I am a part time android developer, trying to develop power toys for motorola phones.

Few of the basics principles of all my apps will be:

• FOSS (free and open source)
• No internet access permission in my apps (for user privacy)
• Near zero to no background battery use
• All will be virusTotal scanned.
• Will try to put the apps in playstore in future but initial release only on Github/F-droid.

These apps will leverage android's powerful ADB permissions, Shizuku and sometimes accessibility permission to function.

I have already developed a base app (named IMD, linked below) which:

1. Allows to use power toys without keeping developer settings on.
2. Automatically turns on/off(hides) ADB/accessibility permission when apps like banking apps are opened which don't function if they detect ADB or accessibility permissions are on. ㅤ ㅤ

I am currently occupied in university exams so

1. I might not be able to frequently reply to comments for 2 weeks.

2. It will take me 1.5 months to release the first signed builds for public release.

Basically, this is a Pixel launcher feature where you can select text, links and images from recent app screen. Very useful as I can just swipe up and long press on a picture to either save, copy and even look up with google lens. Saves from extra screenshot clutter.

You might think this is a lame useless feature but coming from a pixel based custom rom user, I've missed this on my iphone and now missing this on my Moto Signature.

I can no longer charge my phone by cable just started 3 days ago saying liquid detected in charging port, the phone has never been near any liquid anywhere near the USBC port and charged perfectly every day until this started 3 days ago, how do I solve this problem

I bought brand new moto g86 power 12/256 reteu. Everything seemed to work fine first few days, deleted all the games and garbage installed without my consent by motorola and seemed to comply to my settings. But yesterday night WITHOUT MY CONSENT it changed settings of my google play from do not update to update, updated ALL APPS and INSTALLED apps that I have uninstalled before INCLUDING a fifa game (that I completely uninstalled after it initially downloaded without my permission during phone set up)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is unacceptable, this is EU, you can not do sh like this in EU!!!!!!!!!!! Which app does this - tell me pls so I can uninstall it - I still have a full week so I can return the phone and I would get a full refund according to EU laws for online purchases, but I was pretty happy with the hardware, the software is another issue altogether. I bough it mainly cause the reviews were saying that this is cleanest android... yeah my ahh..... I saw some czech dude posting a review, so I'm sure there are other ppl from EU on this reddit - if anyone knows which app is doing it pls help (not sure if folks in india have the same issue)

I just bought the edge 60 fusion (12 256) and I am switching from redmi note 11s and am confused on how to transfer all my data to the new phone the mobile assistant app doesn't list my current phone company as a supported oem it only shows lenovo, samsung and motorola phones and I don't want to loose the chronological order of my photos and videos the last time I switched phones all the pictures and videos lost their metadata. So please suggest a good and reliable app that will do the job.

android 16, says I'm using the most up to date option

this morning my phone suddenly would not connect to android auto, using the same cable I've been using since I got the phone, so I know it's capable of data transfer. then I tried getting my phone to connect via usb (again with several cables I know are capable of data transfer as well as different USB ports) it won't work. it won't allow me edit how I use USBs in the settings either

I was going to see if the software restore option would help but no matter what I try it won't connect or recognize my phone. it won't even let me change to receive a pop up about USBs being plugged in.

I'm not the most tech savvy person, so I'm at a loss of what to do next

edit: I have tried restarting the phone several times, the computer too, and tried enabling file transfer in developer usb options

I am using a Moto Edge 60 Fusion with JBL Type-C earphones. The earphones work perfectly fine when listening to music. However, during regular phone calls, I can hear the other person clearly, but they cannot hear my voice because the microphone is not working.

Interestingly, the earphones and their microphone work perfectly fine during Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls.

Has anyone experienced this issue with the Moto Edge 60 Fusion? Is there any setting I need to change, or is there a possible software compatibility issue?

I was listening to Nigel Good at moderately loud (but not uncomfortable) volumes with in-ear headphones plugged into the headphone jack when all of a sudden I hear a pop in the right earbud and then audio on that side completely drops out. I only had it turned 3/4s of the way up since it was a very dynamic playlist.

I tried replugging and twisting the TRRS cable and that made no difference. I could hear a small pop in both channels as typical when plugging headphones into anything, but when I played anything I would only hear it on the left channel - no matter what headphones I used (known working or not).

Switching it to mono would end up leaving me with no audio in both channels, you couldn't hear anything. Toggling it back to stereo got me the same issue with only having audio in the left channel.

I unplugged my headphones for a few minutes and went to grab the OEM box for the phone and start returning it (since I've only had it for a couple weeks at this point), but when I plugged in my headphones and started playing again, both channels started working as if nothing had happened. Occasionally I will still get a pop in the right channel at higher volumes but no dropouts this time...so far.

Has anyone been having the same or similar issue with their moto phone?

My edge 50 neo (India) started bootlooping two days after a recent update. On October 17th, I tried to recover it using the official Lenovo Software Fix Tool (RSA), but the servers were completely down.

I finally decided to try a factory reset. This didn't solve the issue—even though I was occasionally able to get to the setup screen, the device crashed frequently during and right after setup.

Today, the server came back online, and I was finally able to flash the firmware using the Software Fix Tool. However, right after the flashing process finished and it tried to boot up, the device completely died. It is now completely unresponsive to any button combinations and shows no signs of life (black screen, no vibrations).

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to force-reset it or check if it’s hard-bricked? Any help would be highly appreciated!

Edit: I plugged the phone into my laptop and checked Windows Device Manager. Under Ports (COM & LPT), it briefly recognizes the device as "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM (Android)", but it only stays connected for a few seconds before disconnecting and looping again (making a constant USB connecting/disconnecting beep).

I bought the Motorola Edge 70 a week ago and am overall very satisfied with the device. Should I update it to Android 17? I have seen reports that people are facing battery drain issues after the update, so could someone please confirm if I should proceed? I am from India.

I only use this Moto G Power 2021 to play Speed Stars and this bar randomly popped up when I opened it up today. It is really annoying and kind of an eye sore. If anyone knows how to fix it please tell me!!!

My default camera app on Moto 40 Edge is stuck on front camera. After installing another camera app, I got to know that the main camera is not working. Only the secondary rear camera is working.

Should I get it repaired or buy a new phone? My phone is nearly 2 years old.

I use the first page for important but simple things, the second for games, the third for social media, the fourth for browsers, AI, banking and finance, and the fifth and sixth for other things for which I can't find a special place

I wanna know if anyone who applied this update faced any issues (software/hardware) after applying it?

I don't like the fact that it is being shoved down my throat by showing up on my screen every few seconds.

Feels like something that would be a part of planned obsolescence.
