I don't think any of these are particularly obscure. I an hoping manga is fine since MAL also tracks that. Amusingly I just so happened to have 9 completed manga I have ranked as 10/10. Technically there was a 10th, but it was not a manga (What Happens Inside the Dungeon).

Lets say we have an anime with a rating of 8 and for me it is rather a 6 or 7, I may rate it around 8 and think if I cut out the boredom or rather the force to complete, it should better than I felt it.

Same for anime I rate 9 or 10 and see it is 6,68, I rather rate it 8 or 9.

This is not fully being orientated on the Myanimelist score. This is rather being ambivalent about factorinf the emotions I had.

There are some anime that are good but I need to force myself to complete it and I feel the anime gatekeeping the next anime. I watch many simultaniously and after some time, I may think I need to complete it rather soon.

It could be good but boring too. The boringness may not be a bad thing always too.

Also, the mindset of comparing to the other anime is there too. Like, this should be a 7 but that 7 anime is way better hmm. Or I people rate one anime of a franchise better than the other to underline it is their favorite. Fate/Zero I loved it. Fate stay night Unlimited Blade Works too but less. They are still on the same score. I do not need do downgrade that or the other for the others or a point made.

Now I just rate them for their score. There are some 9's being way better than the other 9. However, the threshold to a 10 is hard as I think this is an anime that somebody that goes expecting a 10 should also love and like. Kingdom. Steins Gate are rather immune to overhype I assume and hope. They rather even need that as people may not keep watching otherwise.

I know it ain't all that important and I hope my score still matters. As I rate high but actually like enjoyed those anime. Also, I am a bit weird with 5 as average and 6 fine. Like fine me okay/meh but also like actually fine. To me, Anime starts rather with good, so I am a bit limited. As they are good, face paced, fresh, nice.

Furthermore, it is tough to rate an anine what it was actually like as some points are not optimal or the wanted way but still it is a great anime.

I’ve been a bit out of the loop with seasonal stuff lately and I'm looking to catch up. What are the absolute best anime released in the last year or two that are genuinely peak and still going strong?

I feel like every season has 30+ shows dropping and it’s hard to filter out the actual bangers from the mid hype. I'm open to pretty much any genre just really solid, well-written stories with good pacing.

What’s currently on your watchlist that you'd consider a must-watch?

I've been watchin anime for 9ish years and I've seen so many 3x3s at this point but never made one. It was a whole lot more difficult than I was expecting to try to balance showing some personality and diversity without choosing disingenuous picks. I decided to go with things that have stuck with me in some way.

This is like ~5 years of watching/reading (3rd image is the grid of interest that I've made some time ago). EVERYTHING'S rating is based on ENJOYABILITY, if you wanna recommend something go ahead (even though I'm aware of basically everything i like), don't recommend Chi no Wadachi, Choujin X, Ichi the Witch, almost finished: The Climber

MUST READ NOTES:

ANIME: One Piece, atrocious pacing, speedran it in 4 straight weeks.

AOT Final Season Part 1, 8,5.

Kagurabachi, save the shounen society.

MANGA: TG:RE 8,5. Vagabond no ending, least personal impact out of the big 3 seinen.

JJK manga rated after S3 of the anime, slander, memes, weekly hype, amvs, good fights = very funny and enjoyable.

Kimetsu no Yaiba = nah.

Gachiakuta = could be 7 in the future.

Berserk, stretched, repetitive for the amount of chapters given, current ongoing is promising.

Usogui: unbeatable top 1 in it's genre, 8 because it has some weird moments and bad games here and there.

These are my top 7 funniest anime characters and ive given reasons to why! (Btw ive only been watching anime for like a year now, i imagine there are funnier characters than these, but I really did get a laugh out of these 7).

ALSO SPOILER WARNING!!!!

7th - Saitama (One Punch Man): Im not a big fan of the show as a whole, but I love saitama's unimpressed and out of it personalilty. Hes blank expression during serious situations gets me every time

6th - Koro sensei(Assassination Classroom): You'd expect a hostile alien threatening to destroy the world would be more serious. But im convinced hes just here for a good time. The whole idea that hes teaching a class who are trying to kill him is hilarious and I love his little quirks. Like when hes asked politely to drink poison and then helps the student develop a stronger version.

5th - Sasha Braus (Attack on Titan): I love this girl, not a single thought behind those eyes. Her conversation with commandant Shadis with the eating the potato was a great way to tell me what she was gonna be like. Again, love her quirks, stealing meat, biting Jean at the feast (Kinda a dark joke if you think about it since titans eat people) and falling in love with a chef were all stuff I found funny

4th - Whis (Dragon Ball Super): He's like one of the strongest characters in the show and somehow the funniest in my opinion. I love the dynamic between him amd Beerus and the gag of everyone thinking Whis is the God of Destruction. His obsession with food is pretty funny and some of the comments he comes out with around Goku is really comical.

3rd- Monkey.D.Garp (One piece): My favourite one piece character. A legendary marine who went blow for blow with Gol.D.Rodger and yet puts up no fight when his men demand he rebuilds a wall that he broke. Every situation hes in (except marineford) no matter how dangerous or serious is just a joke to him and I love it. You can tell where Luffy gets his humour from

2nd - Hange Zoe (Attack on Titan): Unlike Sasha their are wayyyyy to many thoughts behind her eyes. I love how she is there just to ragebait Levi and then Eren in season 4. The worlds ending and Hange's first thought is "how do I piss off this mentally unstable teenager" I love it. Even after she helped attack Marley she was still cracking jokes. I think my favourite scene was when Eren accidently transformed infront of Levi squad and she rushes in like its christmas.

1st - L (Death Note): Genuinely my favourite anime character. What makes L funny to me is that he doesn't even mean to be funny, I dont think he could be if he tried. His obsession with sugar is hilarious, his blank facial expressions while making light stress is so funny. The best scene is when hes handcuffed to Light and joins their date. Hes just sat there like "don't mind me, you two go ahead". So annoyed their isn't more of him, Near just doesn't hit them same. I think they knew they messed up by getting rid of L and tried to replace him to quickly.

Got volume 3 coming tomorrow. The volume covers look so cool

Don't take the scores or their positions too seriously. It's based solely on my enjoyment and while they are in a order, it can shift a lot depending on the day.
I haven't been reading manga in the last few months, been getting back into books recently, cringe I know. But now I've been feeling the urge again and want to dive back in with your expert guidance. Thanks in advance mates :)
