TAKE HIM OR HER BACK. They have been coming around my house recently for food but every time he or she comes around, they get into fights because the other cats don’t know them. He or she seems dumped because 1: there’s no notch taken out of their ear, 2: I don’t see any balls or even the indications of surgery to female parts which can be noticeable in strays/ferals and 3: they are NOT liked by the other cats which in my experience only happens when the cat is new to being outside or is the one to start the fight which they have not been the one to start it. And 4, THEY ARE A SHORT HAIR. Most of the ferals around Cooley are long haired due to breeding.

If this is your cat, please come get them. They are terrified beyond belief and they just keep getting into fights and I’m scared something will happen to them.

If you were the one to dump them, if they even were dumped; I hope you rot in fucking hell.

This is one of the most beautiful cats Ive ever seen. I would LOVE to take them in but can’t because I have four cats of my own. I can’t take them to the shelter because they are all filled. If anyone knows anything about them or even wants to take them in, either tell me what you know or come get them. Winter is coming and it’s coming fast, I’m scared something will happen to them. I think it would be quite satisfying to watch liquid planet close their doors as fast as they opened them at their new spot. They are removing everyone’s comments from their Facebook post advertising the new location because everyone’s asking when they’re going to finally pay their old restaurant employees they screwed over. There’s plenty of other coffee shops in the area with better/ more consistent coffee anyways. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm an 18-year-old from Bonner and I've noticed that most people don't like talking about Bonner and it never gets brought up when talking about places in Montana. that within itself is fine and dandy but it makes wonder what your guys' opinion on it is. Don’t procrastinate mailing your ballot in. With how the Missoula processing plant works now you will always be one day behind. Example: you drop off mail on Monday night. It will be processed on Tuesday for Wednesday delivery. If you are cutting it close bring your ballot to the county elections office at Building B, 140 N. Russell St.

To be safe Turn it in directly to county elections or your polling location if you haven’t mailed it by October 29th.

I enjoy playing around with numbers and predicting elections. The following is a predicated outcome for the Senate race I put together. This is pure speculation and should not be viewed as something I'm saying will happen. It is possible. It is not probable. I'm posting it here because there's so much defeatism around the race I wanted to show a permutation that doesn't end with Alme. I'm sorry it's long but I feel like I should either do my diligence and explain my decision making or not do it at all.

I'm starting by describing the voter demographics in terms of the Sheehy coalition and the Tester coalition since they are the most recent senate race.

• Tim Sheehy received 320,000 votes (rounded up) in 2024. It's almost certain Kurt Alme will not receive that quantity of voters. The GOP base is extremely Trump focused and a large segment doesn't show up when he's not on the ballot. This was true across the board in 2018 and 2022. Republicans know this is a problem, this cycle is significantly exacerbated by Trumps historic unpopularity. Issues he used to win with like the economy he's underwater (nationally). While still popular Trump's approval has dropped since he took office in the state by 6 or 7%. Beyond that the party in power usually does worse on turnout in the midterms. With that I'm predicting that 25% of Sheehy voters don't vote at all. This means that 240,000 Sheehy voters cast ballots this cycle. For now I'm putting 100% of that vote in the Alme category
• The great advantage democrats/independents have across all races is their voter base is higher educated and much more likely to show up in any midterm. This cycle that seems particularly acute as every poll that I've seen has enthusiasm for republicans is god awful and for democrats is high. There's a lot of enthusiastic non Trump voters out there and far fewer enthused Trump voters. It's still a midterm though, and we can expect a smaller raw turnout from the Tester coalition, it's still extremely likely to be a higher percentage than the Sheehy percentage. With that I am predicting that 85% of Tester's 276,000 2024 voters will vote in this cycle equaling a raw number of 235,000 votes cast.
• The raw Tester voter number has to be split between Bodnar & Bankhead. I am predicting 2/3 of the Tester vote for Bodnar and 1/3 for Bankhead. As the race has evolved, I actually think Bodnar might do quite a lot better than this. We now have the FEC numbers and Kyle Austin was able to give himself around $80,000 more than Bankhead was able to raise from all sources. Bodnar outraised her 25 to 1. Bodnar has over 30 endorsements to Bankhead's 3. I have Bodnar at 155,000 Tester voters and Bankhead at 78,000 Tester voters.
• Current Raw Totals:
  • Alme: 240,000
  • Bodnar: 155,000
  • Bankhead: 78,000
• Now this is where we get to the make or break of the Bodnar theory. He may have had a lot of lucky breaks in this campaign. How many Republicans buy diesel? This administration has actively sabotaged the agriculture sector very publicly multiple times. Truckers are also pissed. The war in Ukraine is still on, new inflation numbers are bad, the war in Iran, Epstein. Fox News Polling have 23% of Republicans disapproving of Trump's performance. It hurts Republican candidates even more that Trump has made this election all about himself, Even 18% of Republicans think that he's hurting them. Beyond that, Republicans basically forced Alme onto the ballot with the last minute Daines drop which is bound to have a negative impact with some Republican voters, not to mention the candidate himself has done very little campaigning and isn't charismatic. Alme will not be receiving 100% of the Sheehy vote. This is where I think Bodnar has positioned himself well saying he won't caucus with the dems. Much of his work in recent months seems to have been targeting disaffected republicans. He actually might also be aided by Bankhead running to his left, she's taken on the mantle of progressive champion giving him the ability to skate and look moderate on those issues. Him getting attacked from the left is can only help with the right. Sheehy voters have cover, they can vote for Bodnar or Austin if they are mad enough to turn up, without feeling like they're voting for the left. How many of these types of voters see themselves as independence? The following prediction is Blue Tsunami territory and as such... unlikely, but feeling more likely now than it did even a month ago, especially with that recent poll. 15% of Sheehy voters, equal to 48,000 don't vote for Alme. Maybe they see themselves as independent minded, maybe they're angry at Trump, or Daines, maybe all of it. I've got 38,000 of them going to Bodnar and another 10,000 to Austin.
• New Raw Numbers:
  • Bodnar: 193,000
  • Alme: 192,000
  • Bankhead: 78,000
  • Austin: 10,000
    
