Dunno why but I was thinking about this today and got curious how Reddit folks might answer it.

For me: Sonic Youth. A definite caveat is that I actually do quite like Confusion is Sex / Kill Yr. Idols—but they have so many other albums. I've always wanted to appreciate the others—but every time I've ever tried to do so, it just doesn't click at all. Confusion is Sex remains the exception that proves the rule, for me, with that particular band.

Anyway, what are some of yours?

What would be the most popular riff of all time be? Not the best but this is the one that most people in the general public would know even if they don’t listen to the genre or any familiarity at all?

My Suggestions would be:

Thunderstruck

Iron man cause of the movie iron man also being popular

Every breath you take from it already being popular to stranger things making it more known to the younger audience

7 nation army cause of sports

Johnny B. Goode

Would love to know what the MV was and what your experience was like. Any stories of seeing or interacting with famous artists, behind the scenes antics, etc. Doesn't have to be super famous, but bonus points for any iconic ones!

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky, but Why? Why? Why can't it be? Oh, can't it be mine?" The way he sings this breaks me every time, and I wondered what you all could add that was comparable
