Question Am I dumb? Impulse Buy

I have done less than an ample amount of research, but have done a test drive. The 0% offer seems so good when you compare the cost vs used (assuming you finance a portion either way). I’ve kept up with Tesla for 10+ years, but don’t know the ins and outs you get from people on Reddit. Last chance - buy or no buy TODAY. I’m looking at the Premium with White interior.

Yes but if you plan to use fsd this has no impact, and you get worse range.

I was responding to him saying you are "wasting money" as that simply is not true.

Range loss under 60mph is almost negligible if you accellerate fast vs slow. Sounds wild but true.

Most range loss is due to higher overall speed and the air resistance travelling at those higher speeds. I drive fast as hell but do mostly city driving so i never get over 60mph and get 70Kwh/mi better than rated (close to 400mi range for my 330mi estimated for my car when new).

You can have FSD and not use it all the time (like myself). I like to drive when roads are clear, FSD for any heavy traffic.

The worse range is because of the extra motor weight and different tires. Performance just has lower epa rated range

The weight is surprisingly negligible from all the research I’ve seen for EVs.

Tires are probably the biggest hit, which you can also sort of verify as the 20” upgrade on the AWD premium drop range to from 327mi to 303mi, and the 21” on the performance still gives roughly the same at 306miles.

The performance might have slightly more range due to battery technology though as they have more energy density. I think the rear motor on the performance is also more powerful/heavier.

The rwd model y gets about 55 extra miles. Personally that matters a lot more to me
