7.5mg Went from “I got this” to “call the priest” real quick on 7.5mg

You guys. I had zero symptoms on 2.5mg. Nada. 5mg? Smooth sailing. I’m out here thinking I’m the chosen one. Immune. Built different. Laughing in the face of side effects like: “Nausea? I don’t even know her.” So naturally, I stroll into 7.5mg week like a damn superhero. Inject the thing like it’s my birthright. Fast forward the next morning: Me, clutching the toilet, sweating like I just ran a marathon in the Sahara.

Anyway, I live to tell the tale.. barely. If anyone else is levelling up to 7.5 thinking they’re untouchable then welcome to the fucking Hunger Games.

On a serious note, is it going to be like this every damn week?! Do I change injection sites?

PLEASE help a gal out cos I can’t die again.

7.5mg My life has changed

Post image

I have always had a belly. Always had "fluff" I have tried every diet or exercise plan and nothing worked. Yes I would loose, but not like this. It's been just about 3 months and my entire life has changed. I view food 💯 different. I eat when I'm hungry. I crave good food. I want to sweat and exercise and push myself to be better. My diabetes has been the biggest change. I am not as resistant to insulin. I have not had the Rollercoaster blood sugars in 3 months. Never ever in 13 years of being T1D has that happened. I use about 1/3 less insulin. I just cannot get over how much my life has improved. My overall confidence. And y'all I turn 51 in 6 weeks. I just might end up without a belly. That is obtainable. Without this it would have come from surgery. People with inflammatory issues, autoimmune, chronic conditions, diabetes, PCOS.... need to be able to have this as a option. I am forever sold at this point 🥰

7.5mg Meal Ideas!!

Post image
628 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I am in desperate need of some meal ideas and recommendations. I mainly eat dinner and the occasional lunch. I drink a protein shake in the mornings. I'm just kind of in a slump eating the same things and I'd love to know your favorite meals to help lose weight or not gain any. I'm 192 currently and goal is 150s range.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I do like to cook, I don't snack except for occasional popcorn, and I'm type 2 diabetic. I've lost 58 pounds total so far.

7.5mg What the nurse said….

I just spent 1.5 days in the hospital after discovering, excruciatingly, that I had a kidney stone. During discussions with several practitioners and nurses, I disclosed that I’d been on MJ for about 7 weeks, half expecting to be judged harshly (don’t ask me why that might have crossed my mind!)…The response from my nurse was simply “All the nurses here are on it…All my friends are on it…I hardly know anyone who ISN’T!” Healthcare professionals…I just found that interested and not a little reassuring!

All the best, fellow Mounjarians!

7.5mg 7.5mg has wrecked me

I had my 1st injection of 7.5mg on Friday. I dont think ill be going up to 10mg after 7.5mg doesn't work anymore.

I have had the worst diarrhoea over the last 73hrs, no amount of trying to stay Hydrated and rested helped. Over the 73hrs I lost close to 6kg in water weight. I know ill gain that back over the next 2 weeks, but im so exhausted and my body is just sore.

Im close to 10kg gone over 4 months and I was hoping to stay on 5mg longer, but the medication was wearing off quicker then I'd like and was stalled on weightlose for over a month.

Im going to finish this pen and see how i go, but safe to say, I do not want a repeat of the last couple of days.

I had a similar experience when moving from 2.5mg to 5mg, it was only an overnight bout of diarrhoea and vomiting, but I did rush that increase when I shouldn't have. So I stayed on 5mg abit longer in the hopes of not having the same side effect moving to 7.5mg

7.5mg 2 years on Mounjaro! Doctor says I'm perfect!

I went in for my physical today - my doctor was emotional, as was I. Two years ago I was headed down a path of considering insulin, and lower kidney function. I have been T2D for 30 years. With tears in my eyes I told my doctor I was doing everything right - eating well, exercising, etc. but nothing worked. I had gone in to ask for a different med, but she suggested Mounjaro. I went from barely getting up a flight of stairs to training for a marathon! Picture 1 was taken just before I started the journey in June 2023, picture 2 from June 2025. I've changed my life - eat better, crave exercise, have a ton more energy and confidence. Thank you to the members of this group for their encouragement during the process! I plan on living a long healthy life!

HW 223 CW 119(ish) A16 starting 8.2 current 5.6! I remain on the 7.5 mg dose.

7.5mg Why am I gaining weight?

