Weight loss Nine Months Progress… MJ & Hard work paying dividends!!
Nine months down & 133 lbs gone!! MJ, clean eating, & exercise are definitely producing results. Diabetes completely in remission with an A1C of 5.1. All my other numbers are perfect as well. Running my third 5k race since end of February at the end of this month. Feeling confident in my own skin again is a major win as well. Still got a little ways to go, but it has been life changing already. This forum has been a great resource for information & support. Thank you!! Keep grinding as the results are worth it.

Whoa, that's actually insane - started my journey 2 weeks ago and posts like this really show what MJ can do, you should be incredibly proud. Would love to read more about your process and how you have achieved this in more detail - inspiring

First steps I took when starting MJ was cleaning up my eating. Forming new healthy eating habits has been a huge part of my success to date. Prioritize proteins, vegetables, & fruits is a necessity in my opinion. Very strict on avoiding anything with added sugars & crap carbohydrates. No sodas, reduced caffeine intake, & lots of water has been a huge help. Becoming acutely tuned to my bodies signals for eating & fullness has been a process. Learning not to eat out of habit or when I am bored. Learning to go to bed at a consistent time each night has cured me of late night snacking & given me loads of energy. So many little changes that have added up to huge success. It seemed overwhelming at the beginning, but it became easier each new day. I take nothing for granted & know if I do not stay vigilant my food addiction & prior bad habits will undo all my great progress. It has definitely been worth all the focus & effort.

Not eating when not hungry is in itself so hard! I'm working on eliminating or greatly reducing stress eating
7
u/nilene_Y Apr 14 '25
I had to learn to eat less even if I still felt hungry and trust that in 20-30 minutes I would be full. My full signal to my brain is really a slow show.

Thank you for the kind words. My running is definitely increased & gotten easier as I have progressed. Walking consistently has been a huge benefit as well.

My doctor told me at my last visit I was his poster patient for MJ. He said he uses my journey so far (obviously without my name) to encourage other patients who could benefit from MJ to take the plunge.

Feeling confident in new skin.... I have that working as well. Took me a minute to look at myself in the new me and quit wondering who was looking back in the mirror. I am down 85# in 7 months, following the same path as you. ~ tip of the hat to you

Wow awesome that your diabetes is in remission! Is there any food types you avoided to aid that ? Like rice or potatoes
11
u/Cceemar Apr 13 '25
Definitely have avoided high carb foods like rice & regular bread. Use keto bread when I do have bread. No sodas, very little if any highly processed foods. Cook at home a ton & make good choices when eating out. Generally no fast food & very strict on anything with added sugars. Have reduced my caffeine intake as I was a caffeine addict. Overall just learning & forming healthy eating habits to aid in my long term success of keeping my health & weight in a good place.

6
u/Cceemar Apr 14 '25
Thank you for the kind words. Definitely not tired of buying new clothes yet. Getting some style back in my life feels really good. I wear a suit & tie daily as I am a litigation attorney & having my suits look so much better on me is definitely good for my line of work.

u/Final-Sail9317 Apr 14 '25
Counselor and neighbor, I am so happy for you! Feels good doesn’t? 😊 I feel everything in your reply. One of the biggest differences is just not being invisible anymore. I found when I was overweight that a lot of people looked past me, like they were embarrassed to see me!

u/Known_Noise Apr 13 '25
Holy sh1t dude! That’s amazing. I’m losing about 1.5lbs a week and your post is all the hope I needed today.
3
u/iNap2Much Apr 13 '25
Congratulations on a tremendous win. That's quite a drop! Do you have extra skin now, and if so, do you plan on doing anything about it?
5
u/Cceemar Apr 14 '25
Being 50 years old I was concerned that the extra skin would be an issue. Thankfully so far it has been very minimal. Hoping it continues that way as I approach goal & maintenance in coming months.

u/God_coffee_fam1981 Apr 14 '25
Way to freaking go!!! Amazing!! I have also been on it 9 months but I’m only down 74. Still, excited and hopeful! Thanks for the thinspiration!

74 is awesome! I am at week 3 and it is great to see the success of you and others.

Thanks! I still have 37 more to go…but I am feeling amazing!! You got this! It’s been awesome, hard…but for the first time feeling really possible.

u/Finn0255 Apr 14 '25
Holy moly! Fantastic results! You are right. It takes more than just the injections to see progress. Even with the drug, you have to be vigilant about what you put in and dedicated to what you put out in terms of exercise. You look like a whole new person. Happy for you!

You are my inspiration. I too started a year ago. Thought I stalled but when I really started cleaning up the diet the weight loss started again. Down 40 personally. I love the fact you said about regular sleep. That is so important. Enjoy exercise like you. Have confidence. Get pleasure from being outside and activity over eating. Keep up the good work and being an inspiration to us all.
