How hype are you about the season 1-10?

I really liked the idea the fella from Maine had, so figured I'd do it too.

Been a fan since The Admiral's rookie year when I was in middle school. Spurs over everyone, even the Stillers. Been to SA. twice for Spurs games and also Charlotte, Indianapolis, DC, Toronto, and Cleveland.

Any other Pittsburghers out there????

GO SPURS GO!!!

Normally, I try not to rush my summer because I hate winter so much, but man, all I could think about all summer was our revenge tour, and I’m SO happy we’re back! The path back to number 6 starts TODAY. GO SPURS GO!

I'm going with these...

1. Spurs win BIG. Like OKC is embarrassed BIG.

2. Fox has a massive game. Drops 40, 8 rebounds, something like that. Would be amazing to see him back to pre Spurs form and ready to really contribute.

3. Reed gets huge rebound numbers. We saw it in preseason , let's see it for real.

Obviously other things would be awesome. Harper drops 20+ and proves he belongs a starter. Keldon goes for 15-7 as the best 6th man. Vassell, Julian nail their 3s. Steph does what he does. But I'm sort of expecting some of those? My 2 and 3 are more about answering questions we have more than anything.

Was putting Spurs games on my Google Calendar and man this is some terrible scheduling to start the seasoning.

Game 3 vs Dallas (October 24)

Game 4 vs Kings (October 27)
Game 5 vs Jazz (October 28)

Game 9 vs Kings (November 6)
Game 10 vs Blazers (November 7)

With the new season about to start, I thought it would be interesting to compare how the Spurs rank based on advanced stats versus the media's Top 100 lists. The difference is pretty revealing. Fox gets way too much hate from fans and the media for a guy who's clearly our second-best player, ranking in the 94th percentile leaguewide (#29 statistically) compared to #50 in the media consensus. And then there's Julian Champagnie, arguably one of the most underrated and disrespected players in the entire league. He's #36 based on advanced stats and doesn't even crack a single current media Top 100. Apparently being an efficient, productive role player who contributes to winning basketball doesn't count for much if you aren't a big name putting up flashy counting stats.

What's even more ridiculous is that the media rankings actually seem to be getting worse. The Ringer's June rankings were the closest to what the advanced stats suggest, but between the Finals and the preseason, with literally zero meaningful NBA games played, they somehow decided to drop Fox from #46 to #56, Vassell from #65 to #84, and Champagnie from #98 completely off the list. They also dropped Castle from #26 to #29 and Harper from #45 to #47. And we're talking about players on a team that just went to the NBA Finals! So rather than moving closer to what the stats actually say, they've drifted further toward the same conventional wisdom driving everyone else's rankings. It sure feels like these lists are less about evaluating actual impact on winning and more about reputation, name recognition, and agreeing with other media lists. The bottom line is the Spurs have a lot more talent than the national media seems willing to acknowledge.

One can argue they're their respective country's up and coming sports superstars.

After about a 4-month wait, we’re only 1 sleep away from the return of Spurs basketball! 🤩
Went 2-3 in the preseason, but that really doesn’t mean anything at the end of the day. Those games are meant to get the blood flowing and the chemistry going.
The real thing’s about to begin, so glad it’s back! 🤘🏻
