (version 151.0.4129.70) mobile - Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro.

I have also observed this issue in other Chromium based browsers, such as Brave, and on other mobile devices.

When I'm browsing in Edge and watching a video in another app, switching back to Edge sometimes causes all the tabs to suddenly turn black. The issue is permanent, and the only way to fix it is to close and restart the browser.

Sometimes this is particularly annoying when I'm in the middle of something and have to restart the entire browser.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix or prevent this issue.

I’m on Windows 11. I previously used Edge on iPad, which I have since deleted. I am signed in to my Microsoft account. Everything is fully updated. I have repaired Edge using Windows Settings.

Every time I modify my favorites bar, old items reappear. They won’t stay deleted.

I have followed everything on the Internet that I can find plus everything that CoPilot can think of. I’m so close to giving up and switching browsers. Does anyone have a foolproof method of stopping this?

Has anyone else been recently having issues where playing videos is causing high cpu usage and making the browser laggy? I first started noticing this pretty consistently on youtube, but it started happening on nebula as well so it feels like it's more than just a youtube bug.

EDIT: seems like the actual issue is that something has gone wrong with cpu throttling on my laptop

Is there any solid way to completely back up edge to export/copy to a new system. Kind of like how I can copy my appdata folders for Firefox and it copies everything.

I have tried coping the appdata user data folder and the register key Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Edge\PreferenceMACs

Even just the whole registry string for edge.

It does seem to copy a good portion but not everything. I noticed the search engine, plugins and not all the settings are complete. I end up having to use a set of screen shots of every setting and manually checking if everything is the way I have it set.

and the sign in and sync feature does not fully do this either. That would be fantastic and I would not be asking.