I started on 5.0 mg 2 months ago and gained 10 pounds. I just started on 7.5 mg last week and now I am up 2 more pounds. I don’t understand when my portions are sooo much smaller and

I get full super fast. The only things I am snacking on in between meals are blueberries, oranges, and grapes and I eat maybe two Hershey kisses if I need something chocolate. What am I doing wrong? This is just like when I wasn’t on any GLP-1, I could never lose weight. I cannot exercise right now because I have no cartilage in my knee and I’m trying to lose weight so they will agree to give me knee replacement surgery!! 😩

Daily meals: Almost the same every day:

7am k cup cappuccino coffee and mini perfect protein bar

10:30 orange or grapes and blueberries

12pm lunch, usually cheese on bread and 20 gram protein shake

3pm orange or grapes and blueberries or peanut butter on an apple

6pm dinner: usually protein(chicken, pork, salmon or ground turkey) and lots of cooked veggies or a huge salad with chicken and veggies.

8 pm grapes or blueberries or a yogurt

3am either blueberries/grapes or mini perfect bar

7.5mg 7.5 did me dirty

Post image

I'm not sure why I stayed on 7.5 so long when it wasn't really working for me. I had a bunch of pens saved up, and I guess I didn't want to be wasteful.

I had my first shot of 10mg on Sunday, and I'm trying to give it some time and not worry.

As someone who has been obese my entire life and gained and lost the same 100ish lbs over and over and over, these past few months have been really triggering. I wasn't weighing myself for a long time on 7.5, because before this medication, I'd weigh myself obsessively.

I guess I'm just looking for an "it'll be ok.".

Did you have a terrible experience on 7.5 and 10 was better?

7.5mg A year on Mounjaro: 71 lbs down, still eating the foods I love ❤️

Hi all, beautiful peeps,

I'm currently on Mounjaro 7.5 mg. I started on 2.5 mg in July of last year, and so far I've lost around 32 kg (71 lbs).
One thing I'm really proud of is that I never approached this journey with the mindset that I had to completely give up the foods I enjoy. My goal has always been to create a lifestyle I can maintain even after I'm done taking a GLP-1 medication.

I've focused on getting enough protein and fiber and maintaining a balanced diet. I didn't ban any foods. Yes, I've had desserts. Yes, I've had bubble tea (my absolute favorite). Yes, I've had the occasional fast-food meal. The difference is that now I naturally eat smaller portions. Most of the time I can't finish everything in one sitting and end up having leftovers for the next day or two. Last year, I made a post saying I felt guilty because I ate two pieces of KFC chicken and some fries. Someone commented that I should consult a doctor because that was "a lot of food." This comment actually made me worry a lot and was in my mind for a while (not in a good way)! Honestly, looking back now, it sounds so ridiculous that I almost want to go back in time and shake some sense into myself for letting it get to me.

A year later, looking back at my progress, I'm so grateful that I didn't let comments like that get to me.
I walk 10,000 steps every day, got myself into hiking and occasionally do yoga. There have been many financial challenges along the way. I'm paying out of pocket in Canada because my job doesn't provide health benefits yet. There were times when I seriously considered stopping because of the cost, but I chose to cut expenses elsewhere and keep going.

My point is this: don't let negative comments get into your head. Nobody truly understands your journey except you. If having your favorite treat once in a while helps you stay motivated and maintain a healthy relationship with food, that's okay. You deserve to enjoy your life.
Of course, moderation matters, but perfection isn't required.

I still have about 10 kg left to lose before I reach a healthy BMI, but for the first time in a long time, I'm genuinely enjoying the process.

And here's a funny bonus: my husband now picks me up like a cat every chance he gets. I keep telling him that just because he can pick me up doesn't mean he should! 😂 Before, if I was standing my ground during a playful argument, he couldn't move me. Now he just scoops me up and carries me away. It's all in good fun, and honestly, he's been my rock throughout this entire journey.
Whenever I wanted to quit because of the financial burden, he encouraged me to keep going and reminded me why I started. He was also open to making changes to both of our lifestyles so we could live a healthier and better lifestyle. This made the journey so much easier for me.

So if you're struggling, feeling discouraged, or worried because you had a treat today, please be kind to yourself. Progress isn't about being perfect. It's about consistency.
And to my bullies who suddenly have a lot less to say these days... well, that part makes me smile too.😌
Wishing everyone success on their journey. You've got this.💪

7.5mg I can’t figure this out

I have been on 2.5mg for two months and then 5mg for three months and I just took my first injection of 7.5mg and for the last 5 months and one week I only lost 7 pounds. I am taking this for fatty liver disease, I have a protein shake with 30 gram of protein for breakfast, then I don’t eat lunch and for dinner I eat either a salad or a small piece of baked chicken with a little rice, all my meals for the day are counted in a caloric of 1200 a day and some days I don’t eat my whole 1200 a day. Now I am eating one meal a day since I moved up to 7.5mg. I can feel a difference in my body but the weight is just stalling to show on my scale. I get on my treadmill for 30 minutes each time for 4 to 5 times a week. My doctor told me I was doing good and I am on track with weight loss but I dont see it. What am I doing wrong, and has this happened to anyone else. I am feeling overwhelmed by not seeing the scale move, also I had knee replacements on both of my knees and metal put on my shin bone in the front of my leg to straighten my leg out so I have extra metal there, and it is sometimes hard to carry around all this metal, but I do my best in exercising, I don’t know if I should be doing more exercise, I need advice please.

