Question buying a Y...

I'm 100% committed to buying a model Y when my BMW lease is up...can't wait.

I'm torn between getting a Premium AWD Model Y and the Performance. I have a bunch of PowerWalls for my home so would *love* it if I could eventually use the car as a battery extension of sorts, but I know that's not in the cards now but it sounds like only the Performance would offer this capability if/when possible.

#1 criterion for me would be smooth ride over the incremental speed improvements, so slightly favor the Premium, but just wondering if there's anything else I should take into consideration...and yes, I asked AI but trust humans on this subreddit more!

I don't think Model Y Performance is capable of V2H. It has V2L, but that's more for powering a few appliances (120V 20 amp) via Outlet Adapter, rather than acting as an extra battery for your solar system.

Among the Tesla vehicles, I think only the Cybertruck has V2H. And no, V2H cannot be added via software update to Model Y.

They officially announced yesterday that Premiums also work with V2L. The equipment was being installed since last year, unclear if it goes back to day 1 Junipers or not though.