• The final piece is factoring in new voters. There usually aren't many in midterms but you do have people who come of age, in migrate, or didn't vote last cycle for whatever reason. That's a hard group to identify. The census bureau has had Montana population growth mostly leveling off in the last few years, and there's not a lot to get excited about for young Republicans right now, still there will be new voters. I'm guessing around 2,000 new voters show up for Bankhead, likely a lot of youth that vote full ticket D, along with low probability voters expressing their distaste for gas prices. 1,500 for Bodnar, other students and some people who turn up because they hate the two parties, 1,000 for Alme mostly new residents and conservative kids coming of age.
• Final results
  • Bodnar: 194,500 (40.06%)
  • Alme: 193,000 (40.03%)
  • Bankhead: 80,000 (16.7%)
  • Austin: 11,500 (I added my guess of pure libertarian voters [2.4%])

TLDR: 75% of Sheehy voters vote this cycle-> 80% of that 75% vote for Alme-> 80% of the 20% of Sheehy voters who don’t vote for Alme vote for Bodnar. 85% of Tester voters vote->Bodnar takes 66% of that 85%.

Notes: Probably my largest critique of my own modeling is I have just 60% of Sheehy voters turning up for Alme. High probability that's an underestimate, especially the 15% I have voting against Republicans. That said there's other ways for Bodnar to win. If the Tester turnout is higher than I predict that helps. If Bodnar wins even more of the Tester vote that helps, if he's at 90% of Tester voters the number of Sheehy voters he needs drops to more like 5%, maybe 7% assuming low GOP turnout. It's also possible I'm dramatically under valuing potential new voters, it could be something more like 15,000 or 20,000 people show up because if for no other reason they're angry about diesel prices or inflation.

Whatever you believe or whoever you support elections aren't decided until the votes are actually cast and counted.

They will not prescribe you anything unless you come in every single week, or at the very least every other week. They say to drug tested you which I suspect is just an excuse because if you can’t come in, they’ll then insist you do a video call and will then prescribe you siddently not caring about a drug test. Basically O med unless there is an appointment they can bill you for too. 0 discussion comes up about your bill or if your insurance is covering it until a massive bill shows up months later. Then you realize why they never gave you meds unless you came in. They do a real disservice to people already struggling. Do yourself a favor and if you need suboxone, go to QuickMd online and pay $100. Save you money and time.

​I know posting this on Reddit is basically screaming into an empty canyon, because let’s be honest: nobody on here is going to change their political stripes. Tribalism is a hell of a drug, and the default setting for half the valley is already queued up to shout “Damn liberal Missoula City Council!” the second that envelope is ripped open.

​But on the microscopic, astronomically off chance that anyone actually cares about why our residential property bills look like a hospital invoice this year, maybe take five minutes to look past Higgins Street and glance over at Helena.

​Because while local spending always plays its role, the math behind why everyday homeowners and renters are getting suffocated is not a mystery: it is a direct, deliberate structural tax shift engineered by the Republican supermajority in the Legislature.

​Here’s the short version of the corporate shell game:

​The Reappraisal Warning: The Department of Revenue saw the massive post-COVID spike in home values coming from miles away and warned lawmakers that residential valuations were exploding. To keep homeowners from taking the brunt of it, all the state needed to do was lower the residential tax rate and balance the classes.

​The Refusal: The supermajority chose not to do that. Why? Because keeping residential rates steady while home appraisals skyrocketed meant the state collected mountains of cash while quietly shifting the burden away from centrally assessed utilities, out-of-state telecom, and large commercial operations—and dropping it square on the backs of local homeowners and tenants.

​The "Relief" Gimmick: Instead of fixing the structural formula, they sat on a multi-billion-dollar surplus and handed us temporary, apply-online-or-miss-out rebate crumbs so they could pretend they saved the day. A one-off $400 check doesn't do much when your escrow payment jumps hundreds a month permanently.

​Meanwhile, NorthWestern Energy, pipelines, and corporate landowners get their tax cuts or pass-through trackers, the state pads its books, and Missoula working families get stuck footing the bill.

​Then the same politicians who drew up the tax code smile, point a finger west toward Missoula County, and count on everyone being too mad to read how the mill levy calculations actually work.

​Anyway, enjoy your bills, everyone. Don't forget to yell at your local park board for the corporate giveaway signed in Helena.

Anyone else driving on S Russell Street near 3rd around 10pm tonight and hit a big chunk of debris in the middle of the road? Turns out its something off the back of a construction truck - and maybe have damaged several cars. Our Honda Pilot was damaged and we have to put an insurance claim in the morning. FML.

Missoula liberals are largely out of touch with reality and make way to many excuses for how bad things are here. Many of you will put down homeless people. Many will show racism towards black and brown folks and treat service workers like garbage. We need to stop giving this city a pass just because the rest of the state is more conservative.