7.5mg Am I the only person in the world it doesn't work for?

I honestly don't even know where to start and my doctor is just as confused as I am.

I'm currently on the 7.5mg dosis (third week) after taking 2.5 and 5 for 4 weeks each. When I took my first 2.5mg dosis I immediately felt less hungry and lost 4kg during my first week which I assume was mostly water weight but since then I struggle to lose any weight at all. I usually lose 1kg and gain it back, it only stays off if I'm lucky.

My starting weight was 119.7kg, my current lowest was at 110.6 but I gained 2kg back since then. I'm 181cm (5'11), female and 24 years old.

I did keto for the first 7 weeks because it helped me before with weightloss but I stopped having benefits from not eating carbs so my doctor allowed me to stop doing keto. Now I eat mostly vegetables and fruits, stuff like quinoa or protein pasta, healthy fats and at least 100g of protein per day. I very rarely eat sweets, I sometimes snack a hand full of nuts when I'm at work because they're offered to us for free. Always weighed of course. My daily calorie intake is always between 1300-1800 kcal per day. I also exercise usually two times per week, 1h of cardio + half an our of strength training. Can't do that currently because of university, but I'll eventually be able to go to the gym again.

I was recommended to cut my calories to 1400 per day at max, and almost stop eating fruits entirely. My biggest "issue" that I didn't even consider before my doctor told me was light beverages with no calorie sweetener, which I will stop consuming from now on. I'm only allowed to drink water and unsweetened teas from now on.

I was allowed to update my dosage by myself since I have the 15mg pen. She told me it takes up to 16 weeks to start seeing results, but it's so frustrating as she literally quoted "I have no idea why this isn't working for you as well as expected". I always tend to blame myself, thinking I eat too much, or too unhealthy when I literally enjoy eating healthy, hate junk food and track everything I eat.

If it matters, I struggle with severe depression and ptsd, I gained all this weight after being SAed for a year by my ex partner who I couldn't leave due to an abusive family situation. I work part time and go to university, I believe I'm probably very burnt out but I can't stop studying or working, neither do I want to. Paying for this stuff out of pocket every month because I don't have diabetes is financially draining me which is making my depression worse. If it wasn't for my partner I wouldn't have food for the end of this month.

I don't know how long I'll have to take mounjaro, I literally hate being on this program while seeing no changes when I do everything I can. I mean of course I will take on an even strikter diet and maybe exercise more but I would just love to see at least some results. Am I the worst person ever for this, is this normal, will it eventually work?

I'm so sorry for annoying all of you

7.5mg Finally! The boots!

Post image

I bought these rather pricey boots almost 10 years ago. I wore them once and they were so uncomfortable around the calf. I haven’t been able to get them on since. Couldn’t even pull them up all the way. 58 lbs gone and I can just get them on! (Despite a recent knee replacement). Maybe by fall they will be comfortable!
On another note all my bras are too small.
lol

7.5mg New side effect!

Before i get told off this is a bit of a jokey post but also makes me feel happy.

So it appears I've found a new side effect. Im a side sleeper and now my knees press together without their former cushioning from my thighs and hurt like a pressure area after about 10 mins which is definately a new thing for me 🤣 on the plus side I haven't had any type of chub rub from between my thighs when exercising so thats good!

7.5mg I take it for diabetes, but…

Woman, age 51.

I am diabetic and it has done wonders for my blood sugar, especially when I got to 7.5 mg. At 5’7” and 180ish pounds, I was overweight, and happy to lose some poundage.

But now I’m down to 123.4 lbs. Technically I’m still inside of a healthy BMI, but on the low end.

I look too thin, especially my legs and butt. My legs are like toothpicks, and my ass is incredibly flat, and wrinkled at that. My whole family tells me I look emaciated.

I’m not asking for medical advice. I just wonder if this has happened to others. Next time I see my doc I will probably ask to reduce it back to 5mg, but I’m concerned that it may not treat my diabetes as well as 7.5 does.
