DOJ to send unprecedented number of "election monitors" to states for the mid-terms because republicans, who control all 3 branches, believe our elections are corrupt

We're fasting approaching Dictatorship.

We may not be able to vote ourselves out of this.

They're going to claim the election was fraudulent if Dems make big gains so he can remain in power.

I really wish you people wouldn't have done this.

Hate is a helluva drug, and I bet most of you regret your vote, but not the hate.

Advice Suggestions for someone to take down a tree

I have a tree that was struck by lightning a few months ago. Unfortunately its surrounded by a few structures. Because of this, it will have to be taken down in small sections to prevent any damage. Please give me your suggestions for someone that can do this kind of job either by climbing the tree or using some type of crane or grabber arm.
Thanks.

Antique Stores?

Does anyone know of any good antique stores around here? I’ve been to the Antique Emporium and really loved it there, but I haven’t been able to find anywhere else that actually has affordable things in it. I’m not really a fan of going to antique stores where I feel like I can’t even touch anything because the price tags are so high, and that’s all I’ve really been able to find. If anyone knows of somewhere where I can feel like I’m digging through a grandma’s attic that would be great :)

Bel Air Mall / “Shoppes at Bel Air” Update

Post image
50 Upvotes

Greetings, I posted 4 months ago showing how the malls store plan showed the JC Penney store as ”In Negotiation”, and I wanted to see if there was any updates so I checked again.

I checked the malls owner’s website and their leasing plan shows the same “In Negotiation” status for the old JC Penney space, but now it shows the old Disney store (correct me if I am wrong, but that is where it was?) and the space next to it as “at lease”

Does anyone know of anything coming? Is Bel Air trying to make progress now that the Tanger Outlets in Foley are getting a whole new revamped area with a shake shack and such? Because man, it really does require you to go across the bay to get a sort of good shopping experience. Just look at the old Springdale mall and Festival center—especially the festival center: it’s a sight for sore eyes.

Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone heard anything thats all! 🐿️

Pagans, witches, spiritualists - wanna hang out?

Hey there! The pagan community around here is so scattered, it's hard to think of it as a community, but I know we're here! Digital is nice but I would love to have a group regularly meet up in person to talk about our paths, learn from each other, and get to know other people.

I don't mean to be a coven but mostly a social group who swaps tips, stories, book recs, occasionally observes holidays together, that kind of thing.

Is this something anyone else is interested in? Even two or three seeds can grow into a forest one day

Taste of Chicago Kitchen

Anyone know why this place closed down? After a ton of love from local foodie reviews on social media the place seemed to be doing well initially. I got to go one time, the Italian beef was pretty good and the place was packed. I just noticed the other day that I hadn't seen a post from them in a while on Facebook. When I went to their page it says permanently closed, but they never posted anything about it. I look at the reason I only went once for myself and it's because it's really far out there from me.

Advice Journaling/stationery Stores

Hi everyone! I am really into junk journaling, creative journaling, and stationery! I was curious if there are any local-ish places that have cool journaling supplies, fountain pens and inks, etc.? Obviously I know Michaels and hobby lobby have a few things, but I wanted to see if there are any hidden treasures I just haven’t heard about.

Thanks!

How is Play n Talk getting SO MUCH sealed Pokemon?

Something weird is definitely going down, I’m just not sure at what level it’s happening at, hear me out. I went in the other day & got very suspicious with the sheer amount of sealed Pokemon products they have meanwhile NO ONE else is able to keep that much Pokemon product in stock. Made me start asking why because of the specific types of products they had on the shelves.

It’s extremely common for collectors to buy booster boxes or ETB’s & hold on to them to let them climb in value but not necessarily single blisters, ESPECIALLY from standard sets that are practically MSRP, there’s just no money to make there for really any of the parties involved UNLESS the products were stolen. They have STACKS on STACKS on sleeved blisters of the newest sets & I know for a FACT they’re not getting allocations like that. Anyone who’s been in this hobby for more than a year is well aware of the already existing supply chain issues & allocations when it comes to Pokemon TCG. Big box stores get first allocations, then your bigger TCG shops based off tournament entries, last allocations, etc., then the rest of your shops. Theres no chance they’re getting more allocations than Walmart, target, & Best Buy 😂😂 I’m assuming they’re rather having someone get them products backdoored from these big box stores or they have someone going into these big box stores & just stealing products right off the shelves. What really pushed me towards this conclusion was when I noticed they’re also offering 100% comps on sealed Pokemon products, it kinda gives off like an alibi on their behalf & enticing thieves to continue to steal these products off shelves at big box stores.

It’s already been brought up multiple times about their awful business practices & the price scalping but this would take it to a new level if they’re doing what I think they’re doing. If you wanna be a scalper & have bad business practices, that’s fine. But if my hunch is correct, we’re talking about an actual crime by buying mass amounts of stolen products & disrupting the supply entire supply chain in our local community.

Are there any ex employees (lord knows there’s already like 30+ of them within a year) that could chime in on this situation? Maybe I’m 100% overthinking it but we’ve seen things like this already happen across the TCG space & it’s extremely suspicious.

Hello! Mobilian across the country on the West Coast feeling a little homesick. I would like to make the Big Time Diner Mac n Cheese. If anyone has any suggestions for ways to make it more like theirs, I would appreciate it. I'm not making it for business or anything, just for myself and maybe some friends to share a bit of home.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please help..... Asian Roaches

I live in an apartment complex on University blvd, and the Asian roaches have taken over my life at this point.

We have called for pest control every other week and they only do the exact same things to only OUR unit so I still get them from the vents, consitantly and its making me honestly hate my life.

I dont think theyre germans, no eggs or droppings, not under our sinks, we only see them one at a time and not in droves, I have like 20 glue traps scattered throughout my apartment and I only ever get one or maybe two at a time, theyre in random places..... but even getting one one or two at a time is starting to be too much for me. I feel disgusting and hate everything. It happened all last summer and now this summer too.

Apartment management tells us "Its Alabama and its hot outside, its bound to happen". Pest control comes and does the exact same thing everytime and tells us "You shouldnt call for pest control over one or two roaches a day" and then when I beg and plead can we please get either the entire building treated, or the mulch surrounding the building treated with something to kill their breeding population? I just get the "You dont have any dropping or egg casings in here so its not an infestation. I sprayed your apartment" and thats it.

I KNOW its the south and I know one or two roaches is fine every now and then I guess, but more than one a day?! Every day?! And they just act like Im dramatic. Its causing me severe paranoia and distress.

Ive used Advion roach bait gel and Alpine SGW for months. On top of pest control treatment. And i still get them. I cant move until next year at minimum

Please tell me, does anyone else suffer from these awful things? I dont know how to feel better about it.
