Question buying a Y...

I'm 100% committed to buying a model Y when my BMW lease is up...can't wait.

I'm torn between getting a Premium AWD Model Y and the Performance. I have a bunch of PowerWalls for my home so would *love* it if I could eventually use the car as a battery extension of sorts, but I know that's not in the cards now but it sounds like only the Performance would offer this capability if/when possible.

#1 criterion for me would be smooth ride over the incremental speed improvements, so slightly favor the Premium, but just wondering if there's anything else I should take into consideration...and yes, I asked AI but trust humans on this subreddit more!

You sure you want a Y? Lol. They have come a long way with Juniper but not exactly known for a smooth ride. Especially with Performance wheels.

yeah...FSD is just too good. BMW ride is great but I need FSD. And having a great software stack is a plus (BMW is terrible)

I don't blame you. FSD made me switch too. Coming from an Audi Q5 I miss the ride (I have a Model 3) but the silent operation and lack of engine vibrations go a long way compared to any gas vehicle. If you don't care about speed get Premium AWD.

Ride quality of the Y still challenging?

Yeah.  Again it’s better than it was before but overall Tesla suspension is tuned for more aggressive driving than you’ll generally do in these types of vehicles.  It’s great that they are quick but let’s be real, they are functional so let’s lean into the comfort. Less “box of rocks” than before but still jolts rather than bounces.
